Ian and Jill Brown
Hi,I am thinking about mounting a bike rack on the rear of our TE and between the spare tyres, so the bikes will be located behind the tyres. The number plate would still be clearly visible. Will this break any laws in the e/s?Cheers,Ian
TonyH
I wouldn't think so, if the number plate & lights aren't obscured you will be OK.You may want to have a look at the recent post, re number plate positioning.Have a safe & enjoyable trip! Ian and Jill Brown
Hi Tony,Thanks for your reply.Yes I followed the number plate post, but on this trip to Cairns, we will 'wing it', as we arelooking at ordering a new TE on the way home.Cheers,Ian
Big Mike
Hi Ian Was wondering if you found a bike rack with a long enough reach to mount the bikes behind your spares? I'd like to do the same on my ATV but I haven't found anything suitable so far. Might have to get something custom made. Also, thought you might like to look at this Youtube of a rear bumper (not on a Kedron) overloaded by a poorly mounted bike rack. >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIwtglKiBwk Cheers Mike
Merv and Di
Hi Ian. Why don't you simply put a double Fiamma bike rack on the "A" Frame, this is where Kedron fit them. Simple matter to bolt on and lot safer there than out the back where there is a greater chance of losing it due to the extremes of movement at this location.
