Hi All

Just chasing some information on fuel economy with the 4.5 tubro diesel . We had just purchase our new topender in November and we are very happy with it . My tow vehicle is a new 4.8 litre petrol nissan patrol wagon which tows it without any problems except for the fuel. We are only getting around 29 to 30 litres per 100km . This is keeping it around the 90km per hour pulling around 2300 revs . I have weigh the van loaded 3500 kgs The question I would like to know is the 4.5 litre diesel any better on fuel than this.My problem is that I'm only getting around 300kms if I'm lucky out of a tank .Some fuel stops are further than that when going west.Is the toyota landcruiser ute capable of :thumbsup pulling 3.5 tonne van.

Any info would be great

Hi Richard,I have a 200 series twin turbo diesel wagon. With our van in tow which is the full 3.5t and good load of gear in the vehicle 160l of fuel I have, averaged around 21L/100km at a cruise speed of 100kmh, had better with a tail wind around 19 and worse with a strong headwind or lots of hills, max has been around 26L/100km.The utes are certainly capable of towing a 3.5t van.Good luck with the change.

gday richard,

we have a 200 series TTD and a 3500kg (??) T/Ender. we average 19/20 litres per 100km at around 90/95 kph. with 138 litres of diesel in the truck and another 40 on the van drawbar, we would get a comfortable range of 700/800 kms.

regards

chris

Hi Richard,

Thought I would jump in on the 'Band Wagon' here, and ask the same question as you, about vehicles, towing and fuel economy.

We are getting and ATV2 with a TopEnder chasis etc.

Not sure what our vehicle will give performance wise (see signature for vehicle details) so, if there are any Koggers out there with the same configuration as us, I would be very interested in seeing the stats.

When I towed the Ultimate Offroad Camper (full was about 1200kg) we were getting 100klm to 12 ltr's. approx.

Not much of a yard stick to judge what's coming up. :shades:

Thanks for the tag along Richard.

Safe travels
