  1. We just want to put on record our sincere thanks to Ashley and David for fixing our well out of warranty van at their significant cost. Few if any other manufacturers would entertain doing this. Once again, great work Gall boys - take a bow. Gary & Lee

  3. Just back home in Victoria from getting the ATV 2 serviced in Brendale. The Kedron family go above and beyond in their service. Well worth the trip from Victoria besides it is a good excuse to have a couple of weeks break. A big endorsement to Kedron

  4. Last week when I raised the topic about the height of number plates on our vans, I was pointed in the direction of Kedron by both Chris and Gavin who said they (Kedron) were providing brackets that will allow us to comply with the regulations. On Friday morning I e-mailed my little problem to Kedron and within a matter of minutes (no exaggeration!) I was contacted by Robyn Eales from the service department seeking information about the van and advising that she'd forward a bracket that mounts between the tyres. It was late Friday when I eventually got the info and sent the e-mail (we store the van) but Monday afternoon a parcel arrived, by courier, from Kedron (and at no charge to me whatsoever) with my new chequer plate bracket!!! How good is that?? If this isn't first-rate, top-class service then I don't know what is? Thank you Robyn, thank you Gall Boys, you are quite brilliant.

  5. Hi Everyone, I think it would be beneficial to us all to collate a National Caravan Service Directory. Whether it be a standard undercarriage service or some unplanned repairs when you are a long way from home it makes sense to at least have a short list I am more than happy to collate and post a list but need your input The more input received the better the list For the sake of uniformity I suggest using the template below over to you regards Peter State : City / town : Business / Contact name : Address : Ph: Web site: Type of work : Comments : As an example and to kick things off for Victoria State : Victoria City / town : Melbourne metro eastern suburbs Business / Contact name : Hardings Swift Address : 114 Colchester Rd Kilsyth Ph: 03 9729 8477 Web site: www.swiftcaravans.com.au Type of work : mechanical, alignment, suspension, electrical, insurance, tow bars, tow vehicle electrics, storage, just about anything caravan Comments : lots of experience, vans are serviced on hoists

  6. Well, we went to the Brisbane Caravan show and have finally placed our order for a brand spanking new XC-3 Compact. The team at Kedron were really helpful as always and it was great to stir up the Patriarch (Baz) with my Qld jersey. Now, we wait until May 18 and in the meantime get the van's parking area at home all set up. Finally got the new DVD on Maytown - if you haven't seen it, it is the most extreme treatment for the van and the drivers that the Boys have done in 20 years of filming.

  7. Hi, I was just listening to the arvo programme on the ABC (Brisbane) Programme host started talking about a girl who was with her grandmother when she (grandmother) had a fall and injured herself. The granddaughter called 000 and the operator talked her through the process of downloading 'Emergency +' on her smartphone. This app gave the ambo's the GPS coordinates of her exact location, so they could attend and perform the marvellous work/service that they do! My suggestion, go to the App store do a search for Emergency + and download (its free) from this app you can access 000 (ambo's fire & police) the SES & the police assistance line (non urgent) where ever you have phone coverage. When you download this app and you go to the homepage your GPS coordinates are there so you can relay them to the operator for quicker (hopefully) response! This will/would be very beneficial when your travelling in an area that your not familiar with This app is available for both IOS & Android. Stay safe!

  10. We are now just over the QLD border from the NT on our slow way home, and camping on the Camooweal Billabong. We chose the bottom billabong, as it’s less crowded. At a guess it’s 3 kms from the main highway to the bottom pool What a great spot. Lots of bird life, including egrets, whistling kites, a black swan, etc. This is a popular spot and by late afternoon all spots near us are taken. But no one is too close. The road in is a bit chopped up (they had recent rains, now dried out) but nothing we couldn’t handle with ease. I imagine it could get a bit dusty here but after the recent rains it is nice and fresh, In town is a good water point and dump point, so if approaching from the East, fill up before going out to the waterholes. And a bonus, last night we met up with other Kedronites who are on the forum, Liz and Gary Woods. It was great to chat!

