  1. I've just listed a Real Ezy folding boat trailer with suspension in the classifieds. Thought I'd mention it here as some of the accessories are specific to a Kedron van. As well as the trailer, I have the brackets for carrying it on the rear of a Top Ender. Also an outboard motor bracket that fits on the draw bar. If you don't like lifting, I also have a folding crane (with electric winch) that fits into a receiver on the draw bar. This is for lifting the motor from the draw bar to the boat and return. All will be on the Gold Coast from mid December. As you might have guessed, we no longer plan on carrying a roof topper. We now have a place at King Ash Bay in NT and have bought a much bigger boat for use there. Have decided that with the amount of fishing we do when i NT, we won't carry a boat on our other travels. 2. Peter and Margaret, Kabby and I are planning on spending about 3 months in Tassie from mid Dec 2009. Probably a similar time to your trip - just 12 months later. I'm interested in your thoughts on places to focus on during the peak holiday time that will avoid the crowds. We need to organise our travel to make best use of the time during the peak school holiday period and also the few weeks we will be there after the peak period. Any thoughts on this? Regards Norm C
  3. Bruce and Sue, if you go to Kingfisher (I agree it is a nice spot for a day or three of relaxation), you can continue on via a back road through Lawn Hill Station to Lawn Hill NP. Quite a nice drive. We did this trip about 4 years ago and it was terrific. Lawn Hill is worth the effort and make sure you do the canoe trip very early (be first on the water if possible) for great photographs. Kabby took about 400 pics I think - some of them are sensational. I see you are going across from Borroloola. We are currently at King Ash Bay (on Genny Flats). Are you in one of the Kedrons in the powered area? Norm C
  4. I am familiar with them and had planned to get one, but have since set up a method to carry my motor on the caravan draw bar and lift it with a simple crane. Early last year I was asked by The New Inventors (ABC) to review the product for them. They got onto me via the ExploreOz website as I had been a major contributor to an article on that site on roof top boats. I can say the Ezygo is well made, all stainless steel and very easy to use. An attraction is that you get a motor trolley for use at home and on the road as well as a loader and retaining system. The only disadvantage is that (depending on your vehicle and where it will be mounted), it can take up a fair amount of space, but this can often be overcome by adjusting your packing method. Garry Bilston (who makes the Ezygo) and his wife Lyn are very nice people and very helpful as well. Hope this helps, Norm C
