We are having a wonderful , but very busy time back in Brissy. It has been so good to see our family & special friends - we will see a few more of them too with the upcoming weekend. Looking forward to it.

    Kinds Regards

    Elle

  2. Hi Rosco .

We are looking forward to catching up with everyone. I have to ask Bob if he will be bringing any

of that good wood he had at Noosa ????. We will be bringing some Gidgi along, there is lots of it out

    at Longreach.

    Cheers Blackie

  3. Hi Pete & Tracey

We are doing what you will be doing in 18 months. Our plan is up to 5 years on the road, we have been on the road for 4 months so far & all is good. The Patrol will have no problems doing the work with the mods you have done. The best way to get info about caravans, camping, ect come to one of the gatherings.

We are hosting one on 14,15,16 August at stanthorp I think there are still 2 our 3 spots left.

I must say we have picked up a lot of info & had a great time as well at the gatherings.

    Look forward to catching up.

    cheers Blackie

  4. Hi Everyone , Don't forget to check our own topic site on the Forum page titled "Travelling with the Blacker's "

We are putting our updates on there (or should I say Sue is ).

We are currently in Longreach , we saw Mark & Deb Bayer while they were here too. Really looking forward to seeing those who are coming to the wine w/end - - if you haven't booked in yet there are still a few spots left?????

    See you soon

    Blackie & Elle

PS >>>> TO Bob if you have any of those power poles for firewood left ????? we would love some for Stanthorpe & some to take on with us, our fires as we travelled were brilliant thanks to the wood supplied by you at Noosa.

  5. Up here in the gulf they have two six shooters. We have payed $2.15 at the Barkley,we were told yesterday they are now $2.24. We will now be bypassing Barkley Homestead by filling up at Camooweal then Cape Crawford or Three Ways if we are going straight across.

  6. Greetings everyone,

We are currently in Mt Isa & wondering if there are any other wandering Kedrons out there coming through??

Maybe meet for a coffee?? or beer??? We are here til Monday 16ht , then we head off to Karumba for a week. We'll post our lastest stretch of the trip & some photos over the coming days.

    Till then

    Elle & Blackie :shades:

  8. Greeting David & Jane & all the other KOGers,

Shane & I are spending a 24 hr stop in Borroloola to catch up on our emails & internet. After leaving Mt Isa we headed into the NT & spent 2 weeks at Limmen Bight fishing camp - had a great time there ate plenty of fsh & crab. Then it was a quick flit across to Lorella Springs where we spent 12 days. The fishing camp was once again visited with friutful results - lots of BIG Queenies again. We've always been told they aren't good eating & not to freeze them - well we did both with excellent results, as long as they were over the 50cm long. We leave for Kingfisher camp in the morning , then onto Adels Grove

Hope you're all well , we are looking forward to seeing those coming to Stanthorpe.

    Til next time.

    Cheers Balckie & Elle

  9. :shades: Greetings all, well after a short sojourn at Longreach , it was off to Mt Isa to fill the cupboards for approx 4 wks in the bush. We leave for Camooweal in the morning then it's on to the Gulf, Towns Rv then Lorella Springs, across the Savannah Way to Kingfisher Camp & Lawn Hill. Hope the Barra are ready for us. We'll give you all an update when we next have coverage.

    Blackie & Elle

  10. We have a new trip to announce! In Mid March next year we are inviting all to join Robert & Jewel Vangeelan on their farm at Kilkivan for some R & R. There are no facilities there , so we'll be using our Kedrons for what they were made for, bush camping.

Shane & Elle will there to help you all through the paddocks & act as co-hosts, we are planning on doing a camp oven cook up on Saturday & fire wood will be provided.

The weather should be nice at this time of year , warm days & coolish evenings.

Hope to see you all there

Regards Shane & Elle Blacker

We to are on to our 2nd Kedron. Number 2 van will be ready early April. We were at the factory

last wednesday & all of the internal work was finished, with A1`quality .

As everyone has said if you speak to the Galls first & let them know of your problems in a

non aggressive way then I am sure they will help get your van back on track.

But if you go in with the same type of confrontational attitude as you threw at Darryl then you

will probably find a brick wall.I feel it was most uncalled for to accuse him of being someone to

go & 'tell stories' back to the people that you really need to talk to.

We enjoy support , friendly banter & the ability to swap knowledge on this forum NOT putdowns.

    Shane

  12. Just a quick hello from Levuka 4WD camping grounds. Thanks Sue your advice (as usual) was sound. We have purchased a Wireless modem from Harvey Norman $200 (telstra was $248 Not Neg) & $49.95 /mnth for 1G. The new van will have a next G aerial as well. Van was looking good with all Cabinetery done , electricals almost , waiting for cladding.... Cheers Elle

  13. Greetings all, What a fantastic weekend, between the cafe & bowls we were kept occupied. it was a lovely spot too.

So the HATCH thing! Well the upshot is no I can't have a full opening due to the wheel arches being longer to accomodate the independent susspension. However they are going to put a genie hatch door (no box ) on the side but some of the opening will be obstructed. It's a compromise I will have to make.

When we got there our chassis & floor from Friday arvo had turned into walls , flooring , cupboards & a bathroom shell......... so we are underway.

    Cheers Elle

  14. Greetings all, firstly I'd like to say what a fantastic w/end we've just had.Imbil is a lovely little town that really turned it on for us. Between the cafe for brekky (& almost lunch) then bare foot bowls & a sausage sizzle - all free, we kept quite occupied.

So back to the topic HATCH - is not viable due to the independent suspension having larger wheel arches but they are going to put a genie hatch door only which will give us access to under the bed - not sure if the chairs will fit through yet but it is something. We were shocked to see the floor is now walls , cupboards, shower recess so it is on the go now.

    Til next time Elle

  15. Hi Dave

We had the same problem. Have a look a the front of the fridge at the bottom there was a small gap

running the width of the fridge. I put a peice of high density foam in it, was a tight fit.

Seemed to slow the dust a lot. I think the gap was causing a vacuuming.

    Cheers Blackie
