  1. Hi

Just wanted to know if anyone has had issues with the polaris monitor screen turning off and on after about an hour of use.

the screen blanks out and back on for a couple of seconds or longer but only after its been used for more than an hour.

We have checked the basics - ie connections but to no avail.

    Any suggestions

    Many thanks

    Carl & Tricia

  2. Dear Nev and Penny

We have the same van 2011 - (ATV)

we always drain our tanks when we store it - water goes stagnent

We also take out the water filter and store it in our home fridge as per recommendation in the handbook

to drain the tanks you will need about a 27-28 mm ring spanner

On ours there are drain plugs on each tank on the left hand side of the tanks

    hope this helps

    cheers

  3. Hi Gary & Kaye

we purchased a Stormcover on the Sunshine Coast - their premises was just south of Mooloolabah in Feb 2011 when we picked up our new van

the cost was approximately $1400.00 - at first you think that is very expensive

But really in consideration to the cost of the van and the protection it offers for our van which is stored outdoors in the bush (storms / high wind) we havent had an issue to date as it is a padded cover - not sure about hail

it is a 3 piece cover and takes 2 of us to fit it

we cover any sharp edges on the van with marine carpet 1st then fit cover

from memory it has a 7 year guarantee??

    we recommend it

    regards

  4. Hi

thanks for the tips and we will definitely be packing the winter woolies!

We thought we would head out from Maree to Muloorina Station but I wasnt sure if it was only tent camping and we would have to leave the van at Maree and do day trips so thanks as we had heard that its a great spot to camp.

Looking into emergency equipment as well - Sat phones ?? or EPIRB - Still researching

    Hmmmmm

Anyway again thanks and Glen hope you have a great trip too even if they say you dont have friends!

  5. Hi All,

We are planning a trip from our home base - Sydney to Lake Eyre in June/July for around 4-5 weeks. If anyone has any tips about places that you think we shouldn't miss then it would be great to hear from you. We are thinking of heading towards Bourke on the way out then coming back through Broken Hill or vice versa. Still no firm plans so any info would be much appreciated.

    Cheers

    Trish & Carl
