  1. Greetings Kaye & Lance.

We have the modded 6 tonner that Rick & Lea are talking about. All later versions have been manufactured with the chamfered lugs and better bushings.

The two lugs that locate the van hitch over the towbar fitting have been chamfered to allow the hitch to drop on easier.

I find now that even with the hitch not lined up too well, with hand pressure on the top of the hitch as it comes down it pulls the unit into line and drops on easily.

    Cheers too ya.

  2. Hi Gang

Have had the small mod. done on the McHitch and now works like a charm ,from all angles and slopes.Joe was very helpful and the whole process took about 20 mins. And he gave us a gift of a locking pin for the hitch.

    Cheers

    Rick & Lea :D

  3. We have the Engel combination fitted in our ATV2 which we took delivery of in March this year. The first time I switched the freezer on I was concerned it was very noisy, but when I switched it on 24hrs later it was much quieter- may have just needed running in. Also later I nipped up the screws holding the freezer plate in place and I was amazed as to the amount it quitened down. I passed on this info to Kedron. Since then I have had the ATV2 back to Kedron for another matter and they have remounted the units with rubber under the flange mounting. We feel now the vibration and noise is at an acceptable level. We are more than happy with the performance of the units and were glad of the extra freezer capacity on a recent trip to Karumba where prawns were a good price (5kg for $40) so we stocked up.

    Cheers Lance

  4. We have the twin engles fitted and initially the freezer was very noisy but when I tried it again 24hrs later it had quitened down considerably. On our first trip I didnt hear anything above the sound of the fan in the A/C. Since then I have nipped up the screws holding the cold plate inside the fridge and the freezer and I feel it has quitened both down considerably further. I like the idea of having two seperate units in case of break down out bush. But on the down side is the reduction in fridge space but I intended having a box in the tow.

  5. Attended the Brisbane Caravan and Camping Show in 09 & 10 trying to decide which way to go,but to tell the truth I think I already knew. When we came down in 2010 we also took delivery of our new Toyota LC 200. Already fitted with KDSS and later an ARB winch bar and spots. At the show we saw Stan at the Kedron stand and drew up a floor plan etc. Two weeks later I said "bugger it I am going to order our van". That was the end of June. In late March hopefully we will take delivery of our new 21' ATV2 Kedron Van, fitted out with 6t McHitch, Air Command A/C, the new Twin Engel 95l fridge and 95l freezer. We have already received progress pics and it looks the best van in the shop. We are only new to the caravaning world but feel we have made the right move to get started.I have been checking out the KOG forum and find lots of good info. Hope to catch up with many of you on the road.
