  1. Hi I have a LC76 workmate (towing a 19'6' Top Ender) with a after market tank from Long Ranger. I have travelled The Gibb River Road, The Plenty Hwy,the back Rd from Pardoo Stn to Marble Bar, and the Oonandatta Track. I have not had any problems with splitting or any other damage to the tank. I would wonder at the quality of the tank you purchased. Not suggesting that any product is better than any other, but one would wonder.
  2. Hi Richard, I have a LC 76 GXL wagon 4.5 V8 and I would not swap it for the world. I tow a 21 Ft external Top Ender and it does it with grace. The fuel consumpsion is not towing 12 Lt per hundred KM and towing 20Lt per hundred which about the same as my old 4.2 Troopie. however it tows with ease. You could not do better for the money. Tex

    New Look

Well Hi To All, I have been having troubles getting onto the FORUM due to computer ignorance, but I sorted that problem out. As for the new look web sight I think it is easier to get around and much easier on the old peepers. But the one problem I do have is uploading a profile photo as everytime I try the photo is to large. Can anyone help. Tex
  4. Hi Pete and Tracy, I have a LC76 V8 and my wife and I love it. It has not all the bells and whistles of the big 200, but we never had them in the past and the 30 odd grand was a saving. We tow a 19.6 internal TE and have no problems at all. We have just completed a trip from Sydney via Canberra,Bendigo, Mcclaren Vale, Port Augusta, Wilpena Pound, Marree, Oonandatta, Dalhousie Springs, Mt Dare Station, and out to the Alice via the Painted Desert. After Alice we returned to Sydney via the Plenty Hwy not a problem was had no flat tyres, no break downs, saw plenty of wrecks on the side of the road. The LC76 and van performed as they were designed and we enjoyed our trip. We are both over the moon about our choice of tow vehicle and still have that 30 grand in the bank
  5. Hi, I have a 76 series Turbo diesel V8 manual towing 19.6 Ft internal TE and have not had any trouble with the hill to Hanging Rock. My luck I presume is from have manual gears for the use of using the engine as a brake to assist on down hill descents. The climb was achieved by staying in 2nd gear H/R for the duration and no problems Tonka Trucks are good Tex
