  1. Thanks mate for your reply No the wyngard antenna was removed by Kedron to make way for the mounting bracket. The reason I had the bracket fitted was I met a nice couple of fellow koggers when I was up at Hervey Bay I can't rember their names but they were great and they already had the dish and showed me how the indoor box was mounted inside there cupboard nice and neat and was a realy good setup and they were on there way to Kedron to have the bracket fitted so I thought wile I was up there and was going to get the van servised I would get mine done to. I mounted the dish etc on the roof yesterday and run the wires through roof and now I will get my son inlaw who is an electrician and does lot of data cabling work so i will take on board about shortening the cables and mection that to him when he does the job. Thanks Tony.
  2. Hi to all I have got 21ft Topender and in the process of fitting an auto satellite dish to roof. I have had the mounting brackekt fitted by by the boys at Kedron and I have mounted the dish, now I am ready to do the wiring side of it. What I would like to find out from anybody who have had one fitted is do you tap into the the Tv wiring aerial etc already in the van or just use wiring that come with dish. It is a Sphere sat dish which I got from Sat Nav in Melbourne. Regards Tony Mobile 0403287044

  7. Hi Steve Thanks for your reply, once we have finished the Kimberly we are heading down the west coast and was planing to do Karagini NP after Rhonda went to see her Doctor and he recomended it, and we have to take plenty of pitures to show him. So you never know hopefully we may meet up and have a happy hour together, then again we are hoping to meet up with many travelers to gather some of their expereiences, we are at that age we need to be up in the warmer weather and away from the cold so we are intending to do a lot more traveling and you are never to old to listen and learn from other people. Regards Tony. PS" Also to Chris & Lynn who started this Post we will be keeping an eye out for just to say hello
  8. To all you knowable people on the Forum Just a couple of questions re Gibb River Road and the Kimberlys. We are leaving Melbourne on 3rd of June with the only itenary is to be in Kununurra on the12th for 3 nights and then back in Melbourne in early September,I am considering packing our push bikes and was wondering if it would be worth while doing so. Also what are the regulations regarding carring of alcohol up in that area .Although we have owned our van since August 2011 this is the first time we have been able to do a trip in it so we can't wait Regards Tony & Rhonda Kelly
  9. Thanks to Tony H Ordered a set of air bags for my chev from Michigan Truck Springs on Thursday 4th April and they were on my doorstep the following Monday and at $630 including shipping were cheaper than anywhere else I could find. Cheers Tony Kelly
  10. Hi Ronnie I Took ownership of a 21ft Topender with ensuite back in aug 2011 and was towing it with a nissan 4.2 turbo diesel which had no problems pulling it. After reading some other stories on this forum regarding weights etc I decided to put the trusty patrol over a weighbridge fully fueled and ready for a trip minus the wife the caravan and me and it was 20 kgs off max weight ouch! so what to do, could spend upwards of 3 grand upgrading the suspension or look for a new tug. decided to look at a new tug and after looking at 200 series and disco,s etc but thought I would always be struggling with the weights so had a good look at the next best ones, F250, Dodge Ram & chev silverado(GMC) .Although I liked the look of the Dodge Ram I Settled for Silverado 2500HD crew cab because of better fuel, more power and bigger brakes. Also at time of delivery it was 36kilos over 4.5 ton so had it derated to 4.5 so it can be driven on a car licence and my better half can also drive it. I want to be able to take it most places so I fitted bull bar, winch canopy and along range fuel tank to finish it off. It tows the van beautiful, getting around 19.6 liters per hundred and on the highway will sit on 100 ks all day and plenty in reserve for overtaking trucks if needed. A couple of points, it is bigger than the toyos etc and it might get scratches out in the bush but thats what 4wds are for,and also as far as shopping centers go I tend to park as far from the front doors as possible there is always plenty of room, I even do that with the Mrs little X-Trail just to stay away from the ferrals who like opening doors or pushing trollys into your car. Just to finish off,we went away in January with our daughter her husband and 2 grand kids who were staying in an onsite van so our car and van was packed to the roofs, the van had all water tanks full plus gas bottles & jerry cans full, yammy generator on board bbq ,enough food for 6,engle fridge and freezer packed to the brim plus 2 x 40 liter engles inside of van full of the drinks and the chev was loaded with my normal tools and recovery gear plus 6 bikes and 216 liters of fuel remenbering the bull bar winch and canopy I put the whole unit over the public weigh bridge and was very happy with the weights . Front axle 2.100kgs , rear axle 2.250kgs and the van was 3.540kgs all up 7.890kgs. After taking delivery of the chev Tom at Kedron was quit happy to rerate the van from 3.5 to 3.90kgs so as you see I am very happy with the whole package and would not go back. So do your home work, everybody is different and its what suits them that matters. You won't go wrong with a Kedron its just which tug you like. All the best Kakadu (Tony)
  11. Hi Tony Its good to see there are still lots of people out there who like good old Aussie humor its the small majority who don't know how to laugh when anything is said with tongue in check and they take polictal correctness to far. I hope you can come up with few more like that, I enjoy a laugh. Kakadu

