  1. Our Van is a 2008 21ft Top Ender and we are very happy with it. The thing that has gone wrong with it when we did the Gibb River Road in 2010 was that the power Circuit Breaker dropped off which turned the mains power off. After some cussing and kick things around in bad temper I found that the breaker was off. So with quit a bit of humility I quietly turned it on and behaved like the gentleman that I am. To sum Up Best Van on the market and the after sale service is unequalled in the trade
  2. I have joined the site and I find refreshing that people of like mind regardless of their choice in Vans, can talk about their experiences and post photos. It's a great site and you may learn a few trick along the way. I highly recommend the site

    Auto coupler

Hi Stu, Yes we do, when we had the Auto coupler fitted by Joe Mc Ginnes he modified the Hinged coupling that hooks onto the chains to allow it to slide rather than be fixed. But,however I can see that the WDH would not be manditory if you as I do have air bag assist on the rear springs. Tex

    Auto coupler

Hi Folks, I have done it, I had the new Auto Coupler retro fitted to my LC76 and Top Ender by Joe Mc Guinnes at Lithgow,( had the Mc Hitch fitted by Tom 2 yrs ago). Just great easy to hitch up and disconnect. Best money I've spent, I can recommend this set up to all.
  5. Hi Carl & Tricia, I had a similar problem and it was resolved with new monitor and replacing the wiring at the barn doors as the wiring had frayed at that point. But if you are within the warranty period you can get the whole system replaced. Tex
  6. G'day John and Colin, I have a 6 ton McHitch and love it but in say that I've contacted Joe at Lithgow and he stated that the existing hitch can be retro fit with the new coupling for about $180.00. so .When you start adding up the pennies it is a cheaper option than buying the complete unit would you say. Tex
  7. Hi Savo, I got mine when I purchased my LC76, as far as cost unknown tech details yep!!. All I know is it works Tex
  8. Hi Rob, I have a ERP unit installed on my LC76 and I can assure you that the truck is not rusting. This unit uses a electronic pulse to prevent corrosion. Tex
  9. Hi All, Just been in the BOG forum and learned about a new free APP that has just been released. It is Australian Bites and Stings it very comprehensive on all manner of bites and stings of all Australian critters.

  11. Hi to All, We and I mean Carol and myself are still here at Standown Park having a lovely time with Rod and Pam. We enjoyed the Kedron Gathering and love the atmosphere that you all generated a great meeting. Unfortunately another Caravan Club has arrived with a completely opposite attitude to life. Even the others that are regulars here at Standown have made comment of the difference between the two groups. This Caravan Club which will remain nameless is decidedly unfriendly to everybody outside their club. But on a brighter note the regulars including Rod and Pam have commented on the friendly attitude of the KOGGERs and that they all enjoyed your Friendly and pleasant out look . Again as first timers at a gathering both Carol and I had a very enjoyable time with you all, thanks for having us. Carol and Ian
  12. Hi Richard, You will find that there are qty 4 bolts/srcew/fasters that secure the mirror to your LC76/79/ all 70 series LC. T he top 2 utilise the original mounting holes, the second 2 are drilled lower down on the door. The additional 2 have a backing plate to secure the mirrors to the door. and the job only took about 1 hour to complete. I am more than happy with mine. Tex
  13. Hi Richard and Tony, I have the Clear view mirrors fitted to my LC76 and yes they drill 2 holes in each door to give additional security for the mounting. See the web site. I am more than happy with the mirrors and would recommend them to everybody that may be interested in fitting them. They can be supplied and fitted by ARB TJM at the same price as at the factory. The best mirrors ever. Tex
  14. Hi All, We have done the GRR, the Plenty Hwy and the Oonandatta track and we didn't use the WD bars at all. After watch the video of the Gall Boys ripping off the tow bar on their Toyota Prado. I would suggest that when in doubt don't.
  15. Well there you with all the good advice we missed the obvious, but still you and we all are much wiser for the experience.
  16. Regardless of who got a free knob or paid for one, everyone have a merry christmas and a very safe new year.
  17. I had the same problem with my BBQ and had a gas fitter check it out at the cost $80. Then I rang Sovereign and they told me that the problem was the knob and it would cost $35. for a replacement. So I ordered 1, but the wife asked me what was wrong with the knob so I explained. ie there is a little flange inside of the hole that prevents the brass shaft to far into the knob this flange is meant to assist in pushing the shaft in allowing the gas to flow. if the flange is broken or worn the gas wont flow after releasing the knob. So little miss smarty pants said put some aluminium foil in the hole and guess what it hasn't failed me since and I have a spare knob to boot.
  18. Hi. I contacted RV Electronics RVE ref the charging and monitoring of the Break Safe system. Yes you can connect to the house batteries for recharging and also RVE informed me that they sell a monitor for installation on dash for $80 approx. This monitor is activated every time you apply your brakes GREEN light for fully charged unit batt and RED with audible alarm for discharged batt. The other news that was imparted is that NSW is making it compulsory to fit the monitor with all Vehicles towing vans reg in NSW. I hope this helps PS. I have fitted the monitor and find comforting knowing the Break Safe Batt is charged Tex
  19. Hi Pete& Lyn I have a LC 76 and I had ARB up grade the suspension and added air bags to the rear. But, alas I found that it was not what I required. However I have since found out that SAX suspension has a better option which I am going to invest in. I would strongly suggest SAXS. Tex
  20. Hi All I had the same problem and I found it was the silicone. To remedy the problem I use a sharp blade to trim the edges of the silicone and then use a damp sponge to clean the unwanted brown residue from the walls of the van and hey presto no more problems. Regards Tex
  21. Hi Debbie,

I am having troubles trying to become a financial member of the club, Maybe you could set me in the right direction. All my details are available in my profile, just help me

  22. Hi again, I sound like an echo. We are at Stand down Park near Tin Can Bay and yes it is wet. I have started to grow webbing between the toes. Luckily we have a great camp kitchen here and good company, the owners of the park Rod and Pam often come down and sit and chat, and yes we all tell tall tales and just shoot the breeze. No rank discrimination here just a mob of civvies and old soldiers relaxing. Well worth the effort to stay it's not like most parks we've been too its just like being at home with friends. Tex
  23. Hi All, After reading all the direction on the Fantastic vent site we were able to remove the fan blades with an simple allen key. She who must be obeyed (Carol) is very delighted with me as usual I was able to solve the problem. The vent now look like new with no stiff neck. If when you go to the site click on the 5000 series vent and in the right margin there is a cleaning tab click on that and bingo it shows you how to remove the blades.
  24. Hi to All My wife got into a bit of a flap about cleaning the fans on our Fantastic Vents. She asked Know it all (me) to remove the fan blade so they could wash them. Now here's the problem how do you get the little buggers out. THINK I said to myself, so whilst I was pondering the problem she who must be obeyed jump onto the dreaded computer and bingo there on the US site for Fantastic Vents are the cleaning instructions and more information than you could poke a stick at. So now Know it all has a little more knowledge on the maintenance of his beloved Top Ender. see www.fantasticvent.com Tex