  11. My wife and I have cancelled three holidays for 2020 - for obvious reasons. Whilst self-isolated at home - we decided to plan our 2021 holidays. Having no real preferences where to go, we put a dartboard in the kitchen and attached a paper map of Australia. We decided wherever the dart landed, would be the location of next year’s holidays. My wife then threw three darts. It seems that we are spending our holidays behind the fridge next year.

  12. Hi all, Just touching base, Annie & I would like to wish you all the most wonderful Australia Day 🇦🇺 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺 For the last two weeks we have been staying at Willawarrin (just west of Kempsey) Pony Club, which is the ‘base camp’ for the local ‘Blaze Aid’ team. This area was razed by bushfires on 9/11 (......last, bit ironic) The devastation and stories you hear and see from the locals is heartbreaking! The sight of the fires trail and sometimes random actions on adjacent properties is something to behold. During our time here I been out most days, with other willing volunteers, repairing and rebuilding property fences, yes it has been at times heavy, hard work. But you only do what you are comfortable with. There is great comrade in the camp with fellow volunteers. You are given three meals a day, (don’t come here if you want loose weight), early starts each day with usually an early exit to bed. Annie has been volunteering in the kitchen along with others preparing all the sustenance to keep us all feed.....yummo, while others have been working on admin. We are staying in our van, with power and water supplied (not sure if this is available at all camps). Can I suggest you go to www.blazeaid.com.au have a look at the website and find a ‘camp’ in an area that suits you.....give a day, a week or whatever to this very worthy cause. A couple of days ago we had a contingent of Australian Army regulars & reservists arrive here at camp (a really great bunch of guys) it has been a wonderful experience working along side them doing the fencing and sharing a meal together.....wonderful way to spend Oz day! You should see the ‘toys’ they brought with them that unfortunately we can’t play with.....thank you guys for your service! Have a great Australia Day 🇦🇺 and remember www.blazeaid.com.au Travel safe.....there are idiots out there.....

Thanks guys for your service!

  15. Hi All, long time since I posted on this site. The reason for todays post is that I have finally after 10 years of trying fixed the dust Ingres problem that I have had with our van. The answer was that the pressure on the inside had to begetter than the pressure on the outside. This has been achieved by installing a CaraFan in place of the exisiting Fantastic Fan. The CaraFan was created by Lyons Air-conditioning in Perth. It provides high volume filters air into the caravan cabin keeping the inside pressure above that of the outside pressure. I had it fitted by the Kedron people at the factory. I have just completed 250Km of gravel, with lots of dust, and not one drop of dust inside the van. Happy wife happy life. This has been one of the best bits of kit that I have added to the van and we are very happy. You can have a look at the product at carafan.com.au. I have attached a photo.

  16. We are camped in the South West Of WA, just South of Margaret River, in the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park. The campground is called Jarrahdene. This is a drop dead gorgeous spot, set among flowering banksias and vines and ferns. Quite a few of the sites fit a good sized caravan and we have a nice big site with the usual wooden table and chairs and fireplace. Nearby are toilets and a covered kitchen with gas barbeque, and a dump point. And both Margaret River township and Augusta are short drives away. Equally important, we have reasonable phone and internet reception. The only problem for some of our brethren is that it being a national park they do not allow dogs. I feel so lucky to be in such a lovely spot.

Wishing you all safe travels over the upcoming festive season.?????

  19. Hello Pepper, I can assure you that you won't have an issue with Kedron. I reason I say this is because Kedron replaced our air cond while in Broome (No charge) when the van was 4 years out of warranty. I had a leaky sink tap while in Lawn Hill and Kedron sent us a new one ........No charge and the van is 6 years out of warranty. I broke the neck off my diesel heater tank (My fault) and they sent me a new tank ........ you guessed it .......no charge. I broke the flap of the outside power point and .............yes .............. Kedron sent me a new power point to Alice Springs ........... No charge. We met a couple on the Birdsville Track who had just purchased a 10 year old ATV from a private sale and travelled with them to Lawn Hill and along the way the rocks from the road smashed the plumbing couplings and he could not buy new ones easily, so I told him to give Kedron a call ........... and guess what........... they sent him new ones .........No Charge. They where in total disbelief. Pepper, I have never dealt with a company like them. They just want you to enjoy their product and go out of their way to "Do the right thing" ............ very rare these days.

