  1. It is with great sadness that I wish to inform the members of KOG of the death of a good bloke & fellow member, Grant Armstrong.

Grant passed away yesterday (5/09) in John Hunter Hospital (Newcastle) as a result of a surfing incident/accident.

Whenever Grant was at home, not travelling the country, he would endeavour to attend Old Bar Beach almost daily to maintain his fitness, this is where the incident/accident occurred.

Approximately 15 years ago suffered a stroke that left him with some disability in balance & strength, but he did not let that deter him, as he kept up a busy & successful life.

Personally, Annie & I have only had the pleasure of knowing Grant & his wife Jane for about two years when we met them on a KOG trip. Grants friendship, zest for life & always telling a joke are things that we are certainly going to miss.

To Jane, Sally & David on behalf of the Kedron Owners Group, I would like to pass on our most sincere condolences at this very sad time for you.

    Rest in peace my friend,

    Tony Heat

    President KOG

PS at the time of writing this funeral/memorial service details have not been finalised.

  2. Forum users are advised that a number of official KOG Inc. documents have been updated. These documents can be found in the Membership / Online Payments / Forms sub-forum, FORMS and FACTSHEETS thread. All documents on this thread are undergoing continuous improvement, both in content and format, so it always wise to view or download a fresh copy as required.

In particular, the Committee recommends that members thinking about organising or attending an official KOG Inc. function should download all the relevant documents and become familiar with the contents, as information relating to Public Liability Insurance for official KOG trips and gatherings has been clarified.

    Many thanks

    :)

  4. Hi David & Terry,
The webmaster locked this thread yesterday, I think at an appropriate time.
The tone that was being conveyed in your posts, I don't believe was helpful in the sense of constructive conversation and beneficial to the forum ideals.
The forum is & has been a wealth of knowledge for new & more experienced members & contributors. The posting of negative or 'open ended' comments in this or other forums is of no real use and isn't necessary. (It may be time to re read the code of conduct)
I'm reopening this thread....... but please remember we are all here to share & learn. Please do so in a friendly constructive way, by sharing your knowledge & experience.
Regards to you both.....cu down the road

    Tony Heat

    President

  5. Alright Gentlemen - tempers are getting a little frayed here. Friendly exchange of views is good and is one of the prime purposes of the forum.

This thread appears to be getting a little tense, so I will lock it until tempers cool, and I take instruction from the President.

    Regards

  10. At one stage there was an area on this site where members could offer their property as a possible stay for other KOGGERS. We registered our place on the list of properties.

I have looked high and low and can not find it. Does it still exist please and if so where?

    Thanks

    Grahame

    Hi Grahame

It is in the Financial Members section under Trip/Gathering Reports pinned as the first topic.

  11. Final reminder to the members of our old “Kedron Owners Group” ie. members before our Incorporation on 1 September 2009.

If you wish your membership to automatically transfer over to the new Kedron Owners Group Inc. you need to have your KOG Membership Form together with your cheque to PO Box 57 Taigum by this Saturday 31 October 2009.

All memberships received after that date will incur the $25 joining fee without exception as you will be treated as a "new member".

IMPORTANT NOTE TO PAST TRIP LEADERS: This expiry date is particularly important to our past Trip Leaders who were in the process of qualifying for Life Membership (now Honorary Membership) as any previously accumulated qualifications ie. time with the group, number of gatherings held etc. will not be recognised and you will recommence as a new member.

Refer to Clauses 6(1) & 9(3) of the Kedron Owners Group Inc. Constitution.

  12. Hi John & Anne

Section 8(1) of our Constitution states:

"Application for membership of the Group must be made on the form approved by the Management Committee and submitted to the secretary/treasurer."

Perhaps you could find a public library or somewhere easy to print your document.

  13. We have received a number of Membership Applications with accompanying cheques for $73.

This is to remind current Kedron Owners who have the existing Kedron Owners Group name badges, are exempt from paying the once only $25 Joining Fee if their Membership Applications are received by 31st October 2009.

Therefore your cheques should only be for the yearly membership amount of $48

If you do not have a name badge, you will need to pay the $25 once only Joining Fee plus the $48 yearly membership.

  14. We have arrived !

Today, the 1st September marks the launch of the Kedron Owners Group Inc. We have come a long way since we decided to seek Incorporation for the Group with the Qld Office of Fair Trading three months ago and after a lot of hard work, this has now been granted.

We are now in a position to seek your support to make the new group work for the members. We have tried to keep things as simple as possible (like it used to be), however with Incorporation comes legal responsibilities and the need for associated documentation.

    The website:

You will notice several changes to the website. You can now go into our ”Membership” section (link located in our menu bar) where you will see a variety of information and forms etc. In this section you will find a Membership Application Form and details on how to become a financial member of the Group. Only financial members will be granted access to the ‘Members Only’ forum and other areas of the website, however non-financial members can still view unrestricted sections of the website, as can the general public (forum guests).

Steps to Become a Financial Member:

    1. Download and complete a Membership Application Form from the Membership link in our website menu located at the top of each page. New memberships are accepted from today and all memberships will be renewed on 1st September each year. Membership renewals should be paid by 31 October each year to avoid paying a rejoining fee. Kedron Owners who have the existing Kedron Owners Group name badges, are exempt from paying the once only $25 Joining Fee if their Membership Applications are received by 31st October 2009.

    2. Post the completed Membership Application Form together with your cheque to the address shown on the form. Note: Payment is by cheque or bank cheque only as direct bank deposits can be “lost” in the system. We have opened a KOG Inc. bank account, so cheques should be made payable to “Kedron Owners Group Inc.

    3. Once your Membership Application Form has been received by our Secretary, your receipt and ‘Membership Pack’ will be posted to you and you will be granted access to the financial member areas of our website.

Our first Kedron Owners Group Inc. Xmas gathering has already been organised and details will be available to all financial members via our Gatherings page. Your username and password for this section will need to be noted on your Membership Application Form, as all previous access details have been discontinued.

Thank you for your patience over the past few months, and we look forward to this next exciting period of the new Kedron Owners Group Inc.

  15. In preparation for our Incorporation all forum users have been transferred to "Forum Guest" status. This means you will not have access to the Private Forum (now Members Forum) or "Financial Members Only Access" areas until you are a financial member of the new Kedron Owners Group Inc.

We have a couple more small steps to complete and some more work to be done here on our website before Application for Membership Forms will be available for downloading. Hopefully all will be ready to go towards the end of next week.

Thank you all for your patience
