  1. Try this site for latest pics of Gallboys escapades.
  2. I think it could be arranged Rosco -- at a price with many zeros
  3. Yoshy. you could ask Creative Conversions if the had a rear cut off a 100 series and join them ,making an enclosed trailer with front and rear opening tailgates. Decker's bodybuilders(here in Adelaide) did one with 2 80 series rear cuts, with the draw bar in 4" steel tube (in two sections)so it could slide back flush once the pins were removed. Other option to sell to panel beater specialist in 4wd repairs, will eventually have a need for it. Is the conversion full 6 wheel drive or lazy axle. It will be a head turner when finished, not what Toyota thought the 200 would look like. will watch photo section with interest. Brian
  4. Laurie, Helen I am no expert but i believe you will have to use a 477mhz antenna only, coax cable, spring base may be similar to 27mhz.There are currently combination packages radio/ant , free postage for around $440 for both tx3440,tx3420 from contact communication, prestige communications, electric bug . This will give you a starting price for the Brissy caravan show. hope it was of assistance Brian
  5. Roger, Kimbo, maybe Toyota's catch phrase "Oh What a Feeling"' was purely for this type of situation Love the cassette
  6. Roger. haven't towed the van on this route, about 5yrs ago towed camper trailer from Rainbow Valley across stock route to Maryvale down to Chambers Pillar back to Maryvale down the old railway line to Finke onto Dalhousie, Oodnadatta, Marree then onto Adelaide. back then the only real rough (corrugated)stuff was 5-10KS before Chambers Pillar . There is/was a steep climb 5ks out of Maryvale heading to Chambers Pillar. Rest was hard open sand tracks with occassional soft red sand patches. The Finke river crossing is long, sandy. the track from Alice to Finke is used daily and regularly graded, from my view of past travel i believe you will only encounter one or two areas which may require a bit of "think about it" before rushing off. hope this helps in some way Brian
  7. Flew to Sydney today,to pick up my copy. Grab one at first chance it will not disappoint . Topender and 79 series owners won't believe where David takes them. Good to catch up with the Galls and Flipper. Brian
  8. www.cgear.com 2.4mx4.3m $189.00 comes with own bag forstorage
  9. Thanks Chris, for the great spot.We are heading there next week.Have guests from O/S who will love to see all that water after being here,on our front dirt patch.Nice to read your exploits, after meeting you it is great to put a face with the words. Lis
  10. Mick , time will tell if you have created a monster! good to see 4WD action had the sense to print your photo of Kimbo's truck i admittedly not front cover but hey page 18 okay!!
  11. No! that was with our 15'6'' (17')single axle XC(1920 kgs) IN TOW sitting around 85-95 kph g however once we had filled up and the race was on 100-110kph trying to catch the other 3 vans i quickly dropped to around 5 ks per litre this is why i said apples for apples you need a 19'6"" topender being pulled by a 100td for comparison.
  12. Dazmit with the 650k range out of the 100 series i had better keep my old hj61 and sell the 100 as Rosco can tell you at Mackay on way to cane farm i had 1575 ks out of the old girls tank admittedly she took on 213 litres leaving 7 litres to spare .We dont need Kimbo to spend our money $300 on a fill up is quick enough. brian
  13. David you need to compare apples with apples , no use comparing a 16-18' cross country with a 19'6" top ender not only because of the 500kgs in weight but also the 150mm height difference(wind catcher)of the top ender. Kimbo's figures are getting close to yours but there is still 2' difference in length. If you work on best figures yours 25l/100 @$1-50per litre $37-50 for 100ks kimbos 20/100@$1-50 ,$30-00 for 100ks. With the cost of the 200 td at $78.000 compared to 200 petrol at $68.000 on these figure you could travel 25-30.000ks with the van in tow while the 200td was still in the shed. I agree after visiting the web site you have mentioned some of the figures as hard to accept however if you towed some of these vans with your V8 you may have obtained similar figures as to driving unladen. Brian
  14. Kimbo. following on from our phone conversation yes time was against you, however the deal you have struck is a good one. you will soon get use to the 2 pedal driving especially in traffic. and with the grunt from the motor you won't notice the boat, van, trailer, concrete mixer and the portable loo in tow on your first trip. look forward to reports on how you find it performing in the months ahead. Brian
  15. Kimbo ask the dealer if there is any savings eg luxury tax and stamp duty by registering as a 2 seat commercial. vehicle would need to be re complied (cost $170 here in Adelaide ). Are you buying in Mackay?
  16. Oooopppps! my mistake i misunderstood the the number of the unit having revisited the web site i was refering to new" P3" that will be available soon .
  17. Kimbo in one of Webby's listings www.sidewinder.com.au sells electronic equipment and has a write up on this model. I am unsure if it is available through the them yet .
  18. Lionel & Margaret, We are sorry not to be able to make it up there for your trip,we really enjoy your company. Will see you later in the year.

  20.  Welcome Graham&Sue --when are you due--our baby is not until July and I am making changes already. An ATV is expected but more information is written in pencil because I am a pest.
  21. WOW !! we didn`t make it to Crows Nest but with all those smiling faces I think we missed out on some laughs. Good shots guys!
  22. Have been watching the Gall Boys web site changing over last couple of days there is some interesting reading re-sponsors they used on their latest trip . See the release date of video is now expected April. Brian
  23. i think i may have to call on help from " the gods". or a good fabricator. Lis felt sorry for me and bought a new toy for me. One from Kings Creek Station . Ian was looked after by Toyota for using his station to do adverts for 200 series (American market) a VX for GXL price and choose your extras to $6000 If i fit the winch you will see it in November. Brian
  24. I am seeking help from owners of100 series L/Cruiser fitted with Toyota Estate winch bar as per photo in album section My question is--- is there a separate bracket that fits inside the chassis rail and fits against the front section of the alloy bar? I am trying to put my Superwinch off my old L/Cruiser into a non winch Estate bar ( if possible ) before I have to purchase a new alloy bar. Brian