Hi all I have got the 2400 yamy and if I am not going to use it for a day or two I always turn the petrol off and let it run and stop by itself so there is no fuel left in carby, no problems yet always runs "ok" when I restart it not like the Honda I had. Kakadu
  14. Hi all Took delivery of 2011 silverado 2500HD just before Christmas.Even though I hold a MC truck licence I had it down graded to car licence so wife can drive it & also if I pull up for lunch I can have one beer and still drive because I don't have to be on zero alcohol . Went away for a couple of weeks after Christmas the silverado fully fueled 216 ltrs & loaded & with the 21ft topender hooked up and fully loaded with drink water full & other 2 half full & both jerry cans full, put on public weighbridge & came in at 7.460 so can run all water tanks full plus more Cheers Kakadu
  15. Hi Sue I finished making a slide for my yamaha last week looks similar to your photo very tight with measurements but can be done.Picked up slides from bunnings capable of holding 265kgs . Fits real good ,tight with measurements but if I can do it any body can, give me a call if you like on 0403287044 and I will explain to you how I fitted it. Regards Kakadu.

  19. Hi to every one out there, a bit late to to report but we picked up our new 21ft Topender on the 23rd of August, done a bit of a shake down run around QLD outback for 2 weeks and then back to the Boys at Kedron for a check over etc and then back to Melbourne to plan for the future with my missus me and our new van. But first I would like to say that after looking around and checking a lot of vans over 2 years I found that we have picked the best of them not only the van but the people at Kedron, After having a good look at the 2010 Brisbane caravan show, we made up our minds that the Topender was the one we wanted. Then it started, We rang the sales yard and spoke to a Beautiful girl called Jan who could not do enough for us even after the order was placed and any time we rang. Then there was Lisa at the factory who helped us out with any questions while waiting and then the contact from Stan to make a date to go up and finalize the colours etc which made me a bit apprehensive because I was giving a 50% pass back in the days when I went to school on condition I did not attend any more art classes because I was not interested in it and I have no idea about colours. We arrived in Brisbane on the Friday and were due to see Stan on the Monday so we thought we would visit the sales yard on Saturday Morning to get some idea of what we might like and were lucky to meet Jan and have a cuppa and while we did so Jan was great , she helped us to pick every thing that matched and made it so easy for us. On The Monday we got to the factory and strait away were made at home by Lisa who also helped a lot an then in to see Stan who was easy to talk to and listened to what we had to say.5 weeks back up to pick it up, met Graham and Ben who showed us through and how to operate the different aspects of the van, Met Dave on the way out and off to do shake down. Back 2 weeks later and meet Tom in the service dept who got the van checked over and a few small adjustments and a repair to the rear awning arm which was damaged when I was on a narrow bridge and a fellow trucky with an empty semi came around a bend a bit to quick and to late to stop and give way hitting the guard rail on his side and forcing me closer than I needed to be to guard rail on my side.Tom was very good to us and he gave all the credit to Ashley who we did not have the pleasure of meeting for the fixing of the awning like new.Last but not least we meat Maureen who does all the upholstery on the vans. We would just like to thank everybody at Kedron and we know that we are really going to enjoy our time with the van.
