200 Series Fuel Figure

Recommended Posts

well I have just clocked up the 1000k and the 1st tank of fuel, remember these figures are NON TOWING and a mixture of highway and city driving and I would expect to get better as the motor wears in

Using BP diesel 956klms used 114 litres tank holds 138 litres as per toyota specs

my calculations are as :114 devided 956 = .1192 x 100 = 11.92 litres per 100k

:956 devided 114 = 8.38 klms per litre

I hope this is the correct method of working it out I didnt like maths at school  If im incorrect in working this out would appreciate correct method

Regards

That's spot on Kimbo. I'm shocking at maths too, so I go to this website and it works it all out for me.

I put in your figures and it told me "Kimbo is a smarty pants"

I'll add the link to our KOG links page for future reference for members.

Thanks Kimbo,

Sounds like you have a heavy foot - Toyota spec is 10.2/100km

Towing figures will be interesting... Keep your foot off the pedal

I was interested that you specified that you were using BP diesel.

I was under the impression that diesel is diesel, or is it a case of "oils aint oils"?

Not having owned a diesel before, should I be avoiding an particular diesel brand (like I avoid Woolworths petrol - it makes the V8 ping).

Has anyone noticed any problems with any particular brand, or better economy or performance from any particular brand?

Hi David

No particular reason with brands but I found with the 100 series I use to get better milage from Bp for some reason

I prefer to use Shell and caltex as well

Mobil I use very rarely as I find that I get less milage per tank

Heavy foot dont need one goes fast enough LOL

regards
