We have a 2002 Manual 100 series T/Diesel,I use 5th gear once we are over 80 Kph but I always change back to 4th when the donk has to work harder. I neveruse it as a working gear. The 100 has clocked up 192000 Ks so far mostly towing.
Cheers

Diesel Heaters are wonderful when they are working, but can be a major pain in the butt when they play up.
So far we have replaced the fuel pump in Adelaide (a common problem, apparently one that Dometic refuses to acknowledge)But thank goodness Kedron were very helpful. Now when we switch it on its cross fingers and hope it works.sometimes it blows out great clouds of black smoke first up then switches off. Other times it works just fine.So who knows??
So at the moment we have bought a small ceramic heater as a backup.
cheers

We have acquired a new tow vehicle. This amazing little tower developes 700 bhp ,does 100kms. to the litre, and the best part is you don`t have to hitch up .The van just follows along behind, as you can imagine it can be rather hairy in heavy traffic .But this is just one of the small bugs that has to be ironed out in this still experimentlal vehicle. We purchased this car with our tues. night Oz lotto win!!??.
LOL

I'm assessing my internet security needs for 2009, and looking at reviews of the major products. ie Windows Live OneCare, Norton Internet Security 2009 etc, etc, etc.
For those people who rely on their computer and internet connection, what are you using and how well does it perform? I currently have OneCare installed, but want to make sure that it's the right way to go.

Sorry Pete, I thought you meant the boot not the hatch.

G,`Day All
We are currently in Adelaide ,it is fairly cool here so we turned on our Deisel heater.Guess what? he no want to work . We contacted local Dometic dealer Dario Caravans to check it out.Turns out the pump was nackered. He said that ours was the 5th pump he had replaced in about 5 weeks inc. one chap was on his 3rd.When he bought it to the attention of Dometic they did not want to know. Now with mine and another one tomorrow he feels they can no longer ignore it. Has anybody else amongst the
Kedron group had a problem with them.Rumour has it that they are built to handle Euro deisel as opposed to OZ deisel and that could be the problem.Any comments.
Yes we have advised Kedron.

G`day Kereru
Welcome to OZ you will have a ball.
Our 100 series is insured with NRMA, used to be with Racq. but they did not want want know about us once we fitted Larger exhaust despite 20 years of no claim driving.(stuff em!!) Our van is with CIL they have been good with a couple of minor claims as long you have plenty of photos.
We are on the road full time may catch up one day.

We recently had problems with our charger, on going for some time since new in fact.It was very noisy when charging and would not go to float mode .Ashley changed it for us and adjusted the settings on the solar controller now every thing works fine. don`t ask me about the settings it`s all a bit techo! for me.

My good lady tells me that Tablespoon in Half bucket of cold water does the trick for screens.
As for the bugs,we have filled the slots with Selley`s no more gaps. It seems to have stopped the bugs getting in there. But the little mongrels still come through the Four seasons hatch.

Hi Chris & Val
The new van looks really great. I'm particularly interested in your NextG antennae. Did you supply the hardware, or did Kedron? Can you give me make model etc please? We need to get our original antennae replaced as it is - well - not well!!!
I recall a message saying that you are now residing an hour north of Adelaide. Whereabouts are you? Rick & I are heading towards Adelaide & WA from Brisbane as soon as the weather is viable (for that read reasonably cool), and it would be really good to catch up.
All the very best

We had a 3 inch Mandril bent system fitted by Beaudesert Exhaust about 2 1/2 Yrs. ago.
It improved the performance marginally. We had the DP chip fitted about 20 months ago and WOW, different
vehicle.Increased torque to about 620Nms.The tug is an 02 100TD manual with 178000Ks on the clock. We tow an ATV when fully loaded is about 3.2 tonnes and it goes like the clappers!!.We average about 18 ltres.per 100 Ks.when towing and about 12L/100Ks. not towing.DP chip was fitted by Mike Vine Turbos Cleveland Brisbane.Works for us.

G'day Folks
Have a look at the attached photo and see if you can guess what the odd-looking brackets on the A frame of a brand new ATV2 are for!!
The owners didn't order them and have no clue what they are!
I know, ring Kedron, but where's the fun in that.
We wish everyone a Fantastic Christmas and a Humungous New Year.
We are currently in Atherton Big4 until end of January 09, so if you are in the area, drop in and say g'day.

Tow hitch lock

Posted
G`Day one and all hope you all had a great Xmas
First question
What type of van hitch lock do you use ?. I am currently using a ARK trailer hitch but it does not seem to be very secure,in fact I turned the hitch upside down the other day and it fell off!I have tightened it as much as possible but it still does`nt seem very secure.
Q2
Looking for ideas to fit bicycle carrier to rear van bar, between spare tyres.
Photos would be great!! :helpsmilie: .lol
Checking out others ideas whilst travelling down Bunbury Hwy @ 110 ks is frought with danger !! :clown: lol
Cheers
