  1. Hi Reece, Ditto to you and Penny. Can you pm me your contact details? Rang the mobile but got the 'office'. We can then keep in touch. Ian
  2. Hi All, There is a new service agent for Vitrifrigo, Waeco and Engel fridges etc. in WA. His details are: Findlay Refrigeration, Brent Findlay, Unit 7, 29 McIntyre Way, Kenwick WA 6107 ph. 0412 994 535 Brent worked for the previous service agent for approx. 10 years. He has just replaced the evaporator in our Vitrifrigo with the new style that eliminates the gap at the top. Very happy with his work. Cheers, Ian
  3. Hi Bryan, We have installed an Oyster and it works really well. Ian
  4. Hi Rick & Glen, Thanks for the mounting instructions, Rick! Glen, does the Redarc unit have an output to monitor the inputs and outputs of the batteries as the PL60 solar charger? That is, can we monitor power usage/cahrge etc. from inside the van? Cheers, Ian
  5. Hi Glen, Thanks for your input. As I don't have a great need to charge anything in the tug, am probably leaning to mounting in the van. Decisions, decisions. Cheers, Ian
  6. Hi Danny & Sue, I am considering installing one of these and would appreciate your advice on a few points (excuse my ignorance): - Is it mounted under the bonnet of your car (so only works when the engine is on)? - How have you 'run' your solar panels (off the caravan I presume) thru this unit? - Can you read the input to the batteries as part of our daily amps input ie. solar plus BCDC charger? - Are you still happy with it? I would apprecaite your advice, Cheers, Ian
  7. Hi All, On our recent trip to NT, our 4yo Yamaha 2.4 generator started over revving and not adjusting to load levels. I have just been advised that the 'controller' is rs and will cost $1,500.00 to replace! Not bad for a part that sits on top of the carby and is approx. 25mm x 25mm x 25mm!!!!' Not impressed, so looks like we are in the market for a new genny (not a Yamaha obviously). Has anyone got an udate on the Genquip 3300? Cheers, Ian
  8. Hi All, This thread in the LCool 200 series site might be of interest to 200 series owners wanting to increase their towing limit: />http://www.lcool.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5243&highlight=engineer I am trying to find his contact deatils and will post if successful. Ian
  9. Grahame, An update - the car ferry to Cowell is no longer running (so we were advised). Ian
  10. We have just returned this week and can advise that the crabs were thick in Smokey Bay (caravan park, though). $5.00 per night stay at Haslam midway between Smokey/Steaky Bays is a good spot, as is Perlubie Beach, Farm Bay, Point Lowly and our favourite - Liscomb Bay. Fishing wasn't great (too cold) but there were some big snapper caught at Point Lowly, though we arrived the day before a month fishing ban started! Just some of our favourite spots, though there are many more. Have a great trip, everyone. Ian
  11. Hi All, Can anyone let me know where I can buy the adjustable bolt in the Hyland Hitch coupling? I am having trouble locating a supplier here in Perth. Thanks, Ian
  12. Hi Everryone, We need to upgrade our analogue tv to digital in our TE. Has anyone got any recomendations? Ian Brown
  13. Hi Everyone, I am thinking about relocating my batteries from the front boot to under the bed in our 18' TE (to be nearer to the vans suspension and hence further away from the tow ball}. My thoughts are that this should have a significant effect on my tow ball weight that is approx. 380 kg's without the outboard loaded. Has anyone any thoughts on this, positive or negative? Regards, Ian
  14. Hi Everyone, We are camped at Haslam in SA at the moment and are having some fun with our batteries/solar controller. Before we left Perth, we had our controller upgraded from a PL40 to a PL60 (4 panels and 3 batteries) as we have had some funny experiences with our power over the past 12 months. Our batteries were load tested and confirmed ok. As an example, this morning our PLM showed SOC at 73% but the DATV was 10.8 volts. At 9.00 am the load in and out was balanced at approx. 4 amps (bearing mind the comments on the accuracy noted above) but the DATV varied wildy by up to 2 volts and still 'flashed' when showing 12.2 volts. Our van is 3.5 years old and has been performing well in the past. Not being an electrician, the information posted above will be of great assistance once we get back to Perth, but if anyone has some thoughts on whats going on, we would appreciate your comments. Ian & Jill
  15. Hi Russ, Could you elaborate on the solar charger wiring as we have been having intermittent problems with our PL40 solar charger. Our TE is a Dec. 07 delivery. Regards, Ian
  16. Bill, We got Kedron to send over the required piece of laminate and repaired it ourselves (we have a cabinet making business). Why not get a quote from a local cabinet maker and talk to Kedron about the costs. Regards, Ian
  17. Bill, Where are the carcks? Ours were at the rear of the stove cutout and were due to the internal corners being square. We removed the laminate, slightly radiussed the corners (hidden by the stove trims) re-laminted the top and had no futher problems. Ian
  18. Can anyone explain the use of the 12 volt / 240 volt power switch in the front boot? We have generally left it on 12 volt whether we are using the genie etc. but am unsure if this is correct. Any input would be appreciated. Ian
  19. Hi Everyone, Can anyone that has upgraded from a 100 LC to a 200 LC let me know of any changes that needsto be made to the weight distribution hitch? I understand that the tow ball is higher, as it comes out of the rear bumper and we have had the 200 kg suspension upgrade done as well (50mm higher o/a). Any advice would be appreciated. Ian Brown
  20. Hi Chris & Lyn, Our '06 100 series loaded with 3.70m dinghy, custom boat loader, rear drawer system, 3 storage boxes etc. etc. weighed in at 3160 kg's which from memory is under the vehicles tare weight (car has been upgraded to a 200 series - only because of the govt. generous investment allowance). The car towed our 18' TE really well. Hope this helps, Ian
  21. Hi all, has anyone come accross the VMS 7023 Navigation system? Previously we had the Eclipse unit which worked well, but we are looking at all options for the new 200 TD. Any input would be appreciated. Ian & Jill Brown
  22. Hi Kimbo, Thanks for the offer, any pics or other info would be most appreciated. BTW what kg suspension upgrade did you fit and did this include Polairs? Regards, Ian & Jill
  23. Thanks Kimbo, Your battery setup is the same as our current 100 series and we will replicate. We have to wait another 3 weeks ar so for delivery and then off doing some travelling with the TE in tow. Regards, Ian & Jill
  24. Has anyone fitted an extra battery to their 200 series? ARB put in a 3rd batterery but it only rated at 50 amp/hr. Seems hardly worth doing at that size. Any advice would be appreciated. Ian Brown
  25. Thanks everyone for your input/advice. We have 'bitten the bullet' and ordered a GXL 200 series for delivery in December. Can't wait for our next trip in Feb 10 - Perth to Eyre Peninsular (some quality fishing) then up to North Qld for 4-5 months. Having never been 'up there' we will be seeking some info on places to go and see, in due course. Once again thanks to all. Ian & Jill Brown
