  1. Ill second Darryl's suggestion. Our drain holes had rubber covering them so i cut it away, clearing them and seems to have fixed it
  2. Ingredients: 1 cup of butter, 1 cup sugar, 4 eggs, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 cup dried fruit, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 cup brown sugar, lemon juice, nuts, 1 bottle whisky. Sample whisky to check for quality. Take a large bowl. Check the whisky again, to be sure it is of the highest quality, pour 1 level cup and drink. Repeat. Turn on the electric mixer, beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add one spoontea of sugar and beat again. Make sure the whisky is still OK. Cry another tup. Turn off the mixer. Break 2 eggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit. Mix on the turner. If the fruit gets stuck in the beater, pry it off with a drewscriver. Sample the whisky again to check for tonsisticity. Next, sift 2 cups of salt - or something. Who cares? Check the whisky. Now sift the lemion juice and strain your nuts. Add 1 babblespoon of brown sugar, or whatever colour you can find. Wix mel. Grease the oven. Turn the cake pan to 350 gradees. Don't forget to beat off the turner. Throw the bowl out the window. Check the whisky again and Bo to ged
  3. Gday neighbours we live in Keperra aswell and that makes 4 Kedrons we know off now. Iwould say that what you have done to the Nissan should be good :shades: better than them Toymota thingys  , that may get a couple of bites. We use a 03 Discovery
  4. Well we are back and what a trip, thanks Darryl and mate you are rite as there is so much more to do and on offer out west. I gave Alex (for those who have not met us she is our 13YO daughter) the chance to do the trip report, she has hand writen it and now all she has to do is to type it up then ill post it. If i was asked where was the best place, i would have to say every spot was as good as the last and the people we met the same, yes even when the Blackers found us in Longreach, it was good to catch up with them again.
  5. Gday Bob & Di he does do a good job doesnt he. We can second this as we had exactly the same thing done to our van and have used it a couple of times now, it saves a lot of extra messing about.
  6. Sue, thanks for that info, i certainly hope the food will be as good i have heard, thats the reason i wanted to stay 2 nights but then if Kedron owners will be the park owners things should be just as good, they have good taste to start Kimbo, mums the word to Anthony about the Pizza now, his birthday is the last night in Winton and loves Pizza so we will have to source another place to go. We have Debs aunty travelling with us and she is in cabins, if just us we would probably think about it. Thanks for the info tho mate much appreciated. Chris, Thanks for the wishes sorry iam not a good one for trip reports but should have a few pics and hope to give the video camera a work out, its been in its case since our Camberra trip last September. Darryl, Barcaldine will probably be a short stop for food or fuel, Unfortunately school holdays are not long enough, accept for the Xmas ones but that may be our Tassi trip next year Dave or was it Jane using all that sauce, mate i just want to get back and have that Reef & Beef again, i can taste that garlic creal sauce now  hey just looking at the Emoticons and waht does this remind you off :gathering: LOL Mark should recognize it. Did you get my email with date suggestion for another trip down there, we dont have to many chances till next year and if i get another job we may have even less.
  7. and it will not go fast enough iam sure, next Saturday we are off to Winton and back. We are all looking forward to this trip so much and it will be an experience for us all becasue Deb and i have not been west past Toowoomba before so it will all be very new. Now if i remember Darryl told me about a pizza shop in Winton (the best pizza in Australia) so that will be a dinner for sure. We are amazed at the camp oven dinners on at Longreach, Winton and Charleville caravan parks aswell as poetry nights, yabby races and other events, the only parks we are staying in that has nothing on will be chinchilla and Mitchell. We decided to stay at Crows Nest caravan park for 2 nights before heading home after hearing so much about the hospitality there from other KOG members. We look forward to catching up when we get back
  8. Gday Kiwi, I like that one he had a good sense of humour. If you have never owner a LR you will never know, Maca was pretty close saying that they have soul. Deb is the one hear that would only have the Disco as i wanted the Defender and even today she will not think about trading it even with the things going wrong.
  9. Its good to get helpfull info especially when it comes to the LR's, i have found AULRO the biggest help so far. We loved the SLS especially when towing, it was so easy to hitchup then just drive away not setting the WDH up. I go back on shift this Saturday untill Tuesday night, iam home those nights after 7pm. I start annual leave Tuesday night and will be getting a few things ready till 6am Saturday then we are off  and can not wait. We will be in Longreach for 4 nights, Winton for 3 nights and charliville for 3 nights and have all the stops planed out, Anthony (our eldest boy 12) is looking forward to Larks Quary and if Matthew finds out about your suggestion to travel back he will be asking is it 4x4 and lowrange needed can we do it please please, i can just see him  . We are booked into all the caravan parks there and back, we dont have any amenities in our van, that will be in the next one once we dont have so many bodies living in the van.
