gazza d
gday all, i have purchased a 2005 xc a couple of months ago , very happy with it until it rained and water poured in from tops of the windows. i thought ok , easy fixed, reseal the windows ,not so . after much taping and ripping off of 100 m.p.h. tape , isolated the entry points to be the overlap joints on the exterior of the van . i have owened a few vans and have never seen anything like this. it appears that the water runs up under the joint [10mm] and into the wall cavity. has anyone come across this before , i certainly have'nt. cheers, gazza d
Gordon and Chris Carter
We had the same problem and we ran a very fine strip of natural cure clear silicone up into the joints, no more problems. Hope this might help, Gordon & Chris Carter
gazza d
g'day gordon; just finished doing that with sikaflex white and seems to have fixed it , but i don't think we should have to do this on todays "modern vans". am off to w.a. via the gibb river in april , so this should sort out any other bugs that may be hiding, thanks for the advice, c u on the road , gazza.
