    Roof leak

Sorry, can't help you. Last year when in NT we also had a leak through the roof. Searched high and low but to no avail. It eventually stopped but on returning to Qld we had the van serviced by the manufacturer and ask to check out the leak. They removed the A/C unit only to find that a small stone had worked its way between the bottom of the AC and the exterior roof aluminium. It rubbed away causing a small hole in the roof and let in any moisture from the AC or rain. Plugged and sealed and OK. However, they did say that it might be a good idea to tell CIL about the small repair in case the interior roof sheet delaminates and needs replacing. The cost of replacing one sheet.......about $6,000. Major job, remove cupboards, shower unit, anything on the roof and half the roof cladding as well. Did notify CIL, but we are yet to make a decision. There is some very slight bubbling but not very noticable. So it can be a huge job so make sure the repairers know what is involved. Chris.
  2. We too did the GCR in 2010 and the conditions ewere not great. To have so many things fall off or break you must have been going a bit too hard. There was one day that we never got over 20kph. I remember cattle on the road passing us. Some of the corrigations we drove into needed a map to get out of. If it takes an extra day to get there so be it, at least your van will not suffer. Chris.
  3. In 2010 we were travelling on the GCR from the rock to Laverton. So.......being law abiding citizens we ate all our fruit and veg before we got to the NT / WA border. Getting to the border there was a sign saying that the bin for the disposal of f&v was a mere 700 kms down the road at Laverton. What a lot of BS. Chris.
  4. It is humour..............but it's also a fact. Chris.
  5. Are you referring to the stained white sikaflex? I use a toothbrush and hose, cleans up great. Chris.
