  1. Thanks Colin We are in fact in the are and stayed at The Boulders last Thursday night. I agree, it is a lovely spot. A smaller area than the one closer to Babinda, but much quieter. We didn't do a swim, but it was a nice walk to the Boulders. We saw Josephine Falls last time we were up here and loved the walk there also. We are currently in Cairns and moving on to Ellis Beach next weekend for a week. We have a beachfront site booked. It's certainly a lovely part of the country up here. Hi to the kids.
  2. We had something similar happen to us with our previous van, and it turned out to be a fuse. Not saying that is your solution, but I guess you've checked the obvious.
  3. No problem Colin. Thanks anyway.
  4. Yes, saw that thanks Colin. All done now anyway Got a perfect fit.
  5. Hi Roddo Thanks for taking the time to post. Yes, I was searching for some info on that Genny slide when our van was being built back in January, and as you suggested I got in touch with a metal worker who made the tray. I used the sliders from a Black Widow slide. It was a tight fit, but with some tweaking, the 2.4 Yamaha fits (just). Thanks again.
  6. Merv With only 10 days until pickup, I have serious doubts it will arrive in time and Kedron will not fit them after pickup. They will put up every excuse they can think of as to why you don't need one, as they don't like fitting them at all. They can be very fiddly. Good luck. Sue
  7. Hi Sue We are on our second Kedron, and our second SOG. Would not have a van without one. They are wonderful. No odours and definitely no #2's going where they shouldn't. We leave it in the full setup mode even when travelling. We also only use Napisan. Tell Ian he won't be sorry. It's money well spent.

    Generator

We visited the local Yamaha service agent regarding this issue and it appears this is a common and known problem with this particular generator. The fix is - take it to your service agent for a "spring adjustment". Haven't had ours done yet as we were pressed for time, but will look at getting this attended to in the next few weeks.
  9. Thanks for those tips Roger. We had heard of similar happening to the diesel heater air intake pipe. When our van was built recently Kedron put our intake in the boot which keeps a nice circulation over the batteries as it draws air into the boot from the side air vents. Also makes it a bit hard for those critters to get in there. As for the exhaust for the diesel, we put an appropriately sized rubber stopper (used for the bottom of chair legs) over the end. Just have to remember to take it off before we turn the heater on. Never thought of the water tank overflows though, so will get out there in the next couple of days and apply your shade cloth and cable tie solution. Thanks again.
  10. I would certainly politely bring it to Kedron's attention. After all it's only 3 years old. You just never know.
  11. Now that is the best simple description of a setup I have ever read. Even I could understand it. Thanks Russ
  12. Thanks for the good wishes everyone. We are now home and the Kedron is safely tucked away for the night. We are so pleased with everything, and now can't wait to get away in it. Hope to catch up with some of you on the road. Cheers
  13. A special order that Kedron are not too keen to repeat. Took a bit of time and fiddling to perfect. But glad we persisted.
  14. A foot rest pulls out from the ends of each of the cafe seats. So if you turn sideways and lean against the wall to watch TV, you can stretch out with a foot rest under your feet.
  15. Hey, thanks guys. Couldn't wish for a better present. It will certainly be wrapped in a nice silver wrapping. Hopefully waterproof with all this rain about. Auto Sat Dish, Diesel heater, grey water tank, foot rests and even a shoe cupboard and charge cupboard. Somewhere to put all the camera, phone and chainsaw/drill batteries to charge, instead of all over the benchtops and table. It even has a servery bench from the kitchen to the cafe seating. The Gall Boys have once again done a fantastic job. Hope to catch up with you guys on the road sometime. Now that we're also full time travellers, we're bound to pass each other somewhere out there. Travel safe.
  16. Good on you Chris. I know you bring a wealth of information with you. All the best.
  17. Kedron will not fit them to already built vans, but I know of at least three that have gone through the build recently with them installed (ours was one of them). I agree that it is the way things are going. Perhaps talk to Atlas Tanks Colin. They are on the Sunshine Coast. Pickup is tomorrow. Very excited !
  18. I have been given a couple of photos from Tom at the Kedron factory from someone who contacted Black Widow to have a low profile custom made fridge slide made. I have contacted Black Widow and they confirm they made the fridge slide, but they did not make the genny slide. As you can see they are very similar, but I am interested in the genny slide in particular and contacting the owner to obtain more information on the slides. The number plate on the Patrol is "Damage", so shouldn't be hard to spot. So if you're the owner and you are reading this, please in contact me as I'd love to have a chat. Cheers
  19. Hi Rod, We highly recommend Julie Dunkley from Camp Shades. Julie required half a dozen measurements and even we were able to follow the easy instructions on where to hold the tape measure. The sides arrived in their own little shade cloth bag and were absolutely perfect. The finish was very professional. We know a couple of people who have used Julie and also highly recommend her work. 20. Hi Tony, I believe the Sundowner Rockbank Caravan Park at 2057-2083 Western Hwy, Rockbank is pet friendly. Phone No. (03) 9747 1340 Web Link Cheers
  21. Hi Rick, I believe they stand up quite well. Kedron are putting them in all the ensuite vans now. But yes, the other would probably be more sturdy. Thanks for your input. Maybe someone out there who has one of the swivel toilets can let us know how it is going (over rough roads). Cheers
  22. Doris & Rob We are also measuring things very carefully and working out where to put the corner basin, and which toilet we will have. The options are to have a wall to wall toilet with no drop down basin and the corner basin on the opposite wall in the corner. (Same wall as the shower rose). .......or have a freestanding toilet, coming from the side wall, but you can swivel it to face the length of the bathroom when in use, and back to straight across when using the shower. This may enable us to put the small corner basin along the same wall. Bit hard to explain, so I've included a couple of drawings......not to scale Will do some measurement next week to see which one might work the best.

    Head units

We have had a VMS in the 100 Series Cruiser for a couple of years now, and love it. We run OziExplorer constantly when on a trip and have heaps of maps. Not absolutely convinced Route 66 on the VMS is the best, so we have Tom Tom on my iPhone to help locate the Camps Aus Wide POI's. Would also definately have it in the next vehicle.
  24. Hi Rick and Lea. I agree completely with your thinking. We had the basin over the toilet in our last van and with this one I have requested no drop down basin (and yes it does drop down over rough roads - we taped ours up most of the time) and instead we are putting in a small corner basin (in one corner above the toilet).
