  1. YEP especially the chevnissans bit heavier to tow out of bogs, really thou they arnt even a challenge to the 200 series

I see Neil saw the light and went back to the Tojo it is a nice looking rig and well set up in the back very well thought out for packing

  2. Hi Rudi

If I was in your position I think I would stick with the trojans as they have lasted 4 yrs and given reliable service.

BUT I would also be investigating the AGM Batteries that Kedron now fit in the newer vans they can be drawn down lower in power and also charge up quicker and are also maintenance free as they are a sealed battery.

Most van co's are now going this way so there must be something in it over the wet cells.

I have also fitted these batteries into the 200 landcruiser as well and they work as a starter and a Aux battery seperated and I cant fault so far.

  3. Hi all

Here is the 200 with the OME suspension ugraded to a 50mm lift 200kg constant suspension upgrade + polyair bags fitted and I can tell you the ride is firmer but this suits me and I am very happy with the end result.I have taken away that nose down effect that was common in the 100 and the 200.

I am yet to investigate further the 280 kg GVM upgrade above standard that has been negotiated with the authorities by ARB by the fitment of this suspension and I believe that all I need to do is go to an engineer and get the car inspected and notify the authorities with a certificate and the insurance co and all will be legal then.

I had the Safari Snorkel also fitted today and it is big but IMO looks great and suits the car

One thing I have noticed straight away re the snorkel after fitment was the drop in the temp of the intake air which prior to fitment ran at about 15 deg above ambient and after fitment is running around 5 deg above ambient now these figures all are obtained using the "scanguage" which connects to the computer on the car giving readouts of what the motor is doing.

  5. Hi Jody

I have heard allthough only still a rumour that this is the case and the source from whom the rumour come from is probably the most reliable source to date and he does have a lot to do with safari. this is what he sent to another forum

I just walked past several hundred SS87HF boxes being packed in the new factory. I'm told that they should be shipping to ARB HQ on Tuesday and from there to their other stores. Been a while coming I can tell you

And for those who will be installing yourself the instructions are at http://www.safarisnorkel.com/guides/TOYOTA/ss87hf/ss87hf.htm It's a straight foward install with no tricky bits. The only thing to look out for is to make sure that you do not have any mounting studs touching any panel metal._________________

My vehicle is going in for the ARB 200kg constant 50mm lift + the GVM upgrade of 280KG that ARB have succesfully arranged with the suspension upgrade on Monday the 22nd and I believe that my Snorkel maybe there for fitment as well I'm hoping so, my aftermarket fitment specialist is USUALLY very reliable LOl.

  6. looks great yoshie cant wait to see it in the flesh in a few weeks.

I believe the Snorkles will be shipped from the factory in Melbourne tomorrow and I am hoping mine will be fitted next monday if it arrives on time.

1 Qestion thou (I know you cant type real fast but in short version answer  ) why the pure sinewave and 40 amp charger to charge the batteries????

    regards

  7. Yes that would be Yoshies a member of this group.

Im not sure that Yoshie is around at the moment as I think he maybe still O/Seas

Im sure he will answer any questions thou when he sees this but it maybe a few weeks away.

I think also that it might be finished soon as he may need it for the Vic high country trip comming up in November

  8. Hi Tony

Here is what you are looking for and then you will need to get the bracket to mount the aeriel too it.

I have the bracket here of my old car but i will be holding onto it till after the vic high country trip till I see about getting the radio mounted by a guru in HF radios whilst down there.

Im just a bit wary letting just anyone mount the HF in the 200 because of all the electrical gizmo's in the vehicle and I havnt heard of anyone who has one mounted in the 200 as of yet

Mmm OK I cant remember how to post a pic here so I will post it in the photos section under my album 200 series Ok

  9. Hi Chris

I have also been watching the other forum as well and I do recall seeing a thread there from webasto themselfs stating that the the manufacturer had ceased dealing in the webastos as well, reasons wernt given as to why.

I have the dometic and too date havnt run out of fuel so cant really comment re that but I do have a recollection of a converstation with CV Tripper re his Dometic and the fact he had run out of fuel andII'm sure he said it wast a issue at all ?

Im sure he will respond as soon as he reads the message but at the moment I think he is somewhere along the savannah way in the gulf

    Regards

  10. AHHH WOULD LOVE TOO

  11. Hi All

  12. Hi Chris and Phil

I keep an eye on the tempratures of the bearings quite reguarly by walking around and having a quick feel and by doing this I would expect to find a fault before failure.

Did you do this over the 4000klms???

At handover of the new van also Kedron advised me and I think this is part of the handover instructions to ALL new van owners that the bearings and Brakes should be adjusted and checked at approx 1000klms was this done ???

I think by you recouping your cost for the component you have done very well

    Regards

  13. Hi Tony

Hows it going long time no hear???

We will certainly keep you in the loop no worries Im glad Madog come in here and hoping that the fix comes off as I am really keen to have the HF mounted into the 200 but with all the airbags and things in the 200 I am just not confident in the fitting of such so will be having this all done when I attend the Vic high country hopefully

    Regards

  14. Hi Tony

Madog and I are in the same Position as you and we are trying to find out what we can do also but at the moment no we are not aware of how we can overcome the problem.

Maybe Madog might have found out some clues on his recent trip and will chip in with his knowledge

    Regards
