  1. G'day I was wondering if anyone can give me some specifics on the preformance of DC to DC chargers on Kedron vans. We get around 13amps max via our Anderson plug to the van now, this is without any extra equipment. However when we're camped in National Parks where generators are not allowed, & usually they have lots of shade, this isn't really an option to charge the Kedron. Therefore my question is, with a 30 amp DC to DC charger & no other special wiring, what madnitude of amps can I expect with this charger connected to the Anderson Plug that's on the Kedron. will it be 30A or close to it? I'm looking for someone with actual experience with such a setup. Can anyone assist? Cheers Alan
  2. G'day John Thanks for the tips, we're off down the Birdsville Track soon & we will try your suggestions. Cheers Alan & Jayne
  3. We have a Top Ender with a rear door. When driving on dirt, we get dust through the gap in the door frame, mostly below but also above the centre door hinge. Up until now we've sealed the gap with tape, but this leaves a sticky mess to get rid of at the end of each trip, and it's not really successful anyway. We put a piece of foam between the flyscreen and door to keep the dust out of the vent, and this works reasonably well. My next step is to try rubber tubing (similar to flyscreen rubber) to feed into the gap around the door. Does anybody have a similar problem and/or solution for this? Thanks in advance. Jayne
  4. G'day all There are certainly some excellent ideas there, thanks to you all. We're off to Cape York in 2 weeks, so we'll try them out. Certainly turning it upside down sounds a neat solution, providing I can get tto the top to zip it. Cheers
  5. G'day all We have a TopEnder with a front bed, the bedroom window has a Padded Stone Bra that blocks out all light from the bedroom area. What is the best way to open this stone bra without the window being open, just to let in more light? At present we tuck ours up under the bra, but this is messy & I'm not sure if its good practice. Any other ideas would be appreciated. Cheers Alan & Jayne
  6. G'day Chris Thanks for your reply. It's much appreciated. We were also wondering about Captain Billy Landing, but I think you have removed that idea for us. Is there any reason why you didn't take your van past Bramwell Junction? Do you think north of this would be ok for a TE? Cheers Alan
  7. G'day We have a new 2009 22' TE, & we're taking it to Cape York in May/June this year for its 1st big trip. It's being towed by a VW Touareg 3.0 TDI which to date has proven to be an excellent tow vehicle even with the TE fully loaded. The Touareg can handle 0.5m water without a snorkel & we're being told this should be ok if we use the main roads. Does anyone have thoughts on this? We would also like to get into Chili Beach, & this should be ok, but we're concerned about the tightness of the corners as you get closer to Chili Beach, due to the wide arc the TE has. Does anyone have experience getting into Chili Beach with a TopEnder? What about access to Captain Billy Landing? Any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Alan
