  1. Well, we went to the Brisbane Caravan show and have finally placed our order for a brand spanking new XC-3 Compact. The team at Kedron were really helpful as always and it was great to stir up the Patriarch (Baz) with my Qld jersey. Now, we wait until May 18 and in the meantime get the van's parking area at home all set up. Finally got the new DVD on Maytown - if you haven't seen it, it is the most extreme treatment for the van and the drivers that the Boys have done in 20 years of filming.

  2. Well done! You will not be able to wait for the arrival date. And you are now able to join the forum as a caravan owner, and financial member.

  3. Hello Colin, Have you consulted with Victorian American Autos ( as I believe they are the guys who converted it, from our previous conversation) as I have always found that they are extremely helpful and can source parts quickly and very competitively. They also carry a hell of a lot of stock (spares) as they have been in the business over 30 years. I have a some friends who have purchased vehicles from them and are of the same opinion Steve

  4. I think you would simply need to ask a contributor if you wanted to use their photos. But the easiest thing is to simply put out a post generally saying "We have a photo competition running for new photos to place on the forum banner. If you have a great shot which you are happy to have placed on the forum in a prominent place in our banner email me your images via the Webmaster email (insert email address) in a size between (insert size of images you require, eg between 1024x768)". run the post again when you want to change the photos. You then simply pick the ones you like. Trust me, I have heaps I can send you!

  5. Hi Leon, I would like to echo Merv's comments......your a lucky chap! If you get an accessory fuel filter consider a 30 micron filter fitted BEFORE the factory filter.....something like this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Diesel-fuel-filter-water-separator-universal-pre-filter-Common-Rail-Diesel-Kit-/401318441627?hash=item5d7071729b:g:EsgAAOSwT-FZBtx6 they are relatively easy to fit & plumb up. Fitting one of these will extend the service life of the factory filter (which are expensive) change the accessory filter say every 2nd oil change for about $30....cheap insurance. If your still at Gosford, jump on the M1 and give the truck 'a flogging' (so to speak) to give it a good clean out! Re silicon sprays, don't believe they will cause any problems (hardening)....but using silicon/silastic type adhesives/sealants during component assembly can cause problems with O2 sensors....the fumes given off during the curing process cause the problems! Re fuel.....95% of all fuel is now imported (Singapore) regardless of 'brand' it all comes from the one depot and depending on brand additives they are added/blended whilst the delivery truck is being filled.....fuel from the depot you can bet your right testicle will be clean.....contaminants are picked up from servo underground tanks regardless of brand. Always look for fuel at outlets that would have a high stock/fuel turnover!....you would have to be very unlucky to pick a load of bad fuel. Adding extra 'additives' to your fuel.....make up your own mind.....myself,..... diesel fuel in Oz is Ultra Low Sulphur content, making it a very dry fuel. To every tank full (250L) of fuel I use, put in 1/2 liter of two stroke oil or auto trans oil (cheapest available) just to increase the fuel lubricity......works for me. Travel safe, CU down the road.

  6. We just want to put on record our sincere thanks to Ashley and David for fixing our well out of warranty van at their significant cost. Few if any other manufacturers would entertain doing this. Once again, great work Gall boys - take a bow. Gary & Lee
