  1. Greetings from Cooktown. Yes, a big thumbs up from us. For over 10 years, we have always had exceptional service from the Gall Boys and all their staff. No complaints here. Peter & Margaret
  2. An alternative could be the Redcliff Showground. A powered site is about $15 per night. We're currently at the Railco free camp in Ravenshoe; sunshine at last!!!! Cheers Peter & Margaret
  3. Hi Rick. Try the fridge whisperer at 39 Aerodrome Rd Caboolture. Mobile 0400 744 219. Peter

    VAST con

Hi all We have been using the VAST system in our ATV for two since the system was launched in December 2010. It is the best satellite TV system on the market (with the exception of pay TV). It's easy to setup, easy to use and it works anywhere. Who cares if only one decoder box is available!!!! it's the quality of the service that counts. Peter
  5. Hi Hermit We had Foxtel and Vast in our last Kedron, it worked all over Aus. With your Foxtel/ Austar you need to take your box from home or as we did, subscribe for another box. Bear in mind you will only be watching the channels on your plan and in the time zone where your plan is based ie if your plan is based in Townsville, that is what you be watching in WA in Qld time. We used an Oyster fully automatic system with a dual LNB which was installed by Springers in Brisbane. Similar with VAST, except you get the ABC and SBS in every state at their local times. We'll be doing the same in our next Kedron, due in a few weeks; we hope!!! Hope this helps. Regards Peter
  6. Congratulations Chris, you certainly have our support. Might see you in Darwin this year!!! Regards Peter & Margaret
  7. Hi Steve & Kez Congratulations on heading off to where ever. We spent 3 months in Tassie a couple of years ago; what a beauriful place to travel. We might run across each other somewhere. All the best and travel safe. Peter & Margaret
  8. Hi Arthur. We had a similar problem in our ATV four two, a 2003 Kedron. Kedron did replace the thermostat. If Kedron can't help you, try 'the Fridge Whisperer' at 39 Areodrome Rd Caboolture (07 5495 4944) or (0400 744219). If they have to remove the fridge for bench testing, they have to remove the caravan door to get the fridge out of the van!!!!. All the best. Peter
  9. Congratulations. We look foreward to meeting up with you somewhere down the track in our new ATV four two (when we get it!!!) Peter & Margaret
  10. Hi there Chris and Val. We enjoyed the Savannah Way in September 2008. Take your time, travel safe and enjoy. Peter & Margaret.
  11. Hi John. Welcome to the Group. If to get as much enjoyment out of that van as Sue and Ann did, you'll be very pleased with it. Enjoy. Peter & Margaret
  12. Hi Tom and June. We have a 22ft (external)2003 ATV in excellant condition with loads of extras including automatic sat TV. See our post ATV for sale or visit RV Point. We are at Cotton Tree now (site 183)and heading back to Brisbane tommorrow. Cheers. Peter and Margaret.
  13. Hi Ian & Jill The 19 or 22 inch TEAC High Definition TV that Kedron use are pretty good. We have used the 19 inch for several years without any troubles, it has an inbuilt DVD player for when you are bored with normal TV. Check out JB Hi-Fi or similar places for a deal, they should be around $350. Regards. Peter & Margaret
  14. Hullo all. Our 2003 ATV is now for sale to make way for a new one. If anyone is seriously interested email me at: peteflynn@bigpond.com Peter & Margaret.
  15. Merry Christmas everyone. Have a great caravanning year in 2011, and stay safe on the road  Peter & Margaret.
  16. Yep A great article, great caravans and great blokes to deal with  Peter Flynn
  17. Hi Mal & Kerry Congratulations  If you don't want to travel too far in the Friday afternoon traffic, try the Lawnton Showground for your first night so you can enjoy your new creation without having to rush. It's only a few km from the factory. Peter & Margaret
  18. Hi there Farmer. Our solution is to get a piece of sullage hose, the black flexable stuff, and cut it to the length of the hanging rail. Remove the rail and slip the cut piece of hose over it, and then replace the rail. Being about 35mm in diameter and having corrugated sides, the hose holds the coat hangers nicely in the hook of the coat hanger and the corrugations in the hose prevents them from bunching up. This certainly works for us. Peter (ATV42)

Hi there P&J. Congratulations in placing your order with Kedron  We have had our ATV for two about 7 1/2 years and have travelled over 120K with it following in the rear vision mirror, and we still like everything about our Kedron. Currenty at CAW5 (S279) watching the footie. Peter & Margaret :shades:
  20. Hi Sid. I agree with your reasoning for buying a sat phone. We purchased one in April, and it is a good safety device and it's reassuring you can contact anyone anywhere and they can contact you. If we call its costs us $2/ minute. but if someone calls us, they pay their normal charge for a call to a mobile phone. One night in the Bungle Bungles we text one of our family and they called us for a good old chat; same same when we were overnighting out at the horizontal falls in the Kimberley recently. We find that another advantage is you can put it in your backpack when walking, or take it out with you in the tinnie; you can't do that with a HF!!!!!!!!! I have bonded an external antenna (about 2inch round), to the top of the snorgle on the landcruiser and another to the top surface of the 4 seasions hatch, we have had reception where ever we have been. Currently in a secret place along the Dampier Peninsula. Cheers Peter (ATV42)

    Travel Plans

Hi there Chris and Val Have plenty of beer and wine in the fridge for us. We'll probably arrive at the Howard Springs CP in the first week of May. See you then  Peter & Margaret.
  22. Hi all We have also seen this van on the road. The design and detail is quite impressive when you see it close up Peter & Margaret.

    warranties

Hi there Mal and Kerry I would agree with all the previous comments. We have had our ATV for two just over 6 1/2 years and wouldn't change it. We had a water leak in a window recently and took our van out to see the Gall Boys; they fixed it on the spot free of charge while I had a cup of coffee. With service like that, it's no wonder there are plenty of happy Kedron owners out there. You really need to do your homework regarding the layout etc. Talk to as many other owners as you can. Hope to see you on the road. Peter & Margaret.
  24. Hi there Reg and Fran The questions you raise are often topics on various forums and around the campfire. It really is your personnal choice and what you are comfortable with. When travelling with our ATV for two, we travel with the top/ flush tank at the level it happens to be. To top it up each evening and drain it before leaving in the morning is impractical. In 6 and a half years and travelling on great to terrible roads, we have only had one small leak from the top/ flush tank on the Gulf track between Borroloola and Burketown last year. As far as usage is concerned, we use it whenever and for what whatever. We have a thing about dirty roadside toilets and unclean amenities! The bottom tank holds 20L, so we get about 3 days out of it when using it all the time. In regard to chemicals, we have tried just about everything on the market, all with various success. For the past year we have been using Coles Smart Buy Napi napicare plus (Woolies have a similar product) and will not go back to anything else. It certainly works for us, and according to the label the chemicals in it "fully comply with Australian Standard AS4351 for biodegradability and it is phosphate free and safe in septic systems". These are just our thoughts, others may have different suggestions. Peter & Margaret.
