  1. Hang on David, theres a few of us (not many) that have the ultimate tow vehicle - the F250. 4500kg towing capacity and similar consumption to the toyos. With your big Top Ender you should consider changing over. LOL Rosco
  2. We know the feeling. You see you never hear these words of grief from Toyota owners The Nissan becomes a loved member of your family. Its a pity Nissan hasnt develloped a bigger V8 to rival the Toyotas. Rosco & Chris Miss'n their Nissan (And their Kedron)
  3. HeyDavid, thats not a bad idea. Black market deisel. The trigger is quite well constructed. Auto shutoff and all. Rosco
  4. Correction. I bought the Hema Rasta Maps. Rosco :shades: Ah Ah. I just realised Navigator is a GPS unit. I like Sue have a PDA. Mine has Tom Tom built in. I have loaded Oziexplorer but as explained before do not know how to use 100% effectively. The benefit of this system is that (when I know how) I can plan out a trip and load it into the PDA or just follow my position on the laptop as I travel. If you want a good site to help you and in my case, really confuse you about GPS units try: http://www.gpsaustralia.net/ Cheers Rosco
  5. I bought one. I have loaded it into Oziexplorer and am currently learning how to use it. Hema comes with an abbreviated version of Oziexplorer. I dont know the difference as yet. I believe Maddog is the expert. With a bit of coercing he may hold a beginners class at Vic High Country gathering! Cheers, Rosco :shades:
  6. Just as we have decided to bite the bullit and travel full time we get with this fuel price explosion. Rats!!! I was going to put a large long range tank into the F250. At around $2K I thought this is going to take a lot of miles at city prices to break even. Also I doubt when I come to resell the truck I will get any money back for the tank. Sooo I bought one of these: http://fueltanksruscomau.melbourneitwebsit...ategory_id=1720 I purchased the 200 Litre model. It sits in the back nicely and can be removed easily and can be sold when I no longer need it. For the Nissan, Toyota and other vehicle owners the 100 litre one may be more practical. Regards Rosco
  7. Wayne & Cheryl Try covering all panels but one with a blanket or cardboard then take a reading. Repeat this for each of the other panels. This should tell you which panel is down on charge, if any. Regards, Rosco
  8. Last years runner up took up my challenge. You know what I told him? "HA!" I SAID -- "YOU HAVN'T GOT THE BOULES" Rosco
  9. As the undisputed Bunya Mountains "Boules Champion" I throw down the challange for all wannabees to attend this weekend and have a go at the crown. Who is that man? Rosco
  10. Kingy, Found it here: http://dooleyauto.com/dooley_site_1_002.htm Looks like it will do the trick. I was looking for a more conventional guage to fit into a pod Ive got. Rosco
  11. Ive been going down a similar track. If you search the USA sites they are half the price. Try this one; http://shopping.rexmar.com/Merchant2/merch...ry_Code=ByBrand I want to acquire a Pyrometer, Transmission temp and possably a Boost guage. I like the Auto meter brand. Rosco
  12. I found this bus and I want to incorporate its design features into my next Kedron. Do you think Stan will agree? Rosco

    Rock Tamers

A bit dear but they look very smart. You gotta have a smart looking truck. At least until it gets dirty. Rosco

    Rock Tamers

Just bought these yesterday at the show. I spotted them on the internet 6 months ago and a local took the initiative to import them. They were selling in the US for UD$500 and yesterday I bought them for $399. They look very smart and should save the van and truck's back window. They are universal and should fit most 4WD's. Check out the WEB site: http://rocktamers.com.au/ Rosco
  15. I don't know that brand however it may be one of the many Honda copies coming out of China. I have heard of testing on the other brands and the reports are that they won't run the airconditioner on the van. They simply die when you put that sort of load on. If you talk to the forum I'm sure the concensus would be Honda, Honda, Honda or Yahama, Yahama, Yahama. I would suggest you get a guarantee from the dealer that it will run an A/C if that is your ultimate goal. Better still take the van with you and test it yourself. If you just want to run lights and an engel they may be satisfactory. Hope this is helpful, Rosco
  16. Nindigully Pub Circa 1864 At last the long awaited Nindigully Pub gathering. Dont miss this awesome Pub, the oldest original pub in Queensland. We will be camped on the banks of the Moonie River in front of the pub and enjoy a spit roast 3 course dinner on Saturday night. Best of all its FREE (except dinner). More info here: http://www.lets-getaway.com/kedronownersgr...information.htm Nindigully Pub Rosco :drunk:
  17. Hi you all. Sorry to hear the weekend was weather unfriendly. I'm sure you all had a laugh though. Still even sorrier we couldn't make it. Rosco & Chris  PS Were suffering the opposite - unbearably hot & humid. :tongue_ss:
  18. I have a Vacuflush toilet in my boat and theyre great. No smell or chemicals and use very little water. The holding tank is big. I looked at using the Dometic for our new van and Stan suprisingly said they would install one if requested. The Dometic unit is great for an awkward install because the holding tank is remote from the toilet and I liked the ceramic bowl as apposed to plastic. The big downside is the small cassette. Only 14 litres. As I think all caravanners will agree toilet duties are a downer and increasing those duties is madness. This caused us to drop that idea. Rosco
  19. Sounds like a tall story too me! Rosco :shades:
  20. The local camping store "Go Camping" has it for sale. I saw it on the weekend. I am sure it is just 2 layers of shade cloth. Quite expensive for what it is. Rosco
  21. I bought a shade cloth mat from BCF. Eyelets in corners and sides, carry bag, very light and easy to handle, only $45. Rosco
  22. Thanks Geoff, I know ABR, I have bought items several times through them in the past and found their service and products excellent. Rosco
  23. Jeanne & Geoff On the Birdsville gathering my friend tagged along in a camper trailer. One day when we stopped for the night and raised the top, one of the halogen lights had switched itself on and it had burnt through the folded clears and the matress. He was lucky it didnt turn into a fireball. The manufacturer did fix it. Just goes to show the dangers of halogens. It may be worth replacing them with LED replacement globes. No heat and less power consumption. Check this site: http://www.ledshoponline.com/ Rosco
  24. CONGRATULATIONS SUE. YOU WERE THE ONLY ONE TO ANSWER IT. OK. I EXPECT BY THE LACK OF RESPONSE YOU ALL GIVE UP! THE ANSWER IS: "A LAST NAME" ROSCO
