Webby
We tape ours up temporarily on dusty roads and don't have a problem. The vent is there for safety reasons ie gas ventilation.Enjoy your new Topender and safe travels. It's a great life !
Jacky Jacky
Hi The Dingoes, Hope you are enjoying your TE. Dust in the door vent just about irks everyone. As Webby indicated the vent is mandatory for the likelihood of any gas leak and death. Taping the vent is a cheaper option as is trying a piece of dense foam between the screen door and main door.Other elaborate methods have been used. Merv and Di
Welcome to the forum and start enjoying your new van. I asked the same question some time back now and have since used a cut down piece of clip together foam mat that is just the right thickness between the fly wire door and the outer door. We used this on our current trip to the top of the Cape and it worked quite well. Red dust every where else though, but that is just part of the fun.CheersMerv
Steve and Kez
We put a piece of foam in between the 2 doors. works perfect for us and we have travelled some bloody dusty roads/tracks.Cheers
Stu and Jean
Hi,Has anyone tried leaving one of the forward facing vents on one of the 4 season hatch's open slightly to presurise the van a bit so it doesnt suck in the dust. I havn't tried it yet but the theory sounds ok. cheersStue

Stu and Jean
,HI Stu and Jean, We cut a thick piece of Foam from Clark Rubber, bigger than the Hatch Area and placed same inside the Hatch, leaving the Front Flap open. This rectified the Dust Problem. Cheers Paul and SherylHi Paul and Sheryl,Thanks for that. Does that mean you used the rubber as a filter. How far did you leave the front hatch open and did you block off the door vent as well.cheersStue and Jean
