ATV42 (PETER AND MARGARET) You are right, but, inside information .(We didn't count on that.) :o

Anyway what a top spot it is here ,will be camped beside the river for aprox 1 week more, so if anybody

is in this area come join us.

  5. HI TOLLEY

Not possible for us to tag along (worst luck)as we will be in a totaly different direction. :( but we will be following

your trip with great intrest. Ihave just had a look at your proposed itinery posted back in dec, and it's good to see that

your biggest day is only travelling 358k, plenty of time to look around and enjoy the country side.

    REGARDS MAL

PS i just did a quick check of the Ks on your first leg of trip and i came up with 1175Ks not 1762Ks,a saving

of 587Ks. (Now the way the present government would put a spin on that would be.)----

587Ks average out at 118Lts,x aprox 12 vehicles =1416Ltrs @ say $1.50 per Ltr total saving ,a Whopping $2124.00 HOW GOOD ARE WE.. LOL.

  6. HI SUE

I'm not sure what you mean? Last year I gave her a $99 Chainsaw from Bunnings, can't see anything wrong with that! This year I was thinking

along the lines of a Gold Detector, and a new padded walking stick for the times I'm not quite out of range.

    Regards mal.

  7. HI CATHY AND GREG

I can't help with a lot of advice on traveling with dogs, but an enormous amount of people are taking pets with them and it doesn't seem

to restrict them to much. We do a fair bit of free camping and from our observations, the dogs that are well trained and have been

taught good manners (eg not allowed to bark at every thing that walks past, and is taught that it is going to be left alone on

occasions )are definitely more relaxed,(dogs and owners). and at the c/park we are in at the moment some people are taking turns baby sitting

each others furry friends, so they can go out and not have to worry.

    Regards MAL

PS maybe our Webmaster (THE NUTS) could shift your post to either the public or members forum, it might be a

    bit more noticeable there.

  8. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW TOY ROB.

It seems that KEDRON changes their mind on wireing up a van so often it's hard to keep up . our dec 2010 ATV has a switch in the boot to charge

the break- away battery , when we picked it up we were told if we wern't using the van for an extended period of time to turn it on aprox

every few weeks for a day or two, and that way it would always be charged.

    REGARDS MAL.

  9. HI ALL

I decided to try out the charger using the Generator, and guess what? ,no flashing light :) . We are now at Banana ( west of Rocky)and

again on 240V with no problems, every thing working as it should, so at the moment I am thinking that some small towns 240V supply is not

quite in the output range that the charger is set to. but in saying that I can't quite understand why nobody else has noticed the same

thing? Anyway I am keeping fingers crossed that is all that it was, but if not Geoff I will ring Don at Enerdrive and see what he has to say.

    Regards MAL AND KERRY.

  10. HI ALL

Our XANTREX Battery charger has started flashing a red fault light , and according to its troubleshooting possible cause , the AC input is out of range

(<104V and <90V) OR (<265v AND < 255v) . I have turned it off until we find out if it is doing any harm to itself or batteries ect. I first noticed

it at Ilfracombe, but when we went to Barcaldine all was good, but when i pluged in at springsure today it started flashing again.

Can anybody tell me if it is a problem with the charger itself, or the power supply of the small towns.

    Regards MAL AND KERRY.

  11. HI BRIAN

We had the same problem on our ATV2, Dec 2010. started from the time the van was 3 mts old. KEDRON removed ,cleaned and refitted them but the same thing happened, so they

repeated the prosess,it seames to be ok now. We also asked the question at the time on the members forum, and there were a couple of other vans that had the same

problem. Never found out a reason why.

    Regards Mal.
