For those interested here is a thread on the Chevvy Silverado on the Caravaners Forum -

For those interested, here is an article about bore water and it's effects (although relating to home HWS) but you can understand the need to flush the van HWS and check the sacrificial anode (Suburban HWS). http://www.build.com.au/bore-water-and-hard-water

Have a safe trip!! Lovely part of Oz up that way.

If I want to check what is going into the batteries I look at the Plasmatronic PLM monitor/read out to see how many amps is going in then start the vehicle and wait a bit and see if there is any increase in Charge In. We have a 175 amp Anderson plug (heavy duty wiring done by Springers 12V) and the Amps/Charge In normally goes up to 22 amps or more in the morning.
There is some 12 fuses (in our van boot) under a plastic cover and the list of fuses supplied by Kedron notes the Anderson plug is Fuse No.1 for the Anderson charge.

Hi Rick & Lea, sorry to hear about your fridge problems. That would be really inconvenient and frustrating. Enjoy your house sit.

Hi The Dingoes,
Hope you are enjoying your TE. Dust in the door vent just about irks everyone. As Webby indicated the vent is mandatory for the likelihood of any gas leak and death. Taping the vent is a cheaper option as is trying a piece of dense foam between the screen door and main door.
Other elaborate methods have been used. Here is a link to a couple of topics/ discussions on the Caravaners Forum that may be of interest - http://www.caravanersforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=73&t=29159

Hi Doug,
Have a chat to the guys at Kedron first as I did hear a "rumour" that Kedron Caravans are going to introduce a new suspension to their models. Not sure when but I heard they are looking at it.
-
Hi everyone,
Just noticed on Kedron Caravans Facebook they are doing a photo shoot for the new realise TE 3. I understand it has a few new features and may weigh a bit less than current model. Kedron will have it available at the Brisbane Caravan & Camping Show at Brisbane Showgrounds on 4-10 June 2014 if you want to check it out.

Hi Reece,
As Andrew indicated above, Pebbly Beach is mainly tent or vehicular camping - http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/Murramarang-National-Park/Pebbly-Beach-campground/camping
We have not stayed here - http://www.durrasnorthpark.com.au/south-coast-camping-ground/ but it says it is suitable for 'small caravans'.
Or you could go a bit further south to Moruya's North Head Campground - http://www.aussiebudgetcamps.com/Review-NSW-North_Head_Camping_Area.htm
Enjoy your trip.

Although it has been a while (2010) here is a review on - Dales Campground - http://www.aussiebudgetcamps.com/Review-WA-Karijini_National_Park-Dales_Campground.htm
A few other reviews are logged for around that area as well.

Hi Colin, you may already know but included this for info. The use of safety chains is regulated by the Motor Vehicle Standards Act and the build covered by Australian Design Rules -
Check out Sect 16 - http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/vehicle_regulation/bulletin/vsb1/vsb_01_b.aspx

Hi Tony, I had a look around the Internet but only found the subsidy is to cease 30/6/14 - Department of Communications website -
/>http://www.communications.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0013/112027/SPSS-fact-sheet-2.pdfBUT applications must be in by 31/3/14. (Mute point, I guess).

Just a thought, you may like to install one of these. It has saved us on at least one occasion until we had the radiator replaced - no connection with the business other than a happy customer.

A similar topic was raised on the Caravaners Forum which may help - http://caravanersforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=42877&p=605056&hilit=Thetford+cassette+toilet+flushing#p604759
In that problem it turned out to be the pump.

Reece, is it a cassette toilet (model no ?) that pulls its fill water from the water tanks or is it one with its own water tank - ie like a C402C?
Regards
Ann

Hi Bondi & Jenny,
Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you cannot wait to travel.
I am with the KOG trip doing the Outback Way and have just arrived in Leonora for our last night as a group. Great trip. Something for you to look forward to with your new Kedron.

Hello Lovegreen,
Congratulations on picking up your van. I have not stored my van for long so I'm not sure of the best solution. A suggestion would be to empty it as much as possible then flush it out with fresh water until water runs clear and then leave it. On our tank there is a cap to inset a hose to enable the tank to be flushed. Hope this is of some help.

Hi Margaret & Lionel,
Sorry to hear about Lionel's burn. They do sometimes take time to heal. Get well soon, foot.

Hi Andrew, we love our 100 series but it is about 10 years old now and some minor things needed replacement!! The 3" Taipan exhaust made a big difference to our towing.
Hi Colin, we are resting up for a bit at Townsville before going to catch up with Elle near Ayr then out to Charters Towers. Have to be back in Brisneyland by end of October. Good luck with your vehicle choice and love to Gayleen.
