  1. Hi Bill, We faced the same issues when ordering our van, in the end it came down to compromise between total weight, usable size and likelyhood of really giving the home on wheels the type of pounding the Gall boys do. After much discussion with Stan and Flipper at the Brisbane Show we settled on a 22' ATV2 which is a TopEnder from the chasis up aside from suspension which is TopEnder also. The difficulty we had was that to get the additional length we would have had to tow with something like an F250. I just can't see myself in such a tug. Not to say they are a bad vehicle, but I am a Landcruiser nut, being on my fifth since about 1990  We wanted to have a Cafe lounge at entrance end and Ensuite the other with a queen sized bed, this meant we really had no choice, so opted for the ATV chassis which gave use a more usable weight within the 3.5t capacity of the Cruiser. Good luck with your purchase
  2. Hi Phil, Don't have my van as yet, patiently waiting for December so winging it a bit here. You have not said if it was ever charging, most common cause would be no 12v supply to the charging pin of the caravan/trailer socket of the car (pin 2 on 7 pin plugs, black wire designated as reversing light but should have been connected for charging when the brake controller was fitted to your vehicle. I don't believe you need to operate any switches on the breakaway controller to initiate the charging. It may be possible that the breakaway battery will only charge when the vehicle ignition key is on Acc. or On (running), not really too sure, a tester on pin 2 of the vehicle will cear that up. It is also entirely possible that the breakaway controller is connected to the caravan's 12v system to get its' charge circuit, but that does not seem to be the case. A quick check of where the wiring goes will answer that. Best of luck, I'm sure it will be tested over the pits. John
  3. Hi All, What type of vehicle do you have Mick? Does it have a reversing camera already, if so you have the option of connecting the camera to your OEM system via a change-over switch. This is what I intend to do in my 200 Series, but have not checked it out yet, I was told this is the better option for vehicles with OEM reversing cam, no need for a second screen. My guess is that you could probably also install a switch which simulates selecting reverse so you can take a look backwards whilst driving along the highway. One of the more reputable Car Audio stores should be able to do it for you or give you the details.
