  1. Hi Again to all Got the van back from Spinifex and we are very pleased. They moved our drinking water tank to the front replacing the original 60L with the original 80L shower tank.(this was a surprise as when the van was delivered we were told it was 100L) No wonder we never had enough water. 3 off 80L camel tanks were fitted and all the plumbing was redone inside the van to tidy up the original mess. These are 10ml thick tanks very robust. All guarding was put in place. We are very pleased with the quality of workmanship and materials. While it was there they replaced wheel bearings and adjusted the brakes. (supplying us with a spare pair of bearings, seal, bearing cap and splitpin). A front window water leak that has been there since new was found to be tracking from somewhere on the roof. They also noticed the radio aerial had broken away from the top mount so they fixed that also. In all very happy. Regards to all
  2. Hi all Another repairer is Spinifex Caravans Unit 2-3 7 Lathe street,Virginia QLD 4014 Ph 36330051 Email spinifexcaravans@bigpond.com . They are currently fitting up 3 new water tanks moving one other for correct draw bar weight distribution and doing some minor repair work on things that are falling apart. Will keep you all posted as to the quality and final cost results. Best Regards. Rod and Mavis.
  3. Greeting all We have found ordinary shade cloth to be extremely effective as an annex floor on both dirt and sand. It is easily swept clean can be made easilly to any size and is inexpensive light weight and compact for storage. Eyelets are very easy to install for pegging out. Another gem passed on to us from brother inlaw is to use artificial grass carpet as mats in the car for the realy dirty stuff. Mud hoses off or breaks off when dry, if there is little water for cleaning. Sand just shakes out and original floor coverings are kept dry and clean. Regards. Rod and Mavis
  4. Hi Jeanne and Geoff We replaced all of our halogens including the range hood light long ago not only for the reason of their heat but also for their power consumption and the dubious safety record as you mentioned. We found that they were very uncomfortable in summer. LED's are expencive but well worth the conversion. They are cool to use. We also replaced the step handle globe with a LED. Best Regards. Rod and Mavis.
  5. Happy Birthday old man

  7. Thanks for the jem of a tip Roger and Christine. Will be checking it out ASAP. And your utilization of the HF has convinced me and maybe even the missus (grin) of the value. We have been kicking it around since Casino whether or not to get one. Regards and thanks. Rod and Mavis.