  20. Hi Guy's, My two bobs worth.... Your choice/decision..... about the train coming to the 'east' side. Not knowing anything about your 200...... and its current service history....would like to think it's up to date, so a heap of spares may be unnecessary. My suggestion ... travel around the south east area of Qld...... for as long as you think is reasonable, then back to the factory to 'fix' up any glitches ....that may pop up. (Pine Rivers Showground) is a great place to stay only 10 minutes away from the factory...Helen & Eric are the caretakers there....very friendly people contact there is 0459 023346 As you indicated....this is your first van.....even though it's a Kedron....don't venture too far off the 'black top' UNTIL you feel you are ready to.....crawl before you walk.....makes sense! Bring all the usual stuff with you .....re ....leads, hoses, comfort items etc.... your call....you know what you may or may not need OR want. Please dont.... be afraid to ask as many questions as you wish....there are many willing fellow members here only to happy to assist you in the 'Kedron' experience. Also don't be adverse...in letting other Kedron owners via this forum knowing your plans/travels as you will soon find we are all very keen to welcome new members to the KOG!? Travel safe......looking forward to cing you down the road.....

  25. You may have seen this before. THE SATNAV - BY PAM AYRES I have a little satnav, it sits there in my car A satnav is a driver's friend, it tells you where you are I have a little satnav, I've had it all my life It's better than the normal ones, my satnav is my wife It gives me full instructions, especially how to drive "It's sixty miles an hour", it says, "You're doing sixty five" It tells me when to stop and start, and when to use the brake And tells me that it's never ever, safe to overtake It tells me when a light is red, and when it goes to green It seems to know instinctively, just when to intervene It lists the vehicles just in front, and all those to the rear And taking this into account, it specifies my gear I'm sure no other driver has so helpful a device For when we leave and lock the car, it still gives its advice It fills me up with counselling, each journey's pretty fraught So why don't I exchange it, and get a quieter sort? Ah well, you see, it cleans the house, makes sure I'm properly fed It washes all my shirts and things, and keeps me warm in bed! Despite all these advantages, and my tendency to scoff, I only wish that now and then, I could turn the bugger off!

  28. 1x 250grpack of Salada Biscuits 200grms Butter 185grm (1 cup) soft brown sugar 1 tsp vanilla essence Generous pinch of salt 200gr dark chocolate chopped Turn oven to 180 degrees. Line a baking tray (approx 300x250cm) with foil then baking paper. Lay out Saladas in a single layer to fit the tray. The Caramel - melt the butter and sugar together in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally for about five minutes until it is thick and "gloopy". Stir in vanilla and salt. Take the caramel off the heat and quickly our it over the Saladas. Smooth with spatula. Put tray in oven for 15 minutes until the caramel has darkened. Remove from oven and cool for a few minutes, then sprinkle the chopped chocolate over the toffee. As the chocolate melts spread it evenly over the base. (Some cut up pistachios sprinkled on top can be a festive addition). Allow your "Crack" to cool then snap into pieces - any odd shape will do and store in an airtight container in the frig. ENJOY!! Sorry, there is no photo, I made this recipe for the Christmas gathering at Ruberns Lagoon last week and it disappeared before I had a chance to take a photo.

