Craig, I have sent you an email. Yes, I am interested. If you don't get my email respond on this thread. One of my concerns with the Silverado is tyres. Am I right in thinking they come with either 18 inch or 20 inch and tyres in those sizes are hard to come by away from the big cities. My van has 16 inch rims. Also Craig, what hitch do you have? Tony, yes. I still have you in mind but I am getting more and more interested in the Silverado due to the merging of safety and capacity they offer. Regards to all Colin

Greg and Mary, welcome and congratulations on your Kedron and TE3 decision. You are in for a wonderful time. Our TE is nearly five years old and has given us great pleasure and experiences. Sometimes, while sipping a good red in some wonderful spot, we ask each other "If we purchased another van what would we change from this one?" The answer is always "nothing". I have a six tonne McHitch and it has been just great. Others are better qualified than me to comment on WDH and I have no knowledge of your optioned suspension system. Hello Koggers, My 100 Series TD is getting to the stage of being replaced. Replacement is a $100,000 or thereabouts decision. There is no doubt that the Landcruiser is the most common vehicle seen with a Kedron in tow. However, the Silverado is gaining popularity. I love my Tojo but the extra towing and load carrying capacity of the Silverado is attractive. Within our membership there is a wealth of experience with both vehicles. Which way should I go? In 2007 Gayleen and I attended the Brisbane caravan and camping show. For several years we had been renting Maui motorhomes to explore the country too the north and west of our home in Cairns. We knew very little about caravans but liked the RV lifestyle. At the show we looked at lots of caravans with the last on a long list being the Kedron. We had never heard of the brand but we were very impressed with the vans, the build and the Kedron people on the stand. On that day I said "when we buy a van it will be a KEDRON". Over the next two years we kept in touch with Jan who was patient and very helpful. We took delivery of our van in October 2009 and it has been fantastic! The whole Kedron experience from the quality and functionality of the product, the Kedron staff and attitudes to the many Kedron owners we have met, has been fantastic. With three generations involved in the family company of Kedron there is every chance that that "experience" will last for a long time yet to come. I hope so. Colin

Hello Koggers, Here I am in a cold, foggy, dark Finley NSW having finished the Corner Country Trip at Parachilna almost two weeks ago. It was a great trip, very enjoyable, and we were blessed with roads that were in good condition, beautiful scenery which we all marvelled at, good weather, and great company together. Unfortunately, two of our group, Andrew and Sally and Stewart and Carol, were forced to depart our company before we reached Parachilna. Andrew had a badly infected tooth that eventually saw him forced to return to Sydney from Coward Sprigs. Stewart and Carol departed from Farina, a couple of days before the end of the trip, to be with Carol's ailing Dad. Thankfully, both situations have been resolved for the better. I will get around to writing a trip report some time soon which I will publish on this site. Once again, it was great travelling with friends from last year's Outback Way trip as well as new friends who joined us this year. The group consisted of a many characters all of whom made their special contribution during the trip. Also, once again, the ability of the group to fix almost every problem was remarkable. For my part, I derive great satisfaction from learning that many of the participants "would not travel in such places" by themselves. Also, I personally have learnt so much from from the pooled talents of the group. After Parachilna, we travelled to the Clare And Barossa Valley's in the company of Grant, Jane, Neville and Penny. That was also great fun and the days were spent sipping and eating! Thank you to all those who joined the trip. We will keep in touch. Regards, Colin and Gayleen. Hello Hermit, Like John, I am no expert. However, I had a similar problem and it was a blown 30 amp fuse located on top of the left hand battery as you look into the front boot. Regards Colin

