We had this problem also Tony and fixed it in the same way you did. All good now, although I believe Breakaway don't recommend wiring direct to the house battery. Pays to check on this little unit every now and then.

We had the opportunity last night to attend the Premier of the Gall Boys latest DVD "Crossin' the Canning Stock Route" and thoroughly enjoyed it. The scenery, wildlife and of course the usual characters make this latest DVD great viewing. Young Mitch and Alex would certainly have some tales to tell their mates after that trip. What an experience for them. I think Ashley's eyes were opened a little wider at times too. Top job boys. Keep them coming ! :thumbsup:

Hi Colin, We wouldn't go past BF Goodrich All Terrains. Been using them for years now both on the Cruiser and on the van. They performed well on a recent trip to The Cape (although they did sustain some chipping here and there, but then what tyre doing that trip wouldn't). We went with Mangali 4WD tours and the lead car had Coopers. The comment from the driver was "don't really like Coopers and wouldn't have been my choice", but as it was a company vehicle there wasn't a lot of say. Other people swear by Coopers. I am sure you will find many different opinions from people on this subject.

Rod, Perhaps now is not the time to mention some of the terms of endearment you have given to your lovely wife since I've known you? :boxing:

It was Phillip Hyde with that great tip about putting a screw in the window frame to temporarily stop the latch from moving sideways and allowing dust in. Once you're off the corrugated dirt road, you just take the screw out to enable you to open the window as normal. Great tip Phillip and we did it as soon as we got home from the Goomburra gathering. :thumbsup:

We have a 2004 TD Cruiser pulling our (fully laden) 3.2T XC with no effort at all. It has the chip, but not the 3" exhaust setup of yours. But as Darryl says, a 200 certainly has more grunt. But if your current vehicle can do it, why spend the extra $'s.

Hi Rick & Lea They are just curtain rails. The plastic cup shaped supports at either end are just screwed into the wall of the 4 season hatch. We have had some pretty serious weights on them (ie items of clothing on coat hangers) and they haven't given way yet. If you need a better close-up, just let me know.

LOL Tony, you spoil all my fun :shutup: I've taken a quick photo of the foam. The bar across is just one of three curtain rods we normally put up there to hang towels and things on to air out and the small black piece is a RAM mount for a 12V fan. The piece of foam needs to be just a fraction bigger than the hole so it squeezes in nice and snug. From memory we had ours cut 670 mm x 670 mm, but then I had to cut some more off the sides and particularly one side as it's not quite square. As they say - measure twice, cut once. We bought the foam from Clarke Rubber here in Brissie and it was around the $35 mark. PS The actual size of the foam is now 660 x 665 While we're on the subject of dust - you might also be interested in a couple of pics we took of the back of our 100 Series (with a dust deflector) and another one travelling the same roads (without the dust deflector). These were taken at The Cape last year. The vehicles were washed on exactly the same day prior to that particular dusty road and this was the result. Interesting difference.

We are in the middle of planning our big trip over to the west including (I hope) lots of dirt roads ! Last weekend we purchased a 40 mm thick piece of foam cut to fit the four season hatch space as a precautionary measure. And yes, it's not the best look, but I am told it works well. We have done a few dirt roads in the past and never had any problem with dust as the first thing we did when we brought the new baby home was to squirt lots of sealant around the holes in the floor where the hoses etc. enter. (Thanks Dazmit for helping with this). We also cover all external vents (incl the door) before hitting the dirt.
