RussnSue
We've been contacted by the Kedron factory to advise us that the long wait is almost over as construction of our van has commenced. After months of being a "defacto" Kedron owner on this forum, we will soon be fully qualified. We left Alice Springs 3 weeks ago to travel to Brisbane to pick up the van and are in the final stages of our journey, (currently at Dubbo for a couple of days). There is an ATV here at the park we are at, being pulled by the same kind of vehicle that we have (Discovery 3), so I'll be keen to ask them how they are finding it as a tow vehicle. The anticipation is killing us, but we're almost there. Hoorah!CheersRuss n Sue
Jacky Jacky
Hi Russ & Sue,It is hard to contain your excitement when the date of delivery is so close. I'm sure the Kedron owner at Dubbo would be happy to chat to you.I trust the pick up will go to plan and wish you safe travels. Chris
Russ and Sue.Where will you take the van for its shakedown trip? Our new Top Ender is due late February and we think we may go down to Girraween National Park, near Stanthorpe. Then, all going well, we will head back down to our new home in the Adelaide Hills. A major change for us, after living almost my whole life in the NT.Chris
Laurie and Helen
Just a reminder that anyone picking up a new van and want some time to set it up before you head home our place is available just out of Toowoomba. Bruce and Sue set up before heading back to Tasmania recently it was a good chance to meet and set up at your own pace, so if you want to make use of the place send us an email. We have plenty of room. We are heading of to Tasmania on Boxing Day but if you are passing through we will just tell the neighbours to expect a van in the front yard.Have a good weekend at Crows Nest we are doing parent and Grandparent duties so wish you all a Merry Christmas. Laurie and Helen
RussnSue
Hello Chris,We are going to stay within striking distance of Brisbane for most of January as our Daughter is flying over from the West (bringing the Grandies with her) and will be around for a month. After that we want to spend time in SE Queensland/NE NSW at places such as Texas, Stanthorpe, Inverell, Bingara etc.Keep in touch. you never know, we may cross paths.Cheers,Russ. RussnSue
Hello Laurie and Helen,we will most definitely be in touch. We are very lucky that we have a "base" at Evans Head, staying with a wonderful couple that we met at Alice Springs earlier in the year. We have already "exploded" in their shed and will be able to set the van up there as well.Having said that, we are bound to have teething issues and if we need a temporary base we may take you up on your wonderful offer.CheersRuss. Chris
Russ, that sounds like a great schedule. If you go to Stanthorpe, call in and see or stay at Girraween National Park. We have been there a couple of times now. The last time we stayed there, another couple of Top Enders arrived. We all enjoyed drinks together one night. That area is absolutely beautiful. We once spent a week at Brunswick Heads too - and loved it there also.Chris
