Fieldsie
Our 151/2 ft XC poptop is only two years old and ever since new we have had a continual problem of water getting in the front boot, even after quite light rain. I've had Sandra lying inside the boot whildt I spray it with the hose to find the problem, all to no avail. Have any other members got a similar problem to us and does anyone have any solutions?Fieldsie
dazmit
Hi FieldsyAlong the bottom of the boot doors are drain holes - make sure the rubber seal is cut away at these drain holes. CheersDarryl
Mark n Deb
Ill second Darryl's suggestion. Our drain holes had rubber covering them so i cut it away, clearing them and seems to have fixed it
gunna
So you guys are saying that water getting in is ok - its getting out thats the problem ??I usually have a bit in mine after rain too.
dazmit
My theory is the water gets into the boot door surround and if the drain holes are blocked with the sealing rubber it then drains into the boot whereas with the drain holes clear then it empties externally.CheersDarryl
Fieldsie
Thanks Darryl,I've checked that and they seem to be unobstructed so that doesn't seem to be the problem.Fieldsie
John and Lynelle
Hi Fieldsy,We had the same problem with our 2002 XC 15-1/2ft. I solved it with a "D" shaped hollow rubber strip about 5mm or so wide. It has self adhesive on it, & I've stuck it directly on to the existing sealing rubber on the door. I bought it from Bunnings. So far it has been successful.Happy Travelling,Regards,John
