Hi everyone, Thank's for your thoughts, we are both OK and where we live have not been affected other than the prolonged rain like everyone else in Queensland. Our son and his girlfriend who came home from England were in town when the storm hit and were very lucky to escape, his car was pushed into the gutter with the force of the water and they got out and took refuge in a shop. Anyone who knows Toowoomba, he was driving along Ruthven Street which is the main street out towards the northern end of town which is well above anywhere you would expect water. I have never seen anything like it, dealing with the clean up and the aftermath is quite dawnting. One of the major water mains was taken out by a shipping container, and nearly every major road crossing east to west is damaged. Our three dams which before summer were at 7% combined capacity over the past few weeks were rising nicely to around 35% than since Friday and mainly since Sunday night have risen to overflowing. This has kept me busy, returned from Sydney Sunday afternoon and went straight to work. Our main dam rose to 4.18 metres over the spillway by Tuesday afternoon and will be flowing without any rain for a few weeks at least as it has another dam overflowing into it, this feeds down to Toogoolawah. The storm that hit Toowoomba could not be detected, we were monitoring the events all day due to our dams and on the radar it looked like all other weather patterns we had been watching and our staff at the dams had been reporting on all day. It just came from absolutely no where and just dumped a s##t load of water. I think a lot more people will be found unfortunately as our daughter in law watched one couple escape a parked car and hang onto a power pole only to see the woman washed away. I know other people who saw a car stopped on a street when another car was pushed into the back of it by the water and the brake lights were still on the front car when it was swallowed up in the flood. Nature is just one of those things that we sometimes take for granted but when she gets angry she turns on a horrific change of pace. Hope everyone in Brisbane is safe.

Mitch, I definately dont have any experience with Discoveries but have you talked with Hayman Reece about the anti sway system they have. This may be compatable with the Discovery system. Worth talking to them anyway. Have a great Christmas and enjoy your travels.

Gary and Kaye, We have a Heike fitted over the bed and a fantastic fitted down the rear. We nearly made the mistake of not fitting the Heike and if we were ever going to build again we would not be without it. The best advantage is the amount of light that you get in the van. The blockout blind works perfectly when you want to have a rest in the middle of the day or early mornings for sleeping in. We haven't had any problems with ours. Bryan, I have a Safari on our's but we haven't seen any real dust since having it fitted about a month ago. Can't be any more help than that. My choice between brands ended up being who was doing the install and it ended up being one of the smaller local 4WD shops as it pay's to shop around from the big suppliers we paid $560 installed. Rick, I am currently looking at doing up the suspension on the 100 and I have come across this modification from airbag man suspension. I need to check it out fully yet but when you look at the cost of heavier spring sets and air bags it may be a worthwhile look. If anyone has any experience with these I am listening. I had standard airbag man "coil rite" system in the old car and they worked well. They have a kit that replaces the coils in the 100 series with "On Air" full air suspension modification. Beejay, As Mayzee suggested, on our van we use a seperate hose for the washing machine and connect the sink and shower through one outlet hose joined by a tee piece. It would be just as easy to use three seperate hoses though. cheers

Mick and Robyn, We have a camera fitted, we supplied ours to the factory when our van was being built and all I had to do was hope that I wired the car unit up to match. All worked well. Do you need any specific information ? Ours is located with the wiring accessible through one of the back cabinets if we need to disconnect the camera for any reason. This isn't our van but one in the yard when we were setting ours up. Cheers :smile:

Chris, Helen and I are on our second Kedron, this our 5th van since we have been married (if you count the one we borrowed for our honeymoon 6) from an old Viscount / Millard / Jayco pop top than back to tents for a while, our first Kedron XC pop top served us well even though it was second hand when we purchasd it from the yard we reckon the previous owners must have also looked after it. We sold it to people we know in town and so far I believe they are enjoying themselves also. The Top Ender wasn't Helen's first choice we would have happily settled for an ATV but I decided to go the extra mile and we wouldn't have it any other way. :thumbsup: Like you even with our first van David and the crew were more than helpful when we needed advice or some minor warranty work (you don't get that service anywhere else) with our new van Ashley has been up to our house twice to look at some minor problems. If the van didn't sell the product the after sales service and friendly atmosphere when you call in definately should. My first caravan trip I can remember (photo's) was mum and dad packed all of us (6 people) we left Sydney in 1961 with an old bondwood van and customline and headed to Cooktown. cheers :biggrin:

John and Maureen, Don't discount looking at the 2.4 or 2.8 Yamaha. The 2.8 is only 29 kg dry weight while it doesn't have all the fancy cladding it is actually lighter and smaller than the 2.4 at (32kg dry weight). I am pretty sure that some people have them in the group. The 2.8 by the brochure is 60/67 db while thw 2.4 is 54/59db. Just some other ideas to consider ? see you on the road :thumbsup:

Mal and Kerry, If you look back through the forum a topic was put on that dealt with issue regarding if you were buying a new van what would you do different I think the title was. It definately assisted us when we were placing the order for our van. Hope this helps. :thumbsup:

Alan and Jayne, We haven't done it, but I believe that you can pull the bra out and put it in upside down. The flap than goes down and doesn't need to be held up. I guess that if you did this it would just be a matter of rolling the flap up and holding with a peg of some sort to prevent it flapping in the breeze you could just leave it hanging.
