  1. Hi all, thanks for the feedback... I had someone go and look at vanseleven.com.au stock and are purchasing them $110 for the pair , including GST , padded with marine carpet..... spoke to Kedron , they quoted $80 for the pair, not padded .
  2. Hi Big Fish, we are staying out at Big Red , never considered staying in BV and doing a 80km round trip each day.... more relaxing to stay on site and take in the atmosphere... have you joined the Travelling to Big Red Bash 2016 Facebook page ?... lots of discussions on there about the event. Where are you travelling from ?
  3. We are looking to purchase covers for the awning uprights . Has anyone purchased them from vaneleven.com in Taree , are they OK ? Or I see a past forum thread from 2008 in which people discuss buying them from Kedron - has anyone done that lately . I did want covers that aside from covering the uprights they have a little flap at the bottom to cover the fixings and still allow water to drain . We saw a patriot on the road and the covers come standard with the van .... Or does the group know of other manufacturers ( I have tried local annex place to no avail )
  4. Not long now till we head off , ticket sales closed at 6,000 ! Doing extra housework on the van , hope we see some other Koggers out there
  5. We have installed a box on the drawbar , again keeping the weight in mind we use it to store chocks, hoses, jockey wheel , bits of wood to go under the jacks - all the setup stuff ..
  6. Any KOGGERS heading out to the Big Red Bash at Birdsville 2016 ? any hints from people that have been before ?
  7. Follow up on CTP insurance, which is with NRMA for the tow vehicle. I spoke to NRMA- it took a while to get to the right person... and was told "what is towed is considered part of the motor vehicle. it does not specify in their internal notes that same state registration is required.." QLD Department of Transport advised that CTP is required over 4.5 tonnes, so not required for our van.
  8. Thank you to Strettman and Yabbitol. We live at Tweed Heads and it is common for people to register vehicles across the border ( much cheaper ) . We have left our van registered in QLD ( cost $189 ) as it is actually garaged there and our tow vehicle is registered in NSW as it is garaged at home . We have installed the Breaksafe battery monitor and have advised insurance company that van is garaged interstate, however I did not give the CTP for the car a thought... will chase this up.
  9. When we purchased our second hand van from Kedron in March we got 6 months QLD rego, which will run out soon , so we are looking to change it over to NSW Rego . It will be interesting to see if this is picked up as an issue when the van goes over the pits ..
