Auto trans cooler necessity?

:helpsmilie:

Picking up our new TE towards end of April and we have just bought a 2004 100 series 5 speed auto turbo diesel landcruiser to tow with. Does anybody have any experience or advice re. necessity for fitting an extra Auto Trans cooler for towing. (We have been towing a 2.3 tonne caravan in N.Z. with an 80 series and we had an extra cooler added as it was highly recommended for this model.)

Thanks.

Hi kereru,

An additional oil cooler wouldn't be a bad idea, also consider fitting an additional inline auto trans oil filter (available from an auto trans specialist....these can also be fitted to power steering lines)

Suggest you have transmission checked/serviced every 20,000k's.

Remember a little check now is better than a big cheque later.

CU down the road...

It should already have it as standard. My 2005 has one as standard.

Wont need an extra one. I fitted a VDO auto temp guage and my 5 speed auto temp has never gone over 75°c towing our XC3 at 3500 kgs
