  1. Hi,

    We had swivel recliners in the specification for our van, so can't help with any retrofit issues.

    Our seats are movable and are strapped down when on the road. We do not use leg rests at present due to the space they would take up. Our table is removable (if required and also when on the road). Beneath is a small coffee table. The above wheel well cavities do serve as some additional storage and also as small seats. The recliners are stock seats from Roth Newton Recliners. Van is 18ft internal.

    We did meet a couple who had swivels fitted in their Bushtracker. The seats were fixed to the floor and modified with an extended centre shaft. Fixing the seats required their table to have cut outs along both edges to enable the chairs to swivel and the arms to clear the table.

Renewable Energy Certificates (REC's) are produced under the Australian Government’s Mandatory Renewable Energy Scheme (Renewable Energy Electricity Act 2000) which seeks to encourage additional renewable energy production and provides an added incentive for customers installing a renewable energy system.

    We found, as individual purchaser’s, it was possible to get 3 REC’s issued to our Solar Installation on our new ATV, which we onward assigned to a trading company and that paid for a tank of Diesel. Kedron did not assign at van point of sale.

    Home address was used in the paperwork. You must claim within 12 months of van delivery, have the panel manufacturer, output, part number and serial numbers, and proof of installation against a chassis number is also required. Only a five year deeming period, not fifteen, can be claimed as Kedron are not BCSE accredited (The owner can then claim again in another 5 years and then a third lot again 5 years later, totaling 15 years.)

    Our 4 solar panels totaled 0.52kw x 1.185 (Zone 1 factor for Victoria) x 5 years = 3 REC’s . The zonal factor is higher in more sunnier states and possibly will result in a higher number of REC’s being issued. The value of a REC varies and was at the time worth $46 each.

  3. There has been some discussion on tow ball weights and configurations recently. The University of Bath in the UK have conducted Caravan Stability studies. Their website has an interesting interactive game that does provoke thought. Bear in mind it is a simulator, and does not depict a Kedron type van with tandem wheel layout, some sway damping via the WDH and the Kedron’s high weights. However, it can give you an indication on how easily Yaw Inertia and Damping is changed through loading and the consequential affect on Damping Speed.

    60 MPH is 96 KPH.

  4. Thought we'd canvass opinions on the merits of having an inbuilt Sovereign BBQ or to use a standalone unit with bayonet supply from the van. We note that few owners seem to have inbuilt units on their published layouts .

    We are presently tending towards a standalone unit due to Island bed layout and BBQ box intrusion, to reduce tow ball loads a little, and flexibilty when camping with the 4WD.

    Also any recommendations on a good standalone model.

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Decision made , We've gone for the LC200 TD with KDSS option and are looking forward to its arrival in a couple of months.

  6. With an 18ft ATV on order, the Mitsi 4WD has gone and our thoughts are to an LC200 TD for reliability, countrywide support and “Pulling Power”.

    Would like to gain some user advice though on the following. (We anticipate 95% on road usage)

    1) KDSS. How good is it? Any problems when towing a Kedron and its typical ball weight?

    2) I know the aftermarket is still small, but has anyone found the need for shocks and spring changes yet? Any interference with the KDSS?

    3) HR WDH. Any issues with its fitment and use? I have seen from the Bushtracker forum that the LC200 in-bumper tow fitting requires a different hitch drop head length for their vans!

    Any advice would be much appreciated

  7. My Wife, Robyn and I are also interested in purchasing a new Kedron and would be grateful if there is any chance of also viewing a Kedron in the Melbourne area, before we arrange a trip up to the factory.
