  1. I have created a special section in our "Other Stuff" for everyone to be able to follow the Blackers' journey.

All their trip reports will be posted in there by either Elle or myself so feel free to post your comments or messages to them after each report.

    Cheers

  2. We are the other members Darryl refers to in his post who had to upgrade the tow vehicle from a Prado to a Cruiser. Very expensive exercise at the time, but absolutely no regrets. We even had a tow of Darryl's XC when he got it because I wanted to make absolutely sure the Prado wasn't going to do the job as I loved it so much. Alas, an upgrade was definately needed. We have a 18'6 XC 4 panels, 4 batts and the TD Cruiser handles the job exceptionally well.

You have the advantage now of finding a secondhand Cruiser TD in a yard somewhere, whereas 4 years ago when we upgraded, secondhand ones were like hens teeth and the hip pocket hurt for a while with a new one. But like I said, no regrets.

Look forward to seeing you new baby at a KOG gathering down the track. Put down the plastic though, as all us KOG'ers will all be filing through for a look. We love the smell of new vans !

  3. Can't add anything to what the guys have already said Mark, but can I suggest that you all upload your layouts to our Photo Album so others can get an idea of what you are talking about.

URL is http://www.kedronownersgroup.com/photos/. There is a special album there called "Kedron Van Layouts"

I know Darryl has his there already. If you need any help, just email them to me at moderator@kedronownersgroup.com and I will upload them for you.

    Cheers

  4. Just spoke to Shane and Elle. They are at Longreach and have dried out.

They've had an adventure already. Things mentioned were sausage making, hay bailing, water skiing and apparently soon to be involved in the race car drag team at Barcaldine.

They sounded very excited and the van and Nissan are doing well.

They said to say hi

  5. Hi Dave & Shell,

Welcome to the group. Hope you're keeping that boot nice and tidy like we know Crossy had it. You've got a great van there. It's been babied and well looked after, that's for sure. Be sure to check all the cupboards - you never know - he may have accidentally left some "product" hidden somewhere.

Anyway, we hope to catch up with you both at a future gathering.

    Stay safe.

  6. Hi Chris,

Just to help you out with inserting photos. If you need to post a picture in your posting and it is on the web, use the small icon of the tree (which is the one that asks for a http://)

However - if you want to attached a picture from your hard drive at the end of your message, move your curser to the end, and go down under the box you are typing in and you will see an area that looks like this:

    post-1-1207642950_thumb.jpg

Then browse for your picture, click the Add This Attachment button and then the white Add Into Post button. I know it sounds long winded, but once you've done it, it's easy.

Of course to save space on the server it appears as a thumbnail, and we will need to click on it to enlarge it.

    Cheers

  7. For security purposes, last names will no longer appear on our KOG Trip Page.

Please continue to give full last names when registering, but only the first letter of your last name will appear on the gathering lists.

  8. We've just returned ourselves from the gathering. There were only a couple of members staying behind to enjoy the solitude after we all left. I bet their ears are ringing in the silence...

What a great time we all had. I was sitting back in our van on Saturday night and all I could hear was laughter coming from all corners of the park. It's stuff like that, that makes it all worthwhile.

If you took any photos you would like included in our album on our Trip Page, please send them to moderator@kedronownersgroup.com

Looking forward to more fun times at Noosa North Shore with you all.

PS. Thanks Alan. Much appreciated. It all helps.

  9. Hi John,

We would be happy to spread the word of your new forum to any Phoenix travellers we meet on the road.

We commenced in September 2003, and I remember the early days when we had less than 10 members, and there was very little chat. But it soon took off as word got around. I'm sure the same will happen for POG.

You had me going about booking out the creek front sites at Imbil for a minute, but once I took my valium and calmed down I could see your humour. Cheeky boy ! :clown:

  10. Hi,

Just a reminder that Saturday 15 March is the voting date for the 2008 Local Government Elections.

You CANNOT vote absentee at Imbil.

I think time is now a bit short for postal voting, however you can do a "Pre-poll in Person" any time this week before you leave for Imbil.

Pre-Poll booths are located around Brisbane.

If you need any further information you can visit the Electoral Commission website or call the helpline on 3403 8888 at any time.

A list of the pre-poll booths is listed here.

See you all at Imbil