  29. A successful rancher died and left everything to his devoted wife. She was a very good-looking woman and determined to keep the ranch, but knew very little about ranching, so she decided to place an ad in the newspaper for a ranch hand. Two cowboys applied for the job. One was gay and the other a drunk. She thought long and hard about it, and when no one else applied she decided to hire the gay guy, figuring it would be safer to have him around the house than the drunk. He proved to be a hard worker who put in long hours every day and knew a lot about ranching. For weeks, the two of them worked, and the ranch was doing very well. Then one day, the rancher's widow said to the hired hand, "You have done a really good job, and the ranch looks great. You should go into town and kick up your heels." The hired hand readily agreed and went into town one Saturday night. One o’clock came, however, and he didn't return. Two o’clock and no hired hand. Finally he returned around two-thirty, and upon entering the room, he found the rancher's widow sitting by the fireplace with a glass of wine, waiting for him. She quietly called him over to her. "Unbutton my blouse and take it off," she said. Trembling, he did as she directed. "Now take off my boots." He did as she asked, ever so slowly. "Now take off my socks" He removed each gently and placed them neatly by her boots. "Now take off my skirt." He slowly unbuttoned it, constantly watching her eyes in the firelight. "Now take off my bra." Again, with trembling hands, he did as he was told and dropped it to the floor. Then she looked at him and said, "If you ever wear my clothes into town again, you’re fired." (P.S. - Yeah, I didn't see it coming, either)

  30. Romantic Australians! You can't get more romantic than this! Aussie stockman and his wife had just got married and found a quiet hotel for their wedding night. The man approached the front desk and asked for a room. He said, 'We're on our honeymoon and we need a nice room, with a good strong bed." The clerk winked, ‘Do you want the 'Bridal'?' The drover reflected on this for a moment and then replied, "Nah, I reckon not. I'll just hold onto her ears until she gets used to it."

  31. The Brothel Parrot . . . A woman went to a pet shop where she immediately spotted a large, beautiful parrot. There was a sign on the cage that said $50.00. 'Why so little,' she asked the pet store owner. The owner looked at her and said, 'Look, I should tell you first that this bird used to live in a house of prostitution, so it says some pretty vulgar stuff.' The woman thought about this, but decided she had to have the bird any way. She took it home and hung the bird's cage up in her living room and waited for it to say something. The bird looked around the room, then at her, and said, 'New house, new madam.' The woman was a bit shocked at the implication, but then realized 'that's really not so bad.' When her 2 teenage daughters returned from school the bird saw and said, 'New house, new madam, new girls.' The girls and the woman were a bit offended, but then began to laugh about the situation, considering how and where the parrot had been raised. Moments later, the woman's husband Keith came home from work. The bird looked at him and said, 'Hi Keith'

  34. A truckie walks into an outback cafe with a full-grown emu behind him. The waitress asks them for their orders. The truckie says, 'A hamburger, chips and a coke,' and turns to the emu, 'What's yours?' - 'Sounds great, the same,' says the emu. A short time later the waitress returns with the order 'That will be $9.40 please,' and he reaches into his pocket and pulls out the exact change and pays. The next day, the man and the emu come again and he says, 'A burger, chips and a coke.' - 'Sounds great, I'll have the same,' says the emu. Again the truckie reaches into his pocket and pays with exact change. This becomes routine until the two enter again. 'The usual?' asks the waitress. 'No, it's Friday night, so I'll have a steak, baked potato and a salad,' says the man. 'Brilliant idea, same for me,' says the emu. Shortly the waitress brings the order and says, 'That will be $32.60'. Once again the man pulls the exact change out of his pocket and places it on the table. The waitress cannot hold back any longer. 'Excuse me mate, how do you manage to always pull the exact change from your pocket every time?' 'Well, love' says the truckie, 'a few years ago, I was cleaning out the back shed, and found an old lamp. When I cleaned it, a Genie appeared and offered me two wishes. My first wish was that if I ever had to pay for anything, I would just put my hand in my pocket and the right amount of money would always be there.' 'That's brilliant!' says the waitress. 'Most people would ask for a million dollars or something, but you'll always be as rich as you want, for as long as you live!' 'That's right. Whether it's a carton of milk or a new car, the exact money is always there,' says the man. Still curious the waitress asks, 'What's with the bloody emu? The truckie pauses, sighs, and answers, 'My second wish was for a tall bird with a big bum and long legs, who agrees with everything I say.

