  1. We also will be doing the wildflower thing this year.

Planning to leave 22th this month visiting the Dowerin Field days then off to Coalseam national park up to Mt Magnet across to Niagara Dam down to Kalgoorlie and home via Hyden, three weeks in all.

Well thats the plan we'll see, it really depends on the weather.

We planned the same last year but had to head up to Kalbarri because of the rain, which was still nice.

We are blessed to be living in such a wildflower rich state, and even more blessed for the opportunity to be able to hit the road.

May see you on the track someplace Rod and Mavis

  2. Hi all, Just back from 80 Mile beach W.A.

We were there for 4.5 weeks and what a great spot.

The caravan park is positioned over one sand dune to a beautiful beach where the fishing is better than good,

and the shell collecting is fantastic.

Although our stay coincided with the school holidays the park was very quiet and well run.

During our stay we meet three other kedron owners and of course compared vans,as you do.

This is one of those place's where "we'll be back" and recommend to all our members and readers.

Disclamer we are not in any way connected to the park or it's owners

  3. Thanks John, we will have to catch up some day as you only live up the road well 400kms away.

The Reese system we have is different than yours, ours has square-tapered bars which fit between rather than come up from below.

However the adjusting method is probably the same.

We had Glen at the factory set this up for us last year, and he said thats as good as it can be, but I am not at all happy with this .

I will have an other look tomorrow and will let you know how it went

    Thanks again

  4. Hi all,

I seem to remember that this topic was discussed some time ago but cannot find it back.

My reese hitch bars hit the A frame when turning.

They sit 10/15mm above the bottom of the frame and hit every time obviously damaging the galvanising and makes a horrible noise.

Is there any body out there who can help me with this?.

I have contacted the factory and they suggested the easy-lift system as this comes up from below, but I have the Reese and was hoping to modify this some how?

    Thanks in advance

  5. We flew over to the concert last week Thursday night in Brisbane and what a good show it was especially seeing and hearing the Seekers.

All up we spent 12 days in Queensland including four nights on Fraser Island what a beautiful island and resort.

Also met the lovely Jan at Kedron who showed us some very nice new vans

Just wondering if any other Kedronites were at the concert?

  8. We have gradually gone from pop up Viscount replacing the canvas  to xc kedron full size and now Top ender also full size and would not recommend any thing else

Nothing to fiddle with and go wrong, more cupboards.

Having a solid roof also means no problem with mounting solar panels etc.

You would not be disappointed buying second hand Kedron, particular if its one connected with this site as most people keep up to date with the latest extras.

    Good luck.

  9. Hi ,

We would like to wish you all the compliments off the season,

and may we all spend many enjoyable hours in our vans.

This group and forum is tops for information and tips.

Although we seldom post we do check the forum almost daily

to see whats going on (does that class me as a storker?) :shades:

    Keep up the good work.

  10. Hi Phil,

Yes we also have the same problem in our new TopEnder. I must say after a while you get used to it. We have just spent a week in Perth looking after the grandkids and had some very cold nights. Had the heater on all night on a tad less than 1 and it just ticked over to such an extent that we could hardly hear it. Nice and warm and very happy with fuel consumption.

How did your trip down south go? Did you come as far as Albany? would love to compare vans.

  11. Hi Webby ,we too have the same problem. would like to change ownership of xc to topEnder which we bought from the Shadforths. Also how do we access the classified section? I can view but not list our xc for sale, do we have to become a financial member which we are willing to.

  12. Hi Robert and Jane

We have most of our polices with APIA, thats Australian Pensioners Insurance. They the acept people who are not working full time. We have not had to claim on the van( touch wood) however have claimed several times for storm damage on the house and found them a pleasure to deal with. Also, when you phone them you are atually speaking with someone who can deal with your problem straight away. When I checked they were cheaper too

  13. Ray

We have done many trips with our xc model and she has served us well, including a trip along the Gibb River road, the Great central road,Tasmania with no problems.

These Kedrons are really built to last.

Having recently purchased a s/hand top Ender we now,( as of today) officially placed our cx on the market .

  14. Thanks for the info i had heard of "purple" was not to sure if it works.

  15. Just wondering if any body can help us with; what's the best product to clean the checkerplate on our van.?

  16. hi Bruce and Sue,

You sure have made a good choice with Kedron AV2.

Our Cross Country is beut having traveled fron Albany wa

to Darwin back home via the Gibb River rd and to Tasmania,

this past Jan-Feb with very little problems.

On the water tank filling we did get caught out on how,

to fill the darn thing with out getting blow back all the time,

untill some frendly Kedronite in Kunnenura gave us the sullution.

Buy some ridgit 10mm black tubing aboout .400mm long,

which you shoud be able to push into your filler outlet

elimenating any air bubbling back out.

I have fitted a common hose type fitting to both hose and 10mm tube

    this works very well

    good luck john and jol

  17. hi graham and marg,

We travelled on the GRD last July and would recomend it to any Kedron owner.A road with lots of beutifull rolling hills, river crossings and great camp sites . The only major problem we encouterd was the two copper pipes from the fridge which rubbed together on the sometimes bumpy roads i would recomend you to check before your trip. Just make sure that the pipes are not rubbing togeger , we got ours repaired in derby by the local refrigeeration mob They fixed the leak and placed some pading between. We also had one flat on the van at Bells Gourge which wasn't to bad considering we also traveled the Great Gentral Road Laverton WA to the Olgas

As i said we travelled in July not sure what the road conditions will be like in October but i'm sure you will have fun
