  4. sorry Tony I dont have the BF Goodrich fitted I stuck with the original size 285/65/17 in a Yokohama Geolander they are a good tyre and after doing the Gibb and Tanami with them suffered no chips or cuts and I did get a 100% 20000 klm warranty and pro rata for the remainder of tires life (this would be yoko's interpretation of life ) in writing from the dealer and they were aware of where I was heading also. The BFG's were too dear at the time when I was looking around up around the $450 to $500 a corner mark as much as I do like the BFG's that was just to dear for them
  5. This thread on another site might have some bearing on why kaymar are saying not to use weight distribution hitches http://www.exploroz.com/Forum/Topic/78347/...t.aspx%3fpn%3d1 Here is some further info including pics I know it is about the ARB bar mostly but there are some issues with this that might also affect the kaymar bar as well as other makes http://www.exploroz.com/Forum/Topic/76292/...arrier%26pn%3d6
  6. here are some pics around the Roxby Downs and Andamooka areas http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/galleri...50433192?page=1 Regards
  7. Hi Chris Just been looking at some pics on another site re the water around where you are and after travelling those rds 2 times last yr as you know Im quite amazed to see that much water. Wouldnt I like to be up there in the next few months and see the transformation from last year to this year would blow you away. But I'm guessing that the rds are very damaged and wouldnt be possible anyway??? Safe travels anyway and looking forward to your reports as allways go the 200 LOL Regards
  8. No wear on my genuine pin Tony I havnt had any probs with people tampering with it to date but i have sworn at it some times trying to get it undone so that probably explains why no one has tampered with it  :Australia:
  9. Hi Ian and Jill My 200 has the 50mm lift as well and i didnt have to change the head at all only thing I did was turn the head over so the longest bit was facing downwards and adjust to suit my hieghts for the Topender Regards
  10. I didnt reply purposefully because I'm sure you know my thoughts re the HF and sat phone debate \
  11. Finally, the all new Patrol has been released - in The Middle East. So it can't be too far away for here. 5.7l V8 as per the rumor, with 450 hh ( 330kw?) and 650NM. No Word on the Diesel. I guess 28l/100 km is good economy if Petrol is 22 c /litre. Appears to have copied the shape of the 200 to me  http://www.nissanpatrol-me.com/
  12. Hi Chris I whole heartedly agree with everything Darryl says. I have the 200 series twin turbo diesel and have all the goodies fitted as well with also a long range tank fitted and with the boat on roof and GVMupgrade I am just within my specs and the GVM upgrade you cant get for the 100 series. To get the GVM upgrade for the 200 it is required to upgrade the suspension which then gives the vehicle a tad under the 1 tonne mark above the tare weight carrying capacity and well worth not having the worry of being overloaded. Some people will say that the 200 is exy well I disagree, with the prices that the 100's are bringing at the moment the 200 would be a good investment IMO. I'm aware of a KOG owner selling their late model 100 for the 60k mark and it was a quick sale which tells me it was cheap but they were happy and are upgrading to the 200. I didnt take the trade in price offered on my 100 but bought it home to Newcastle from Mackay where I bought the 200 and sold it for double the trade in price to the 1st looker gotta be happy with that Darryl didnt mention roofracks, long range tanks, whinch which I have and the fact that the van towball weight should also be included into the equation to and should be considered but in all honesty not many people do worry about these factors and I have known of people who have been in accidents and the insurance has paid out but someday down the track people who have very overloaded vehicles and vans will be knocked back. I hope this does not put you of but they are certainly factors that should be considered and I hope you enjoy caravanning experience as we do Regards
  13. Found this on another site thought it would be helpfull for members of this group :shades:
  14. Hi mate was thinking of you during the storm and was wondering how you survived ???? That Billiluna we called in there on the way across the tanami and topped up some fuel, is an interesting town  Yep and to you and Wendy and everybody else on the group that reads this posting hope you all have a merry christmas and a happy new year