Hello, We are now in Coober Pedy. Our trip down the Birdsville Track and up the Oodnadatta Track has been just fantastic. The roads have been in good condition generally and at times, excellent condition. The country side is beautiful, surprisingly green. We have long periods of no traffic in either direction which makes for enjoyable touring. We were all excited to see Lake Eyre from the lookout on the Oodnadatta Track. Our decision to stop in Wiliam Creek to allow rain to pass proved to be a good call. The next day was bright and clear and except for some short stretches of really greasy conditions the road north was in good condition. The further north we travelled to dryer the road became. We used Oodnadatta as a refuel stop only and headed out into the painted desert for a night at Arckaringa Station. The before dawn trip out to the painted hills was fantastic as the day dawned clear and sunny to reveal those magic scenes. Yesterday we had a great drive to Coober Pedy, beautiful scenery along a road in excellent condition. We have two nights here. Then we head south via William Creek, Lake Etre South and eventually to Farina. Colin

Hi Chris, We are in William Creek after having our trip today to Oodnadatta halted due to the rain. We are staying here overnight. Whenever and wherever I saw the Cooper, except way down at the bottom of the Birdsville Track, it had plenty of water. Ido not believe it is flowing and is probably a series of large water holes. When we were in Innaminka the Coongie Lakes road was closed due to the rain we experienced. We are having a lot of fun on what has been a good trip so far. Kind regards Colin

Hello Koggers, We are in Birdsville. The trip has been great travelling through fairly remote country from Tibooburra to Cameron Corner, then via Merty Merty and the original Strezleki Track to Innaminka. We received a right royal reception in Innaminka (more on that later) where we camped for two days on the Town Common. We had some unseasonal and extensive rain while in Innaminka but the heaviest falls were to the north in the Cordillo area. The rain prevented access to Innaminka airport and prevented the early morning flight landing. We had a do your own thing day and a group went to the dig tree for a sausage sizzle and a cold beer. While there we met the Ranger who is known as Duck. He is a really nice man. When we were about to leave he offered to show us a shortcut out of there. We forded Cooper Creek and took a Private "closed" track back to the main road. Saved us 20 km. Good fun. Due to the rain we decided to avoid Cordillo Downs road and head for Hadden Corner. After all, it is the Corner Country trip! That decision turned out to be a winner with eleven Kedron caravans climbing over the two significant sand dunes just before the corner post. We Did it and formed a circle to camp the night. A couple of camper trailers turned up and we somewhat surprised to see eleven Kedrons there!! Getting back over those dunes was even more fun it he next morning. More on that later. Yesterday we travelled from Hadden Corner to Birdsville along roads that are in pretty good shape. Had our Happy Hour in the Birdsville Pub. All is well, the flies are unbelievable and we now look forward to our trip down the Birdsville Track. Hi Greg ans Cathy, We are missing you as well. Tony and Annie joined us today after a mammoth drive from the Hunter to Tibooburra in one and a half days! Had a great get together dinner at the Family hotel tonight. Lots of laughter and friendship. It is shaping up as a great trip. Travel safely wherever you may go. Great to keep in touch. Hello Koggers, Well, here we are! Ten Kedrons parked in Tibooburra CP and about to embark on the Corner Country Trip. We have one moe participant to join us, hopefully tomorrow. Tomorrow is a do your own thing day until 5.00 PM when we have our first trip briefing followed by dinner in the famous Family Hotel with all its wonderful and famous paintings. It is really enjoyable being with a group of fellow Koggers, many friends from adventures past. This trip is shaping up to be a good one! Regards Colin

Chris, Shorts and T Shirts are formal wear in FNQ, especially if you are dressed in thongs as well. Saw a sign outside a pub dining room which read "Dress Rules. No blue singlets or bare feet after 6 PM. White singlets and thongs are OK." We are in Tambo where it is cold. Have the diesel heater on. Regards Colin

Hello, Getting close now. It is great to know that the Corner Country participants are now converging on Tibooburra in NW NSW. We will all meet there on the 20th of May. We are really Looking forward to the trip. For our part we are at this moment in the Pelican CP in Winton where last years Outback Way trip started. Beautiful weather. Tomorrow, Longreach, one of our favourite country towns. The caravans on the road are starting to multiply, mainly headed north. It has occurred to me that I have organised a trip in the southern States in Winter. What was I thinking,,,!! Actually, we are enjoying the cooler weather after a fairly hot summer at home in Cairns.
