  1. Alan & Liz, Apologies for posting a reply with a different subject, but was not able to PM you. I notice you have a Range Rover to tow a 19'6" van. We are thinking about getting a similar size van and not sure about what tow vehicle to get. Am interested in either the Disco 3.0 TDV6 or the RR Sport TDV8, however... I understand that that Land Rover recommends a WDH is not used because of the self-adjusting suspension? And, that if a WDH is used that it will negate the LR warranty? Has this proved to be an issue with you? Regards, Phil.
  2. I had a good look at these (Clearview) mirrors at the Sydney show a few weeks back. I was impressed. Looks like they're well made and they certainly fit well. The demo models were on a Toyota Landcruiser 100. Variants will be available for other vehicles, (I think the next was Nissan Patrol). I guess they are focussing first on what they think will be the highest volume tow vehicles. I didn't drive the vehicle, but sitting in the driver's seat and looking at both mirrors, adjusting them and playing around showed me that the rear and side views were very well covered. Certainly the coverage was better than the standard mirrors. Regards, Phil.
  3. Hi Sellinup, We are a bit behind you in the process of buying an offroad van. I have been lurking for a while on this and other websites. I recall reading the post mentioned by Laurie & Helen, "What would you do different?" and I took some notes from it to add to my "wish list". This list is attached in a Microsoft Word document. It may help you. Also, other respondees have mentioned diesel heaters. Here is a link to a heater recently released here... Webasto ‘Dual-Top’ Heaters. www.webasto-outdoors.com/heating/dual-top/dual-top-rha-100.html "The standard version of the Dual Top (combined air and water heater)… can be mounted underneath the vehicle, in the double floor as well as inside the motorhome!" 4. Hello Knipie, (Carl & Fiona), I travelled with a friend from Perth to Broome via Karijini in June 2004. We camped in Karijini for a very enjoyable couple of days. I agree with previous comments... I wish it had been at least a week! If you are able to, I would recommend the various climbs in and out of the gorges... very picturesque. The attached image was taken at the bottom of Fortescue Gorge. But even if you can't climb down and up, the views from above are still great. I'm not sure if the webmaster allows this, and I understand if they do not... but if you would like me to post you a CD with some selected images of the sights, let me know a postal address by email to PhilipLDodd@yahoo.com.au I hope you enjoy your trip. Regards, OBdreamer.
