  1. Colin,

I take it that your trip to O'briens Creek was to chase some stones, it is a top spot and we have managed to stop there 3 times,

I love going up the jump up's there is fantatic scenery to see, and to travel along the river and see the fresh water croc's also

plenty of time for camp oven cooking, wont be able to make this year but 2013 is looking good,

    All the best,

    Tom and Jackie.

    Have a good day.

    Regards to all,

    JK.

G'day Colin and John and any other ex service men or women on the KOG site,

like Colin and John, I will be attending our dawn service at Cooroy, remembering the fallen, mates lost in the war and those who have passed away since our return, Lest we Forget.

  4. G`Day Tom & Jackie

No they were not expensive surprisingly. We have 4 long windows and 4 square? windows. And the cost through local Camec dealer who had to order them from Dometic was $96.20 all up. Unfortunately you cant get window "parts" direct from Dometic as they only sell whole windows to the public. We spotted the invoice on delivery and the price for the dealer was $54 so a nice little earner for them?? ;) You can buy lengths of furry worms from Bunnings ,but I don`t know wether it works out any cheaper. We went through Caravan repair centre in Caloundra Qld. If you get onto the Camec site ,they have a list of dealers.

    Cheers

    Rick & Lea

PS When you order them they will probably ask for the window code!! number. They are found on the top right corner,on the outside of the window. It starts with AGS xxxx. They are very small and hard to find.

    Thanks Lea&Rick,

I shall check out Bunnings offerings at Noosaville, I do not begrudge some one making a quid, but that was a nice mark up, I shall check the window no's any way for future reference, Ta, Tom&Jackie.

  5. Hi Russ and Sue

Apparently the older kits did not include top and bottom furry bits. I don`t know if that would make a difference or not, I hope so. Lea scanned a copy of the fitting instructions into the puter so if you would like us to email them ,just let us know.

    Cheers

    Good day Lea& Rick,

Where did you buy your kits? and if it is not to rude did you have to take a mortgage out for them,

    Tom&Jackie Lake Mcdonald.

  6. Hi Candswilkins

Try this site ,might be helpful??!

    Fly screen replacement

    G'day

We used the instructions above but I sewed the channel at the bottom to stop it coming off. It worked well. We bought our midge screen in Bunnings. Could only get dark green not the white nylon they are originally supplied with. The darker colour also hides the little stains you seem to get whe you roll it up and is less labour intentsive cleaning the screens, good luck ,

    Tom and Jackie.

  7. G'day Colin,

thanks for the pm it will be a great stopover point on the way North; looks like I'll have to make a booking following all of the keen interest  .

    Regards, JK

Just take a caretakers sign with you, that means you will be head KOG.

    Tom

  8. Fieldsie,

You will have no problems getting to Punsand Bay,took our T E up there in 2007, don't forget Fruit Bat Falls and Elliot twin falls for an over night camp also the Bends north of Coen is a good camp spot, we camped in gravel pits and old road workers

camp sites take it easy, and as they say drive to the conditions and watch the dips, also the drongos heading south on the wrong side of the road, look ahead for the dust.

PS good burger at Archer River, and worth the ferry ride to T I,

    Cheers, Tom@Jackie.