  10. G Maca you do have it bad, LOL, i have a SIII SWB aswell, she is all original and my youngest (Matthew) and i are slowely working on her and will end up back to nearly concourse condition, i have heard of the SIII having perkins motors fitted before, i was entertaining the idea of fitting the Nissan cabstar diesel and 5 speed but thought it was getting to far away from the original setup, i may rebuild to 2.25 petrol to the diesel (got to love that versatility) then fit the Rangy 4:1 diff centers to give the higher ratios for highway running. Have you looked at the towing capacity of the SIII towing, i nearly fell of my chair when i read 4T with brake assited trailer
  11. Gday Alan & Lynda, g just what we went through with our 2003 TD5 Disco. The control valve on the compressor died comming home from the Noosa North Shore weekend causing the car to drop on the drivers side. M R Automotive on Anza AVE Redcliffe fixed the problem very nicely by removing the airbags and installing heavey duty coil springs for $432 verse's around $1000 to replace the compressor and control valve. If you would like to contact me not a problem at home 0n 33516949 or my mobile 0408175697 or mcbeyer@bigpond.com Maca also gave good advice but you would most likely find threads to do with our SLS problem You have got to love the LR to want to own one with all the costs involved with keeping them on the road, when we come back from our Winton trip at the end of this month we will have to get the ABS modual and engine mounts done, around $2000 then ill be looking at some other mods to boost reliablitiy and power, i hope to end up with 179KW and 545NM, it should pull the van very nice when done
  12. Deb and i would like to thank Mark,Bern, Dave & Jane for joining us at Stanthorpe  . We had the best time and certainly look forward to doing it again one day. Stanthorpe is looking great at the moment after the rain they had and the town is still as friendly as ever
  13. Thanks for that info Chris, we love the Top of Town caravan park and have stayed there 4 times already, one time we where there it got down to -1 and the van was more comfortable than we expected. We dont have a diesel heater but do have a mini bar oil heater (purchased in Stanthorpe 2 years ago). After all the trips to Stanthorpe we have found the best Wineries, food & drives to do and if anyone else is staying around the town and want to go out for a dinner we recomend the meals at the Golf/Bolws club, its not a big resteraunt but the food is the best also AHHH we just remembered the pub we will be going to on Saturday night, its the Central Hotel
  14. Gday all just a quicky, we are going to Stanthorpe on the Friday 16th May till Sunday 18th May staying at the Top of Town Caravan Park. I didnt want to put it into the gatherings as its a spure of the moment trip as its a shake down trip to check the new suspension is ok before our Winton trip in June. Mark & Bern are joining us and we have the 2 ensuite sites booked so if anyone would like to join us please feal free to ring and book a site Toll Free 1800 030 123. Friday night we will be doing hamburgers Saturday night will be dinner at the ???? pub (we can never remember the name) Both Saturday and Sunday mornings will be bacon & eggs http://www.topoftown.com.au/
  15. Gday Mark its Mark here from the Mark & Deb tribe, Thanks Kimbo for the mention. Mark we have a 17'6 Enduro that has double bunks and we put the table down for our youngest. Our bunks are long ways with the kitchen across the front, with this setup we have a little more bench space for food prep (with 3 kids you definately need the bench space). Kedron dont make the Enduro anymore but we are very happy with it and considering it is the same chassis as the XC of its age the only difference is the 15 inch wheels not 16s. I have had the van off road and no problems at all (the off road was in lowrange and diflock engaged) i find the van is better on dirt than is on Bitumen
  16. Saw them at Noosa north shore and are having a great time so far
  17. Gday Bern, thanks agin. It was great to meet up with everyone.
  18. LOL yes it is good when they get him, every trip since he started going they have got him with something at some stage
  19. I think it would be the best so far, very entertaining and one wonders is Dave learning yet :shades:
  20. Gday David we saw Yoshy & Kerry at Bunya with the new car, it didnt look to bad but you asked how is it going, yes well its going to be good when finnished  , ill leave Yoshy to finish that one off
  21. Well done Sue, Mark & Bern told us all about what we missed out on  and from the pics it certainly looked like a great trip, see you at Bunya
