Where are you right now?

Hi everyone.

i wonder where everyone is right now?  The festive season is almost on us and many will be either out and about or at least organising a trip.  It would be great to hear where you all are.

We are on a four week trip away from our home in SA, and currently enjoying cooler than usual weather at Deep Creek Conservation Park near Victor Harbor.  Tomorrow we head South East, calling in to a couple of possible spots on our way to Mount Gambier and then on to Port MacDonnell.  I think we will stay a day or two at the Coorong 42 mile camp and a night or two at Kingston SE.

So where is everyone else?

Hi all,

Annie & I have just arrived at ‘The  Pines’ CP Belmont (Newcastle).

We are here till early January catching up with family & friends for the festive season, before venturing further south and taking the ferry to the apple isle for three months.

If you are out and about......travel safe!

Just about every Kedron from RVHB is in Tasmania, as well as others we know.  We might have to come over!

At this present time we are at Kenilworth Showgrounds with other happy Kedron people to have a good time at our Christmas gathering.

it is a bit wet under foot, but that is OK. We are familiar with wet weather.

Oh that does sound nice.  Fairly similar to our weather over the last week, on the Fleurieu Peninsular, SA.  However, now on the Coorong, and it is wet and cool.  Talk about a difference in 24 hours.

This special spot is where we are camped right now.  It is on a volcanic crater, now used as a local camping, swimming, fishing and water sports area.  What a view!  And although it is a bit isolated, we have a flushing toilet nearby, a tap, telephone and Internet, and terrestrial TV!

it is in the Mount Gambier region.

We are now at Mount Gambier in South Australia’s Limestone Coast.  You understand, Mt G is not actually on the coast, but that is the name of the region.  It is so hot and windy today that we moved to a powered site at the Showgrounds this morning.

It is a great spot; power and water on nice green grass, for $22 a night.  We have been camping at a national park for a few nights (42 Mile Crossing on the Coorong) and then two nights camping at the Kingston RV park which is $10 for two nights.  Kingston obviously recognises the value of visitors.  It was busy there as you would expect in the Summer school holidays, but not too bad.  We got that lovely spot down the back behind the shady tree....

Our plan is to stay at Mt Gambier until Monday when we move over to Lower Glenelg National Park to a riverside campground.

We are now in a really special place.  The small town of Moyston, Victoria, has a Recreation Reserve in which they provide power and water sites for $10 a night.  The Reserve is quite lovely and has a heap of sporting facilities like a tennis court, netball court, cricket, football oval and a boules court.  While there is not much in the town (a small general store and cafe) it is right on the doorstep of the Grampians.  Here we are, under the pine trees

We have arrived at Kalbar Showgrounds for the Kedron Australia Day weekend. Looking forward to a great weekend with other Kedron owners. Now that we are all set up we are enjoying a cool drink in the shade of the van.  Yes it is a bit warm, however there is a lovely breeze blowing.

Enjoy  Australia Day everyone. ??????????????2AEDEDD5-1A8A-4D87-84C8-11CCAA6E7CCD.thumb.jpeg.0c4defbe0b5fd53c6e5fd98766ca01b9.jpeg

OK, right now we are at another special spot.  It is called Lake Ratzcastle, 12 kms South of the small (as in very small) town of Goroke, Victoria.  This is the Wimmera which is full of lakes and water reserves.  Of course, in dry years they are not all full of water.  But this is a good year and our Lake is full to the brim.

It is a lovely quiet spot, with flushing toilets, a tap and a hot shower.  Donation is requested.  And it would be very bad form not to pay a fee for such special surroundings.  Here we are.

We are on our way to the gathering at Kangaroo Valley. We have been through many kilometres of road works, on the Pacific highway, North Coast region. When completed in 2020 this will make travel between Sydney and Brisbane a breeze. At present there are major works going on building a bridge crossing the Clarence River.

We are at present at Sawtell and camped next to two other Kedron vans, they are heading north.7BB45412-4DC8-4B16-9EAE-01CEC598B7B7.thumb.jpeg.6adf5ebbf22fd3e1509d76c89abcf8c3.jpeg

No, they are not unfortunately. We did tell them about KOG and tried, Clive even wore his KOG shirt and name tag at drinks. They were even unaware of the Facebook page.

this place is lovely, just been for a walk and watched the sunrise. ??

Hi Sandra and Clive.

Margaret and I are camped at Lake Liddell, just south of Mussellbrook and on our way to Sydney via the New England Highway. Should arrive mid-afternoon, and will stay at the Narrabeen Lakeside CP at Narrabeen on Sydney's Northern Suburbs. Be there a week or so.

We are doing a family thing in Sydney the weekend of the KOG Gathering. Have loads of fun and give our regards.

Safe travels.

Peter
