About Me

I've been an insurance broker for about 23 years and my natural inclination for problem solving pulled my focus to insurance claims.  Then my natural inclination for arguing...just kidding.  I learnt to trust my gut - if an outcome felt wrong, it usually was and so I'd tackle it with the insurer and get it paid.

At the end of the day, insurance is all about what happens when need it.  More often than not, insurers go over and above in how they look after their clients who have a claim.  But every now and then, we come across a situation where there's been a miscommunication or a misunderstanding which has lead to the wrong outcome.  Generally, we can get these resolved fairly easily by reviewing the information with a neutral eye.

And then we get the situation where the insurer (or more likely, an agent of the insurer) has lost touch with the ethos of good faith.  These situations tend to be the ones that give our industry a bad reputation.

Anyway, I started Whippletree to provide an affordable source of help in getting a claim dispute resolved. I don't want to add insult to injury so I charge $1,500 up front and 10% of whatever I get for you.

What is Whippletree? Well, I am glad you asked.  I wanted to call myself the Equalizer (you know, Edward Woodward? Best tv show ever) but I don't shoot people and I thought it sounded a bit tacky.  So I googled equalizer and up popped Whippletree:  a mechanism that distributes force equally along the linkages.

Perfect.

My whole focus is on levelling out the playing field between David & Goliath, which is the first step towards opening up communication.

So, if you have an insurance dispute, and your gut tells you its wrong, please feel free to email sally@whippletree.com.au
