  1. We had similar problems with our RPD215. It just wouldn't perform and was chewing up too much power. We bit the bullet and replaced it with the RPD-218 which is a way better design. Many thanks Nev for the advice on getting the changeover done hassle free. cheers Stu
  2. We had a grey water tank and some other work done and found the Kedron service crew does an excellent job. For us they have gone above and beyond. A big thank you to Robin, Ash and the team. cheers Stu and Jean
  3. Thats great to hear Tony, we have just switched over to Toyo AT OC 2's on 17inch wheels. Ive kept two grandtrecks HT's as spares. Cant wait to hook up and hit the road. cheers Stu
  4. Hi Jim, We had a P3 in our 100 series. Now we have a nice new 200 series and it came with a tow pack fitted with the new Redarc Tow Pro. It works really well,is proportional and a lot easier to operate than the P3. Im really happy with it. Its not the same unit as the older solid state type that arent proportional. If you have stability control fitted to the van such as DSC you will need a load resistor fitted but thats about all. We had a remote type VHF fitted that has all the controls on the microphone. Its mounted behind in the middle of the dash out of sight. I had a good auto electrician fit it. Hope that helps Cheers Stu
  5. Hi Tony, The mirrors arrived today just in time for me to fit them before our week long trip. The instruction DVD was great. Many thanks. Cheers Stu
  6. Hi Tony, Many many thanks for the prompt service and fantastic deal. I (Stu that is ) cant wait to get them on the new 200 series when they arrive. Cheers Jean and Stu
  7. Hi Tony, I was wondering if you could give us a price for a LC 200 series, 2015 model, black finish, electric with indicators. Post code 4021. Thanks Cheers Stuart
  8. Hi Terry, Even though we don't get any sway there's always the risk that one time there may an incident that gets out of control so I looked the ESC and then heard about the Dexter unit. http://dexteraxle.com/i/u/6149609/f/product_flyers/Sway_Control.pdf We did a bit of research and spoke to the people at Melbourne Trailers about how it works etc. I was really happy with it, we didnt have to change brake brands plus we get a discount with insurance. Vehicle Components in Geebung installed the unit and they did a great. So far we havn't done a lot of towing with it and our Kedron is great to tow anyway so its hard to say how it performs. The main thing I am happy about is that if we have a bad sway incident from various causes we will have a better chance of it ending well (peace of mind). One thing to watch is when it is installed the power is connected to the correct side of the current shunt not the battery side. Hope this helps. After we do a few more trips I'll post up another report. Cheers Stu
  9. Thanks Sue, I was thinking along the same lines but thought I'd ask the question. Once the brake backing plates etc are added in it does get expensive. Our van tows like a dream as well so I think we'll give it a miss. The next time it goes into the factory for a service we'll get a McHitch fitted and that will do I think. cheers Stu
  10. Hi All, Just wondering if anyone has tried the Al-ko Electronic Stability Control (ESC). I'm toying with the idea of having it retrofitted but wondered if it’s really worth the cost of replacing the brake backing plates with Al-ko plates so it can be installed plus the cost of the system itself. Its easy enough to disable the ESC for off road use by pulling out the ESC vehicle connector so that isnt a problem. Cheers Stu
  11. We did the Old Ghan about 8 weeks ago, travelling with just the 4WD and tent. We dropped in to Chambers Pillar (very very corregated road in) then headed down the Old Ghan to Finke. The road was like a sandy highway but there are lots and lots of railway spikes. It would either be a very easy trip or a very expensive one depending on how many flat tyres you have. We were lucky and had none. We turned at Finke to head to Kulgera and dropped in to Lamberts Geographic Centre Of Aust. The road in to Lamberts was very very corregated with closed in trees/scrub. I wouldnt take a van in to Lamberts. Better to unhitch. Cheers Stu
  12. We looked high and low for a van we both liked that was reasonably priced. We wanted offroad touring capability, aluminium frame, strong chassis/suspension, dependability, stand alone (solar) with shower and toilet. After a lot of looking we found a second hand ATV, in excellent condition, that was fully set up and even has a diesel heater. Apart from normal servicing there is nothing we need to do to it. When we were looking at it I could tell my that my wife liked it as much as I did. We had found our Kedron. The only thing we needed to buy for it was a Stormcover so it isn't out in the weather when we are at home. In the next few months she will be going in to the factory to visit Tom for a routine service. Cheers Stue
  13. Hi Paul and Sheryl, Thanks for that. Does that mean you used the rubber as a filter. How far did you leave the front hatch open and did you block off the door vent as well. cheers Stue and Jean
  14. Thanks for that. We might try the slide mod as well. We have air bags and heavy duty suspension but the WDH gives a bit more peace of mind when on the blacktop. Cheers Stue
  15. Hi, Has anyone tried leaving one of the forward facing vents on one of the 4 season hatch's open slightly to presurise the van a bit so it doesnt suck in the dust. I havn't tried it yet but the theory sounds ok. cheers Stue
  16. Well done. Do you use a WDH with it. Thats the only thing Im not sure about. cheers Stue
  17. Hi All Thanks for the replies. Sounds like ours is pretty good by the sounds of things. I'll cross that job off the list.
  18. Hi All, We are new to the forum and have a second hand 2003 kedron ATV which we are very very happy with. One question I have is in regard to the basin in the combination toilet shower. It doesnt seem to drain as easily as it should. If I tilt it up slightly it drains really well but when its fully down it drains but not as well. Its not a biggy but is annoying. It does it when the van is level so I can rule that out. I was wondering if anyone had experience with this happening in these basins. Cheers Stue
  19. The full service sounds like the go. We've sent in an expression of interest for the auto coupler when they become available and a full service while the van's in at the factory. cheers Stue
  20. Thanks Rod for the news on the auto coupler. I think I'll wait untill the 4.7 tonne unit comes out. I spoke to Tom last week and he said he didnt expect the couplers to be in stock untill mid April. Cheers Stue
