  1. Ian & Sue I'm with Webby, brilliant, I installed my own SOG. It took me around 3-4 hours to install but that's only due to the fact trying to get large hands into a tight spot to connect the wiring beside the contact was interesting. Got it working and best thing we've ever done. You just have to remember to take the hose off and plug it before you drive off if you haven't emptied it beforehand other wise you can get spillage into the hose & possibly the fan.

  2. Hi Rod & Mavis,

It's been a few years but am fairly sure we got camp shades to make a couple of awnings for our Coromal. One for the side and one for the front. With the side one I had it made with one end at the angle your awning would be when rolled out with the leg still attached to the van so it could be used either way not just as shown on their site.

  3. Doris & Rob,

We bought a secondhand van with a combined ensuite so didn't have much choice in the matter but I do agree with webby etc that if I had a choice this is the way we would have gone. Our vanity is mounted opposite the toilet not above, I never use it as with my hands I'd have to wash one finger at a time. It's easier for Deb & I to use the kitchen sink. As far as eveything getting wet our toiletries are in a vanity cupboard and we have a heavy duty rubber mat on the floor with dimples on the bottom of it to keep it off the checker plate. It dries in no time with the water draining away. Hope this helps.

  4. Sounds like you may not want to come home.Laurie & Helen may be right if that loo is like the ones in Paris after every use it self cleans. Good idea but the next person has to walk into a wet loo?? Keep enjoying yourselves.

  5. Hi Reg, I've got a 2006 cruiser and had the gas installed about 6 months ago and it was worth every cent also had a 3inch mandrel bend exhaust system installed. I've only had 1 decent trip towing the van and the difference in power going up hills compared to just deisel is very noticable. The big thing I've noticed is the fuel economy driving around town. At the moment I'm averaging between 150-200Klms extra per main tank which takes it up to around 800klms for town driving. That doesn't include the reserve tank. Gas burns about 96% of your diesel compared to the normal 75-80% and is much better for your engine, this is what several installer mentioned to me. The gas tank was installed under the drivers side passenger seat with the exhaust purpose built around it so I still have both tanks.

    Hope this helps you decide

  6. Hi Gary & Kaye,

just been reading all the replies, we bought our van second hand so had no choice where the 4 seasons went ,it's above our bed at the front of the van haven't been on too much dirt yet so can't tell you what the dust problem may be like we'll know better when we head to Birdsville next year, but when we were in S.A last year we had a problem with condensation coming off the hatch. The weather was crap outside so we did have the van closed up. Will make sure we get some air flow in next time. What we do have and I highly recommend is the 2 fantastic hatches one next to the 4 seasons and another at the back of the van. We use them like a Cardiff Air one in & one out and it drops the temperature in the van enough for us to be comfortable. I'm not 100% sure but I think you can get hatches that will close automatically if it starts to rain. Hopefully this hasn't confused you even more. :confused1:

  7. Hello everyone,

was just reading all the responces to Robert And Janes question, we're insured through Suncorp and as you probably all know had a slight mishap with the van & car a while ago and had no issues with them in getting the van fixed. Our last premium was $652 obviously cheaper because the van is valued at $50,000 but what we did do in regards to the contents was attached the van to our house policy. So whatever we carry regardless of the amount or cost, if stolen, the house policy will cover it which we found the best way to go seeing as Deb sometimes has more in the van than what the normal caravan policy will cover.

  8. Hello and welcome to Mr and Mrs Sunday,

King and I are apprentice nomads just like you. We are members of the KOG and as a result have had some awesome times out and about with other KOGGERS. I know you'll love your van as we do. WELCOME!

    Cheers D

I'm not sure what type of globe you have but I think most are the type with the two small pins on the back. That is what we have in our van and we changed from Halogen to LED which uses a lot less power and gives off a white light which is great for reading. The internet is a good place to buy these types of globes. Just type in 12v Accessories or 12v globes and a number of sites should come up and more often the Net is cheaper including delivery. Hope this helps.

  10. Hi Chris, We don't have RACQ Insurance but do have Ultra Care as you may or may not have heard last year I jackknifed our 100 series cruiser into a bridge on Sandy creek Road near Kilcoy.I phoned RACQ and they got in touch with RACQ Kilcoy Towing and within an hour the car was on the tilt tray the van behind being towed and in their holding yard. Then 3 days later the van was on the tilt tray and taken to Kedron. Our van is a 20' ATV. Must have something to do with the area your in and if the closest RACQ Towing company has something capable of taking a large van.

  11. Hi Peter,

we've just come back from spending the weekend at Queen Mary Falls and I mentioned previously that the car did 30-40klms up the range . I was mistaken going up Cunninghams gap for 98% of the climb the car was in 3rd gear 60klms/Hr. on the odd occasion it dropped back to 50-55klm in second gear. Fully loaded the ATV is close to 3.5 tonne. So i was pleased the way the cruiser handled the hills.

  12. Hi Peter, We have 2006/7 100 series TD and just did a 3 week trip to S.A towing our 20' ATV and was extremely happy the way both the car and van handled. I never bothered with the fuel consumption on this trip but previously I've worked it out to being between 18-20Ltrs /100klm towing the van. The TD has no trouble pulling the van up the ranges. Normally drops to 2nd gear and sit on about 30-40 Klms/Hr.Not sure what size motor is in your patrol but a cruiser has better resale value if your going to upgrade in the future. Deb & I will be going to the Xmas gathering so we can meet and catch up there if you have anymore questions.
