  1. I know exactly what you mean Chris - and you have to make sure that you take with you in the car anything that you might need during the day - books, magazines etc. It's a pain - but worth it for the lifestyle
  2. Thanks for the report Chris, sounds like you are having a wonderful time.
  3. Welcome to the Forum Mark, you will thoroughly enjoy putting your new van through its paces when it rolls out of the factory. I especially like the suggestion of Rain Water harvesting in the future, sounds really exciting. A lot of Kedron owners carry around lots of bits and pieces to achieve that aim, so to have something that is perhaps more integrated would be amazing. Cheers
  4. I'm with you Tony - we learned that lesson a long time ago in our camper trailer days. Ordinary garden hose is just not up to the job.
  5. Good onya Kakadu - I see you've taken action

  6. Sunbakers, budgie smugglers!!!! Stop it Chris, you're scaring me!!!
  7. Chris, I have to agree with your statement about the Hema support staff. I've had a Hema HN6 for 2 or 3 years now and I have never had a problem that Robert and the team could not help me with. The Knowledgebase on the support site is excellent as well. I'd love to upgrade to the HN7, but there's nothing wrong with my HN6, so I can't justify the expense - damn!

  9. I learnt one message early, and the hard way! All of the above ideas work, and work well. BUT, never, ever, ever, put a screwtop container of coffee grounds in the freezer to stay fresh. At least, make sure you have a rubber band around it. If you don't, the jar will unscrew, spilling coffee everywhere. The coffee grounds will freeze to all the freezer surfaces, shake into all the inaccessible areas, and you will be finding the odd bits of coffee 5 years later! (: At least coffee smells good!
  10. G'day Reece You should have a great time on your trip - you will be travelling through some beautiful country in both states. Rick and I traversed the Great Central from west to east a couple of years ago without any problems - but conditions can change from day to day - depending on the weather particularly. What is one day a smooth (ish!) dirt road can turn to a muddy slurry with the addition of some rain! Before setting out on such a trip, a good read through the following Main Roads web sites will help by giving current and future road-works, as well as those roads which are currently closed for one reason or another. These are both official government sites (and that's all I'm going to say about that!) Another way of checking is to contact the communities that lie along the Great Central. Locals can be a great resource. Don't forget to get the relevant permits as well. We also got a lot of really good information from the Great Central Road site WA Road Conditions NT Road Conditions Travel safely and don't forget to put up a trip report when you get back. Cheers
  11. Welcome to the Group Mal and Sandra. I'm sure that you will find lots of useful information on the Forum, as well of lots of people willing to give advice on just about any topic you like regarding travel and caravanning, Kedrons in particular of course. Cheers
  12. Thanks for the advice folks. The swearing and cussing part has already been taken care of, but I'm quite sure there will be more. We start a new house-sit in a couple of days, and that's when the deed will be attempted. I'm being brave, but I plan on hiding out somewhere - looking after the calves perhaps? Cheers
  13. The light shown in the photo below sits above our café-style dining table. We had it changed from the original halogen bulb to LED several years ago. Unfortunately, the LED's have given up the ghost. So, my question - does anyone know how to remove the mounting from the cupboard (assuming that is necessary) so that we can replace the LED fitting? Thanks in advance
  14. Sounds like a mini-gathering in the works? Enjoy!
  15. G'day Cargo05 I'll leave all the technical van stuff to other members, but as Webmaster, I do want to advise you on Membership matters. If you click on the following link http://www.kedronownersgroup.com/forum/index.php?/welcome.html/membership/membershippayments/&d=1&sortby=field_1&sortdirection=desc&page=1&_fromLogout=1 a series of articles will be displayed for you. The three most important from your point of view are flagged at the top of the page. If you read them from 01 to 03, you will be given a clear idea of both the benefits of Financial Membership and (when you order your new Kedron ) how to join the Group. Looking forward to seeing your contributions on the forum and meeting you on the road somewhere. Rick and I have been travelling in our Mar 2008 ATV (BigBird) since new. The van is home and we love her. We have had occasional problems (who doesn't), but we also completely trust the guys at the Kedron factory to do what is necessary. From a personal perspective, I can't recommend Kedron highly enough - both van and support-wise. Cheers
  16. Hi Chris - you've planned what sounds like a great trip. At this stage, we are due in Minbrie in mid-May, so hopefully we can catch up with you either before you go, or if you plan on coming down the Eyre on the way west. You know that there is a really, really good free and social camp at Minbrie. Cheers