  38. To members of the Kedron Owners Group, I trust this finds you all in good health and spirits! Yesterday, (24th April) I received notification from Vice President Cathy Brown that she wont be standing for re-election at this years AGM. Cathy cited in her notification on going health problems with Greg (her husband) as the reason for not standing again. Greg has been in severe debilitating pain for many years following a bad (aren't they all) motor bike accident. The pain is so bad that Cathy & Greg are reluctantly putting their van and 'tug' up for sale, as travelling this great country is something that they just cannot do in reasonable comfort now. I, along with you I'm sure wish Greg & Cathy all the best with his ongoing treatment regime! At the upcoming AGM (around early October) I also will be standing down as President as my three year tenure will expire. I ASK all members to consider standing for either Vice President or President when notice of nominations is called in a couple of months. These positions, really will only call for minimal input in your busy schedules, the remaining committee I hope/believe will be re nominating for their current positions.....they are a pleasure to work with, I can assure you of that! In a group like ours it is very important to have new blood (so to speak) to keep the group fresh with new ideas & ventures. In closing, I again ask you again to seriously consider nominating for a position on the 'new' committee when nominations are called! If we....... as a group can't form a new committee ....what happens then? My phone is alway on if anyone wishes to call and discuss whats involved in either or ANY position....zero four one two 415466 Travel safe & CU down the road Tony H

  39. Hi Joiners, just saw your post...call me slow! We put our order in for the XC-3 Compact at the show and expect delivery in May 18. We hummed and ha'ad for some time, but opted for the Compact because of the ease of towing and the ability to not have to shell out for a bigger tow tug. Having done a lot of camper-trailing and tent camping the smaller van won't be an issue, I expect. See you out there somewhere.

  42. Hi to all, I thought I would share a conversation that I have recently performed on our Kedron. We got sick of being unconfortable with our Cafe style seating. First I removed the cafe style dinett from the van, which meant that there was damaged internal paneling. I removed this and took the van to Kedron who replaced the panneling and built a new wheel arch cover. Great job by Ashley and the crew. I purchased two Nordic 21 chairs which in my opinion were a little low for the van. I raised these by 45 mm as by installing a block of wood as showmen in one of the photos. The chairs were positioned so that we could rotate them fully and allow a reasonable amount of recline. They were then screwed to the floor. This has been the best mod that we have ever done to the van as we can now sit in comfort. At present we are using two stable tables to eat of but are investigating a table setup. This is not a priority at this stage. I will post an update once we install one of the options that we are investigating. Hope this is useful to other Kedron Owner. Regards Bruce

  43. Laurie & Webby have said it all.....NO more to say.... The Gall's are fantastic with product support & backup. I don't know about Qld consumer laws, but I would like to think that any paperwork you receive from Kedron with the purchase of your van would reflect some warranty period.....BUT rest assured if your buying a van either new or second hand (from Kedron), the support and help will be there....well after the statutory warranty period. 'Pepper' re your post from yesterday afternoon, when I purchased my new van in October 07 the paperwork at the time stated a twelve month warranty period, nine years YES nine years later Kedron will look at ANY 'fair wear and tear' problem/concern that I have with my van.....if the problem/concern is anyway related to the build of the van it is fixed (properly) in no time with a minimum of fuss, usually FREE OF CHARGE or for a very minimal charge, if you have a concern/problem with a part or component supplied to Kedron that they fitted to your van at the original build or fitted by them (Kedron) post build.....they seem to know the right strings to pull to get you concern/problem FIXED even when well out of the suppliers warranty period. Enjoy your van & welcome to the Kedron family. CU down the road....

Right now we are camped at a lovely freecamp called Kwolyin, South of Merredin and North East of Perth. The camp has flushing toilets, a camp kitchen (with gas stovetop), a covered barbeque area with free gas barbeques, and a nice bush setting. Tomorrow we head down to Margaret River for a few days before heading to Bridgetown.

I had put a trip report over in the Owners private section and normally do not place trip reports in the more public section. But I absolutely should place the report here in recognition that this is where I asked for advice! So thank you for the timely reminder. We travelled on the track from 3 to 9 June.