  17. Hi Ian and Jill sorry for the delay I hope these pics are all right Pic 1 shows the Aux battery right hand side and the isolator in front of the battery just behind the headlight Pic 2 same battery the holding bracket needs to be cut slightly and bent re welded so that it clamps down onto the battery properly (you can see weld ontop of carrying handle) The isolator is also a 100amp and to date I have had no problems at all and the good thing is I have 6 compatible batteries all the same 4 in van and 2 in car and I back charge from van solar to car via anderson plug when camped Regards
  18. I have the 200kg constant in the rear and the Polyairs. This did stiffen the suspension slightly but I dont notice it with the draws and the recovery gear +fridge in permanently also a heavy toolbox I have to also say the only reason I have the polyairs is that I had them fitted to the original suspension prior the the fitment of the ARB but in all honesty I havnt needed to pump them up since the fitment of the ARB suspension they are just sitting there with 10 psi (or whatever the old measurement is  ) I will take some pics tomorrow of batteries and post them Im just looking for reciepts and part no's for you and will post those also if I can find them my mobile no is 0407018276 iffin you need to discuss further regards
  19. Hi Ian and Jill My battery setup wasnt at the time a ARB setup but my local ARB dealer whom I am quite friendly with did me a deal and set it up for me knowing that I would use it as stated above and after some 18 mths I am very happy with the setup. I know that CV tripper has put a 3rd battery in the rear of his 200 and left the original setup and I'm sure David will reply if he sees this thread but seeing he is on the rd that could be some time. My setup has the 100 amp/hr sure power from memory I can check this easily if you require more info and I can take some pics if you like of the mounting position. just ask away regards
  20. Hi Ian and Jill I can only agree with everything CV tripper Tony and Jody have said I love the 200 and after 4 cruisers this is just the best thing ever, yes there were some teething problems with tailshaft clunks which I suffered and oil usage which is approx 1 ltre per 5000k and in my oppinion quite acceptable the tailshaft was a non event as once greased it never reappeared. My 200 now has 70k on the clock and these klms wernt easy or soft Klms IMO mostly towing the topender. Have just completed a 24k trip over some 8mths doing the Gibb and the Tanami rds plus many more dirt rds in between as I look for dirt over bitumen wherever I can and I averaged 19klm/100k and my setup isnt light by any means with boat on roof and van in tow. I have had the ARB suspension upgraded with GVM upgraded as well and I could honestly say my vehicle/van and boat all up would go close to 7 tonne, and I dont spare the vehicle I drive to the speed limit except in the NT I would sit quite comfortably at 110klms but I have plenty in reserve if the need arose. I use my vehicle for its intended use 4wdriving and towing a HEAVY van and can honestly say even at the high price (only somes opinion not mine)it is worth every cent I paid for it even with all the additions I made to it to even make it better. You can see some pics here http://www.kedronownersgroup.com/photos/th...ls.php?album=14 of my vehicle and vans and how I use them allthough they are of my 100 series I have also split my batteries and put AGM's in as replacement to originals with a surepower isolater and after nearly 18mths of abuse running my beer fridge (engle) have suffered no problems whatsoever Regards

  23. Hi Adam & Linda + Kids Glad to here all has been going good and that you are travelling well. The only tip that I can tell you is go check the docking area for the boat to tassie the day before you go and make some plans as to how you will tackle it, ie waiting there isnt that much room for vans and such unless you park along the promenade and to do that you would need to be there very early as some were doing, 9am in the morning when I had a look a few weeks bak and can assure you it would be bedlum with the van and as you have the kids that would really test the patiance trying to entertain them but in saying that you would be right beside the beach and could keep them entertained swimming and building sand castles LOL. Oh and you might be going to Tassie around about the same time as the Oddcouple from the group also Novacastrians so you might catch up with them. New Kedron owners on their maiden trip and I'm sure Steve will make contact when he see's this message Enjoy
  24. We are bak home now for a SHORT time LOL  have trtied calling you on radio a few times but havnt got you ?? Actually we had a few good nights with ya neighbours Adam and Linda? and kids whilst down in the flinders ranges Will try calling you tomorrow see how we go ??? and how is everything going?
