  1. Hi Rod & Mavis,

We had your same problem with our TD100 IFS Cruiser. We have rear drawers, a long range fuel tank, rear wheel carrier and quite a heavy ball weight from the van, which resulted in a very saggy rear end.

We firstly changed the rear coil springs to OME 864's together with 40mm big bore shock obsorbers from TJM. (If I was to do this again, I would probably go for OME shocks).

This resulted in quite a big lift to the rear, which gave the Cruiser a "sniffing dog" look. We also replaced the torsion bar for an OME stronger bar and rather than risk winding this up to raise the front end (which creates stress on the CV joints) we opted for a diff drop which was performed by Superior Engineering at Warner (not too far from the Kedron factory).

I can highly recommend ARB Southside for the suspension work as I was not happy with the service of ARB Northside. Superior Engineering charged $515 for the diff drop and did an excellent job.

I would also recommend when exchanging the torsion bar, you have ARB fit strengthening brackets on the control arms, as this has been known to be a weak point with the IFS Cruisers in the past.

Before we left Brisbane last week, we noticed a small amount of oil leakage from one of the CV joints so took the Cruiser to Hycraft at Clontarf where they replaced the standard clamps for heavy duty clamps, solving this issue.

Lastly, if you do any adjustments to the suspension and diff drop, you will need to have your headlights re-adjusted so the beam is not blinding oncoming traffic.

I guess another option might be air bags, and perhaps someone else might be able to give their views on this as we opted not to go down that path.

We have noticed considerable improvement in the handling of the Cruiser since having the diff drop done, so we are very happy with everything. .....poorer....but happier.....

Hope this helps. You can have a look at the work when we meet up at Mitta Mitta if you like.

  2. Hi Blackie,

We're taking the New England to Newcastle, then south along the coast to Wilsons Prom and Great Ocean Road, so nowhere near Dubbo. Current stopped for lunch at Wallabadah and should get to Newcastle tonight in time for the footy !

Looking forward to catching up at Mitta Mitta though.

    See you there.

  3. Sounds like the KOG group at Millmerran are having a great time. We got a phone call yesterday from a couple of people and all I could hear in the background was laughing and excited chatter. Have a great time everyone !

We are on our way to Victoria (currently in Warwick). Can't take these things too fast.

Travel safe all those heading down that way in the next month or so.

    See you there.

  4. We bought a couple of spares from Kedron themselves. Not sure if they still hold excess stock.

The distributors are Aquapeak in Sydney contact number 1800 616 248

Cost is $99 ea (10% discount and free postage if you become a member - which means just register your details with them).

Payment can be made by Credit Card, Money Order or Cheque.

    Hope this helps.

  5. Hi Alan,

I was only just having this conversation with one of the guys at work today. He reckons he would go the Coast road, as at least it has numerous passing lanes - whereas with the New England (which a few truckies use) there are not so many opportunities for them to pass safely.

I guess in a way he has a point.

We leave for Victoria in 3 weeks (via Newcastle, Batemans Bay, Wilsons Prom, Great Ocean Road, Grampians and the Murray) so will have to get the map out and give it some serious thought.

  6. Jock & Rhonda,

    That is very disappointing.

Thank you for organising the gathering and hopefully this sort of behaviour will not re-occur as it shows complete lack of respect. If anyone at the gathering saw this action, or is aware of who the culprit is, could you please message me offline.

  7. Hi again Bryn & Teresa,

Unfortunately you will need to have your TE on order before you can attend a gathering. However feel free to ask questions of our group. We have many knowledgeable souls amongst us who would only be too willing to help you plan your future Kedron.

    Cheers

  8. Hi B&T

I notice you have been a member for a couple of months now, and as as you say, you have noticed lots of discussions regarding minor issues folk have with their vans. These are the same issues all van owners have (regardless of brand) just as you would if you bought a new house (or car). There would be little things you would want fixed or even changed, but they are mostly minor.

Most non-Kedron owners when they join the forum, ask this same question, which is natural. This thread from the past may give you an insight to what most of us think about our Kedrons and the excellent after sales service from the Gall boys.

    Thread - http://www.kedronownersgroup.com/forum/ind...hp?showtopic=70

I am sure I am no alone when I say you will definately NOT be disappointed. The after sales service from Kedron during and beyond warranty is second to none.

Look forward to catching up at a gathering down the track.

    Cheers

  9. Lets-Getaway.com is offering a $50 fuel voucher each month until the end of the year for the best Trip Report.

Now I know there are a lot of you out there write trip reports, so now's your chance to turn them into cash.

If you've already got some trip reports from the past 12 months or so, the forum works much the same as this one, so all you will need to do is copy and paste, and add a few photos. :photo:

I'm sure we'd all love a Kedron owner to win

  10. Hi Chris,

These two areas of the KOG forum are in two different areas because they represent two different things.

One is for maps ie. OziExplorer type etc. (as Madog has kindly uploaded) and the other is for individual camp spots our members can talk about maybe with GPS co-ords and pics if required.

We are hoping some of our members who are full-time on the road (and even those who aren't) might have a couple of spots to share with the other Kedron owners in the "Kedron Camp Spots" area.

So far it's a little slow in there, but with some enticing...and nagging  we might see some of our members post some comments about some camp spots they have discovered.

As I said once before - think of it as giving something back to the forum. It will only be visible by Kedron owners, not general members. If everyone put just one nice spot they've found in there (even if it's a comment on one of the nice freecamps they found from the Camps 4 book) imagine how many we could have.

  11. Wow ! Now I know what Chris meant. Very nice indeed. Love the colours. You should be very proud.

Any chance you could upload your layout?

Look forward to a personal tour when we're over Kununurra. And don't worry too much about the "W" word, there are a few of us trying to shake that monkey off our backs.

    Thanks for the piccies... :photo:

  12. Hi Wal & Sharon,

Welcome to the Kedron Owners Group.

Kununurra WA is one of our "must see" destinations. How lucky that you get to call it home.

I've always said "you can't hide in a Kedron"....you will be found. Our Kedron spotters out there have a trained eye. :shades:

Take care and enjoy your Kedron. Hope to see you at a gathering some time.

    Cheers

  13. Hi Russ,

I have verified your order with the Kedron factory and advanced you to "Kedron Owner" status. Please email through your chassis details when they become available.

December will not come quickly enough for you I would imagine. It's an exciting time. Feel free to upload your layout to our Photos section. If you need any assistance with this, you can email me offline at moderator@kedronownersgroup.com

Welcome to the Kedron Owners Group.

    Cheers

  14. Alex

Please read posting entitled NEW PRIVATE FORUM which is pinned to the top of the topic lists in the MAIN GROUP FORUM for instructions on accessing the KOG Private Forum and other KOG restricted areas.

    Cheers

  15. Hi Chris,

Funny you should mention the private forum other offroad caravans have.

I have just finished one for our group. Over the next 24 hours those who have attended a gathering will automatically be able to see this private forum, and also those who have given their chassis number and delivery date (as per the private KOG gathering page). It will not be available to forum members who have just ticked the "yes I have a Kedron" box when registering.

This forum will be invisible to all other "visitors" to the KOG forum, so feel free to use this for any private campground locations and other information you would like for Kedron Owners Eyes Only.

And the best part - it will NOT need a password, as there are already too many passworded areas on our site, which unfortunately I have no control over - I do apologise for that.

I will grant access to you and John first, so you can easily exchange the information you have been speaking about.

    Cheers
