Can anyone shed some light on how to remove these bulbs please.

Thanks in advance for assistance.

Greg,

You will have to be more specific than that mate - which light bulbs?

If you are referring to the LED indicator panels at the back of Kedron van models over three years old see my posting for removal of the plastic trim and replacement of the LED modules on this forum.

Grahame

The lights are above the seating area.

Hi Havago

The globes look like they are similar to the 50 watt halogen two pin push in type, if that is the case they should simply pull out with a little care.  Otherwise the G type globes that will turn to either left or right then pull out.  Try a little upward pressure then try to turn one way or the other.

Cheers

Hello Merv,

Yes the one beside the beds we turned the front plastic black covers and it came off exposing the bulb which easily pulled out, two pin globe.

The ones above the seating I cant get the front off, tried turning left and right slightly pushing in and to no avail.

I am obviously missing something, probably so simple once realised LOL

I appreciate your response.

Greg

Hi Greg, removing the ones pictured is a challenge.

On the round section there is a tiny hole and using a fine screwdriver push the piece of plastic slightly protruding. The complete light assembly can then be removed. The light section inside can then be removed, although it is a bit of a learn as you go exercise and fiddly is an appropriate description.

I replaced the first bulb that blew with an LED, and they are available in both warm and cool white. I chose cool as the light produced is much "cleaner', but the preference is a personal one. Take the old bulb with you when buying the replacement as there are different diameters and pin sizes.

The LED lasted probably 12-18 months with a fair bit of use and when I mentioned to the LED specialist that I expected greater life, he enquired if the bulb was enclosed (which it is) and so recommended to provide a bit of air flow if possible. The "gold" surround is plastic so I drilled a 13mm hole at the back where it cannot be seen when I was replacing the bulb.

Time will tell if this helps with bulb life.

Hope this helps.

Hello Barry,

Very much appreciated, I didn't see that little slot in the rear.

Too busy trying to get the front cover of the bulb.

I appreciate your response and will follow your advice to the letter.

All good now thanks kindly.

Regards

Greg
