I have check with the camp site and Have been informed that it full as expected . Any one got advise on any other camp site near by. Picked a rout going in by Longreach ,Winton, Boulia hope to stay 4 to 5 nights all advise will be appreciated. Thinking of fitting a UHF radio to the cruiser. TonyH Posted June 14, 2018 Report Share Posted June 14, 2018 Great idea, to be carrying spare wheel bearings for the van.....dont forget hub seals and grease. Merv and Di Posted June 15, 2018 Report Share Posted June 15, 2018 Hi Kevin & Judy There is bush (free) camping both sides of the road as you come into Birdsville between the river and the town itself. Camping between the river and the actual race course is reserved for the trainers/horses. They have water taps now on one side of the road and during the races they have rubbish bins and portable toilets on the other.
